Qatar Chamber Eyes Cooperation with Arab Women Investors Union

Doha: Qatar Chamber and Arab Women Investors Union discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the Chamber and the Union to strengthen cooperation between Qatari businesswomen and their counterparts in the Arab world.

This came during the meeting of Qatar Chamber’s First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari with President of the Arab Women Investors Union and Member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs Dr. Hoda Jalal Yassa.

Qatar Chamber’s First Vice-Chairman emphasized that the Chamber welcomes cooperation with the Union and seeks to foster collaboration between Qatari and Arab businesswomen. He assured that the Chamber is keen on empowering women and enhancing their role in the economic activity, highlighting that Qatari businesswomen have demonstrated efficiency and competitiveness, and became capable of competing alongside men in various economic fields.

He pointed out that the State of Qatar has numerous investments in many countries around the world, noting that Africa is one of the vital destinations for investment as it offers diverse investment opportunities in promising sectors.

For her part, Dr. Hoda Jalal presented an overview of the Union, which is an economic entity operating under the umbrella of the Arab League. She noted that it has development objectives at both the Arab and international levels, striving to achieve development projects, promote trade exchange and investment, provide incentives for women investors, and address any obstacles they encounter.

She also reviewed activities, initiatives, and events held by the Union, including the “Arab African Investment and International Cooperation” Conference & Exhibition, inviting the Chambers members and Qatari businesswomen to attend the 27th edition of the conference, scheduled for Nov.11-15, 2024, in Aswan, Egypt, expressing hope that the State of Qatar will be the honored guest of the event.

Furthermore, she emphasized the significance of fostering cooperation between Arabian and Gulf businesswomen and capitalizing on investment opportunities available in African and foreign countries, as well as in world economic blocs such as BRICS and others.

Qatar Chamber board member and Chairperson of the Qatari Businesswomen Forum Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani expressed that both the Chamber and the Qatari Businesswomen Forum welcome cooperation with the Union. She noted that Qatari women have achieved numerous accomplishments and attained high-level positions, thanks to the strong support of the Wise Leadership, which is committed to empowering women and enhancing their role in society.

She also stressed the importance of unifying the efforts of Arab businesswomen under one umbrella through the chambers of commerce to facilitate enhancing cooperation between Arab businesswomen and investors, noting that chambers are considered the official representatives of the private sector in all countries.

الدوحة: بحثت غرفة قطر و”اتحاد المستثمرات العرب”، تعزيز التعاون المشترك إيمانا منهما بالدور البارز لسيدات الأعمال القطريات والعربيات في تحقيق التنمية الاقتصادية.

جاء ذلك خلال اجتماع السيد محمد بن طوار الكواري النائب الأول لرئيس غرفة قطر مع الدكتورة هدى جلال يسى رئيس اتحاد المستثمرات العرب وعضو المجلس المصري للشئون الخارجية.

وقال بن طوار إن الغرفة ترحب بالتعاون مع الاتحاد وكذلك بتعزيز التعاون بين سيدات الأعمال القطريات ونظيراتهن العربيات انطلاقا من اهتمام الغرفة بتمكين المرأة وتعزيز دورها في النشاط الاقتصادي، منوها بأن سيدات الأعمال القطريات أثبتن كفاءتهن وجدارتهن وأصبحن ينافسن الرجال في مجالات أعمال متنوعة وكثيرة.

وأشار إلى أن دولة قطر لديها استثمارات كثيرة في دول عديدة حول العالم، لافتا إلى أن إفريقيا تعتبر من الوجهات المهمة للاستثمار وأنها توفر فرصا استثمارية متنوعة في قطاعات واعدة.

بدورها، قدمت الدكتورة هدى جلال يسى لمحة عن اتحاد المستثمرات العرب الذي يضم ممثلين من 17 دولة عربية، ونوهت بأنه كيان اقتصادي يعمل تحت مظلة جامعة الدول العربية وله أهداف تنموية على المستوى العربي والدولي، مشيرة إلى أنه يسعى إلى تحقيق مشاريع تنمية وتعزيز التبادل التجاري والاستثماري بين صاحبات الأعمال العربيات وتوفير تسهيلات للمستثمرات وحل كافة المعوقات التي تواجه الأعمال.

كما استعرضت يسى الأنشطة والمبادرات والفعاليات التي يقوم بها الاتحاد والتي من بينها مؤتمر ومعرض “الاستثمار العربي الإفريقي والتعاون الدولي”، ودعت غرفة قطر وصاحبات الأعمال القطريات للمشاركة في المؤتمر في دورته السابعة والعشرين التي تقام خلال الفترة من 11 إلى 15 نوفمبر 2024 بمدينة اسوان تحت شعار “القارة الإفريقية والدول العربية محور التنمية.. فرص وتحديات”، معربة عن أملها بأن تكون دولة قطر هي ضيف شرف المؤتمر.

وقالت إن قارة إفريقيا توفر فرصا ومزايا استثمارية كثيرة وثروات هائلة بما يفتح المجال أمام صاحبات الأعمال العربيات والقطريات إلى التعاون والاستثمار فيها في العديد من القطاعات الهامة، مشددة على رغبة الاتحاد في تعزيز التعاون مع الجانب القطري نظرا لأهمية قطر الاقتصادية عربيا ودوليا.

كما أكدت على أهمية تعزيز التعاون بين سيدات الأعمال العربيات والخليجيات للاستفادة من الفرص الاستثمارية المتاحة في الدول الإفريقية والأجنبية وفي التكتلات الاقتصادية من البريكس وغيرها.

وقالت السيدة ابتهاج الاحمداني عضو مجلس إدارة غرفة قطر ورئيس منتدى سيدات الأعمال القطريات إن الغرفة ومنتدى سيدات الأعمال القطريات يرحبان بالتعاون مع اتحاد المستثمرات العرب، منوهة بالإنجازات الكبيرة التي حققتها المرأة القطرية، حيث استطاعت أن تتبوأ مكانة متميزة وتحقق نجاحات كثيرة وتشغل مناصب عالية بفضل دعم القيادة الرشيدة والتي تسعى إلى تمكين المرأة وتسهيل دورها في المجتمع.

كما أكدت على أهمية توحيد الجهود لسيدات الأعمال العربيات نحو مظلة واحدة عن طريق غرف التجارة والتي تعتبر الممثل الرسمي للقطاع الخاص في كافة الدول وذلك لتسهيل عملية تعزيز التعاون بين سيدات الأعمال والمستثمرات العربيات.
