QU Inaugurates Engineering Week 2024

Doha: Qatar University’s (QU) College of Engineering (CENG) inaugurated Engineering Week 2024, amid the presence of university leadership representatives and participants from various schools.

In a concerted effort to connect with the local community and industry, the three-day initiative seeks to raise awareness about the college’s programs among high school students and foster stronger connections with the local industry. .

In his remarks, Dean of CENG Dr. Khalid Kamal Naji said, “Engineering Week and similar university events aim to inspire students to join Qatar University’s College of Engineering, motivating them to dedicate efforts to the various technologies and skills the college and university are committed to providing.” He invited all high school students in the country to explore the offerings of Engineering Week, engaging with representatives from our diverse programs, hoping that this event influences students’ decisions regarding their chosen specializations at the university, considering the crucial role of engineering in realizing Qatar National Vision 2030.” Among the featured activities during Engineering Week is an exhibition spotlighting CENG’s diverse undergraduate programs, including Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Architecture. The college is also showcasing the Technology Innovation and Engineering Education Unit through a dedicated booth.

الدوحة: أطلقت جامعة قطر، ممثلة في كلية الهندسة، الأسبوع الهندسي 2024، وسط حضور عدد من قيادات الجامعة، وممثلي عدد من المؤسسات التعليمية، ويستمر ثلاثة أيام.

وتأتي فعاليات الأسبوع الهندسي في إطار مساعي كلية الهندسة للتواصل مع المجتمع المحلي وإطلاعه على أبرز إنجازاتها العلمية، والترويج لبرامج الكلية بين طلبة المدارس الإعدادية والثانوية، ولتقوية العلاقات مع القطاع الصناعي في الدولة.

وقال الدكتور خالد كمال ناجي عميد كلية الهندسة بجامعة قطر، بهذه المناسبة: إن الأسبوع الهندسي وغيره من الفعاليات المشابهة في الجامعة تهدف إلى تشجيع الطلاب والطالبات على الالتحاق بكلية الهندسة، وتحفيزهم على بذل المزيد من الجهد والاهتمام بمختلف التقنيات والمهارات التي تحرص الكلية والجامعة على إكسابها للطلبة. ودعا ناجي جميع طلبة المدارس الإعدادية والثانوية في الدولة لحضور فعاليات الأسبوع الهندسي للاستفادة من مختلف الأنشطة المتوفرة والتواصل مع جميع ممثلي برامج الكلية، معبرا عن ثقته بأن مثل هذه الفعاليات تترك أثرها في قرار الطلبة فيما يخص التخصصات التي يرغبون في الالتحاق بها، آخذين بالاعتبار أهمية الهندسة لتحقيق رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.

وتشتمل فعاليات الأسبوع الهندسي على معرض تشارك فيه برامج كلية الهندسة المختلفة لمرحلة البكالوريوس، منها: برامج الهندسة الكيميائية، وعلوم وهندسة الحاسب، والهندسة الكهربائية، وهندسة الميكاترونيات، والهندسة الميكانيكية، والهندسة الصناعية والنظم، والهندسة المدنية، والعمارة، إضافة إلى جناح لوحدة الابتكار التكنولوجي والتعليم الهندسي.
