Key Decisions from Qatar Cabinet Meeting – January 24

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.

1. District Cooling Regulation:

   • Approval of a draft law regulating district cooling works and services.
   • Objective: Establish a comprehensive framework covering financial, technical, and legal aspects for the district cooling sector.
   • Empowers Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation to organize and manage district cooling activities.

2. Cooperative Aviation Security Program (CASP – MID) Phase III:

   • Qatar joins CASP – MID Phase III for enhanced aviation security.

3. International Cooperation Memos Approved:

   • Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for financial cooperation between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
   • MoU for health cooperation between Qatar and Costa Rica.
   • MoU on standardization, conformity assessment, and metrology between Qatar General Organization for Standards and Metrology (QS) and the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus (BELST).

4. Key Reports Reviewed:

   • Report on Qatar’s delegation participation in high-level meetings on pandemic preparedness, prevention, response, and universal health coverage.
   • Report on Qatar’s delegation participation in the 5th International Conference on Action with Women and Peace in the Republic of Korea.

برنامج أمن الطيران التعاوني (MID-CASP) المرحلة الثالثة:

• • قطر تنضم إلى MID-CASP المرحلة الثالثة لتعزيز أمان الطيران.

موافقة على مذكرات التفاهم الدولية:

• • مذكرة تفاهم للتعاون المالي بين قطر والسعودية.
  • مذكرة تفاهم للتعاون الصحي بين قطر وكوستاريكا.
  • مذكرة تفاهم للتعاون في مجالات التقييس وتقييم المطابقة والمترولوجيا بين الهيئة العامة القطرية للمواصفات والتقييس واللجنة الحكومية للمواصفات والتقييس في بيلاروس.
