Iran Announces Visa-Free Entry for Qatari Tourists

Iran announced on Sunday the unilateral cancellation of entry visas for Qatari tourists. The decision, confirmed by Iran’s Ambassador to the country, Ali Saleh Abadi, will be effective starting Monday, February 5.
Ambassador Abadi described the Iranian government’s decision to cancel entry visas for Qataris as a “fundamental step towards expanding cooperation, enhancing joint tourism, and serving the interests of both countries,” according to the Iranian news agency IRNA.
In a related context, Iran’s Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs, Ali Reza Beigdeli, stated days ago that the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed relevant institutions in the country about the Cabinet’s decision to cancel entry visas for citizens of 28 countries, which came into effect on January 8.

أعلنت إيران يوم الأحد عن إلغاء تأشيرات الدخول للسياح القطريين من جانب واحد. وأكد السفير الإيراني لدى الدولة، علي صالح أبادي، أن هذا القرار سيكون نافذاً ابتداءً من يوم الاثنين، 5 فبراير.
وصف السفير أبادي قرار الحكومة الإيرانية بإلغاء تأشيرات الدخول للقطريين بأنه “خطوة أساسية نحو توسيع مجالات التعاون، وتعزيز السياحة المشتركة، وخدمة مصالح كلا البلدين”، وفقًا لوكالة الأنباء الإيرانية “إرنا”.
وفي سياق متصل، أعلن مساعد وزير الخارجية الإيراني للشؤون القنصلية، علي رضا بيكدلي، قبل أيام، أن وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية قامت بإبلاغ المؤسسات ذات الصلة في البلاد بقرار مجلس الوزراء حول إلغاء تأشيرات الدخول لرعايا 28 دولة، والذي دخل حيز التنفيذ في 8 يناير الماضي.
