Jordanian Minister of Investment: Qatari Investments in Jordan Reach $4.5 Billion

Doha: Qatari investments in Jordan have reached $4.5 billion across various sectors including banking, real estate, tourism, energy, and industry, HE Jordanian Minister of Investment Kholoud Saqqaf said.

HE Minister Saqqaf was speaking in a seminar titled ‘Business Environment and Investment Opportunities in Jordan,’ which was organized by the Ministry of Investment of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the Conferences Centre within the Expo Doha 2023 venue.

Qatar Chamber took part in the seminar which was attended by HE Jordanian Minister of Industry and Trade Yousef Al Shamali, and First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari.

In her remarks, HE the Jordanian Minister of Investment praised the strong fraternal relations between Qatar and Jordan at both the economic and political levels.

She noted that Jordan appreciates and values the Qatari investments in Jordan, looking forward to establishing fruitful partnerships in light of the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries.

HE Minister Saqqaf reviewed the investment climate and opportunities in her country, highlighting the incentives available in Jordan that have positioned the country as an attractive investment hub. She noted that the Ministry recently launched the ‘Invest in Jordan’ platform, which provides all the necessary information for potential investors.

She reviewed investment opportunities with high added value, estimated at $1.4 billion across 17 promising economic sectors.
The Jordanian Minister called on Qatari businessmen and investors to explore the business and investment environment, as well as the investment opportunities available in Jordan, stressing the keenness on providing all necessary facilitations and expediting procedures.

In a statement on the sidelines of the seminar, First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari lauded the robust relations between Qatar and Jordan, indicating that the Qatari private sector looks forward to enhancing cooperation and partnership with its Jordanian counterpart across various economic sectors.

He noted that there are many Jordanian companies operating in various sectors in Qatar, either under full ownership or through partnerships and alliances with Qatari partners.

He added said that Jordan is an attractive investment destination, noting that Qatari businessmen have made numerous investments in Jordan and there is a strong willingness to expand these investments.

الدوحة: قالت سعادة السيدة خلود السقاف وزيرة الاستثمار الأردنية إن قيمة الاستثمارات القطرية في الأردن بلغت 4.5 مليار دولار، توزعت على عدة قطاعات، أبرزها القطاع المالي والعقارات والسياحة والطاقة والصناعة، معربة عن تطلعها لإقامة شراكات مثمرة في ظل العلاقات المتميزة بين البلدين الشقيقين.

جاء ذلك في كلمتها خلال ندوة “بيئة الأعمال وفرص الاستثمار في الأردن” والتي نظمتها وزارة الاستثمار الأردنية في مركز المؤتمرات في إكسبو الدوحة 2023، وشاركت فيها غرفة قطر وحضرها سعادة السيد يوسف الشمالي، وزير التجارة والصناعة والأردني، والسيد محمد بن طوار الكواري النائب الأول لرئيس غرفة قطر.

وأشادت وزيرة الاستثمار الأردنية بالعلاقات الأخوية الوطيدة بين قطر والأردن على المستويين السياسي والاقتصادي، مشيرة إلى أن الاستثمارات القطرية في الأردن موضع تقدير واهتمام من الجانب الأردني.

واستعرضت مناخ الاستثمار في الأردن والفرص المتاحة، وأهم المميزات المتوفرة في الأردن والتي جعلت منه مركزا جاذبا للاستثمار، مشيرة إلى أنه تم مؤخرا إطلاق منصة “استثمر في الأردن” تحتوي على كافة المعلومات التي يحتاج إليها المستثمر.

وعرضت السقاف خلال الندوة فرصا استثمارية ذات قيمة مضافة عالية وبحجم استثمار يبلغ 1.4 مليار دولار، إضافة إلى 17 قطاعا اقتصاديا واعدا.

ودعت السقاف رجال الأعمال والمستثمرين القطريين إلى الاطلاع على آخر ما وصلت إليه بيئة الأعمال والاستثمار في الأردن، وما تزخر به الخارطة الاستثمارية في المملكة من فرص واعدة، مؤكدة الحرص على توفير جميع التسهيلات اللازمة وسرعة الإجراءات، وبذل أقصى الجهود لجعل التجربة الاستثمارية في الأردن مميزة بعوائدها ونجاحها.

ومن جانبه أشاد السيد محمد بن طوار الكواري النائب الأول لرئيس غرفة قطر بالعلاقات الأخوية الوطيدة بين قطر والأردن، وقال في تصريحات على هامش الندوة إن القطاع الخاص القطري يتطلع إلى تعزيز علاقات التعاون والشراكة مع نظيره الأردني في مختلف القطاعات الاقتصادية، لافتا إلى أن السوق القطري يضم العديد من الشركات الأردنية التي تعمل في قطاعات متنوعة بملكية كاملة أو من خلال شراكات وتحالفات مع شركات قطرية.

وأشار إلى أن الأردن يعتبر بلدا جاذبا للاستثمار، وإن رجال الأعمال القطريين لديهم استثمارات متنوعة في الأردن وهنالك رغبة في تعزيز هذه الاستثمارات.
