Jassim Al Jassim, CEO of the Local Organizing Committee for the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, clarified that a Hayya card is not mandatory for entering Qatar during the tournament from January 12 to February 10. Citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, along with their vehicles, can enter Qatar without the Hayya card, and no additional proof such as match tickets or accommodation confirmation is required, similar to the procedures during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Al Jassim stated in an interview with Al Kass channel that the entry process at Abu Samra border crossing remains normal and is not subject to any specific changes for the AFC Asian Cup.
He further emphasized that the entry of vehicles is open as usual, unlike the specific regulations during the 2022 World Cup. The current situation is deemed normal and regular.
Regarding the optional and free preregistration for the Hayya card for the fast-track lane, Al Jassim mentioned that this service is available for citizens and residents of the GCC, aiming to facilitate smooth border crossing at the Abu Samra crossing and alleviate congestion.

أكد جاسم الجاسم، الرئيس التنفيذي للجنة التنظيم المحلية لكأس آسيا قطر 2023، أن بطاقة هيا ليست إلزامية لدخول دولة قطر خلال البطولة التي تمتد من 12 يناير إلى 10 فبراير. يمكن للمواطنين الخليجيين، مع سياراتهم، الدخول إلى قطر دون الحاجة إلى بطاقة هيا، ولا يتعين إثبات أي شيء إضافي مثل تذاكر المباريات أو تأكيد الإقامة، على غرار الإجراءات خلال كأس العالم 2022 في قطر.
وأشار الجاسم في مقابلة مع قناة الكاس إلى أن عملية الدخول في منفذ أبو سمرة تظل طبيعية ولا تخضع لأي تغييرات خاصة بكأس آسيا.
وأكد بشكل إضافي أن دخول السيارات مفتوح كالمعتاد، ولا يُطبق أي تنظيم خاص كما كان الحال في كأس العالم 2022. الوضع الحالي يعتبر عاديًا ومنتظمًا.
بالنسبة للتسجيل الاختياري والمجاني على بطاقة هيا لمسار السيارات السريع، ذكر الجاسم أن هذه الخدمة متاحة للمواطنين والمقيمين في مجلس التعاون الخليجي، بهدف تسهيل عملية عبور الحدود في منفذ أبو سمرة وتخفيف الازدحام.
