QNL Due to Hold Range of Cultural Activities During February

Doha: Qatar National Library (QNL) is hosting a series of cultural events during February.
QNL will host several experts and professionals to present a series of presentations within a panel discussion titled: “The Hadhrami Arab diaspora in Indonesia on Feb. 10 and will bring together Dr. Engseng Ho, a professor at Duke University and a scholar of transnational anthropology, Professor Farish Noor from the University of Malaya, and Professor Fatimah Husein, an expert in philosophy of religion at the State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga in Indonesia.
These presentations come within the cultural year Qatar-Indonesia 2023 followed by panel discussions, while for those interested in creative writing in Arabic, the Library will host the Arabic Short Story Workshop on Feb. 10 presented by Sabah Sanhouri, a Sudanese fiction writer, during which she will explain how writers can leverage their senses to build characters and create a cohesive plot.
On Feb. 12, the focus will turn to sports with the library hosting a day of entertainment and healthy competition for families in celebration of National Sport Day.
The day will also feature a walk that kicks off at the library and finishes at Oxygen Park, led by Dr. Nasser Al Muhannadi, author of How to Be an Iron Man.
On Feb 14, QNL will offer the children the opportunity to participate in the Little Storytellers program to learn how to read a story expressively firsthand from a professional storyteller.
The history of Indonesia will take center stage again on Feb. 21 with Dr. Oman Fathurrahman, a philologist with vast experience and expertise of the Islamic world.

الدوحة: تنظم مكتبة قطر الوطنية خلال شهر فبراير الجاري، سلسلة متنوعة من الفعاليات والأنشطة الثقافية.
وضمن برنامجها لهذا الشهر، تستضيف المكتبة يوم 10 فبراير عددا من الخبراء والمتخصصين لتقديم سلسلة من المحاضرات ضمن ندوة بعنوان: “المهاجرون العرب الحضارم في إندونيسيا: تاريخ غني ومعقد”، وهم البروفيسور إنجسينج، أستاذ الأنثروبولوجيا والتاريخ في جامعة ديوك بالولايات المتحدة، والبروفيسور فاريش نور والبروفيسورة فاطمة حسين، أستاذ فلسفة الدين في الجامعة الإسلامية الحكومية سونان كاليجاغا في يوجياكرتا بإندونيسيا.
وتأتي هذه المحاضرات ضمن فعاليات العام الثقافي قطر – إندونيسيا 2023، وتليها ندوات نقاشية .
وللمهتمين بالكتابة الإبداعية باللغة العربية، تنظم المكتبة يوم 10 فبراير أيضا ورشة حول كتابة القصة القصيرة تقدمها الروائية السودانية صباح سنهوري، وتسلط فيها الضوء على كيفية استخدام الحواس في الكتابة وبناء الشخصيات والحبكة القصصية وغيرها .
وفي يوم 12 فبراير، ستنظم المكتبة مسيرا رياضيا ينتهي عند حديقة الأكسجين، وسيتم مناقشة كتاب كيف تصبح الرجل الحديدي بصحبة المؤلف الدكتور ناصر المهندي، وذلك ضمن برنامج نادي الكتاب ، وسيتم توفير نسخ الكتاب للمشاركين.
وفي 14 فبراير، تتيح المكتبة للأطفال فرصة القراءة للآخرين عبر الاستمتاع بتمثيل الأحداث والحوار بأصوات درامية وبتعبيرات وجوههم في فعالية الراوي الصغير التي تمكنهم من تعلم كيفية قراءة قصة بشكل معبر من راوٍ محترف.
وتعود دائرة الضوء إلى تاريخ إندونيسيا مرة أخرى يوم 21 فبراير، من خلال محاضرة يقدمها الدكتور عُمان فتح الرحمن عالم اللغويات، يتحدث فيها عن خلاصة أبحاثه ودراساته الأكاديمية حول المخطوطات الإندونيسية وموضوعات أخرى.
