Al Markhiya Gallery Embraces Captivating Artworks of Artist Salman Al Malek

Doha: Al Markhiya Gallery at the Fire Station on Tuesday opened the exhibition of the Qatari artist, Salman Al Malek, themed: “Color Transformations, Realizations in Human Form”.

The exhibition showcases 47 artistic paintings professionally distributed to the hall of Al Markhiya Gallery and portrays a special journey in the massive imaginative worlds.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the meaning of the title of his masterpiece, Salman Al Malek pointed out that people who follow up on his artistic career will see that he boldly uses colors with extreme density, adding that through this current experience he wanted to excel and outperform himself by trying white and black colors with their varying degrees, granting the recipients the freedom to look for the latent colors in those colors, outlining that this experience is an attempt to explore for new colors and avoid recurrence.

In the same context, Al Malek stressed that such an experience is subject to addition and deletion, indicating that if the artist continued to offer the same thing, he would end up with artistic and innovative sterility, pointing out that his masterpiece which varies between the works he had accomplished in the last 10 years and heretofore, seek to add new features.

Drawing and painting are an existential matter, where artists find themselves since they have the potential to hold between 3 to 4 exhibitions, he said.

During these artworks, a new artistic form is showcased which is somehow different from artworks the audience has been accustomed to, Al Malek affirmed, adding that he has recently reached a new artistic station after he has been depicting women’s traditional cloak, now he pivots towards more universal dimensions targeting the human in general away from woman as a basic individual.

Al Malek said he has resorted to other words that vividly help enrich the paintings with visual stimulation which are captivating artworks for recipients, adding that he strives to discover the colors in the paintings through visual imagination.

He outlined that the visual artworks in the Qatari cultural scene are unique compared to the other artistic expressions and cultures, confirming that he never misses artistic events held across the country, as the key challenge is to showcase a distinguished artwork that touches upon life and beauty. He hailed the role of Al Markhiya Gallery in organizing this exhibition, along with the roles of the private and public sectors performed in the cultural venue in general and the artwork in particular through encouraging the innovators.

In remarks to QNA, the artistic Youssef Ahmed Ali lauded the artworks of Al Malek and his artistic trailblazing locally and globally, adding that Al Malek is one of the most renowned Qatari artists and a pioneer of the artwork, and it is not strange for the audience to be introduced to the artworks of this mature artist the owner of the enriched experience.

ويقدم المالك عبر 47 لوحة فنية، تم توزيعها بشكل احترافي على قاعة المعرض بجاليري المرخية ، رحلة خاصة، في عوالم خياله الواسع والمتدفق.

وحول دلالة عنوان المعرض (تحولات اللون..)، لفت سلمان المالك في تصريح لوكالة الأنباء القطرية قنا، إلى أن المتابع لمسيرته الفنية يرى أنه يستخدم الألوان بكثافة وجرأة، وأنه من خلال التجربة الحالية، أراد التفوق على نفسه بخوض تجربة اللونين الأبيض والأسود وتدرجاتهما، وترك المتلقي حرية البحث عن الألوان المختبئة داخل هذين اللونين، فضلا على أن ذلك هو محاولة لطرق الجديد والهروب من منطقة التكرار في التجربة ذاتها.

وفي السياق ذاته، شدد على أنه من خلال ما سبق، يتحرك داخل التجربة ذاتها بالإضافة والحذف، منبها في الوقت نفسه إلى أن الفنان إذا استمر في تقديم الشيء نفسه، فإنه يصل إلى مرحلة العقم الفني والإبداعي.

وأشار المالك إلى أن معرضه الذي يتنوع ما بين أعمال أنجزها قبل أكثر من 10 سنوات خلت إلى الوقت الحالي، يسعى إلى الجديد والتجديد، مبينا أنه من خلال معارضه المتعاقبة، والتي كان آخرها معرضه الشخصي قبل خمس سنوات في القاعة ذاتها، يرسم يوميا بصفة مستمرة، مؤكدا في الوقت نفسه أن الرسم عنده مسألة وجودية، حيث يجد ذاته ونفسه، ولديه إمكانية لإقامة ما بين 3 و4 معارض.

وقال: “خلال هذه الأعمال، أقدم شكلا فنيا جديدا قد يكون مختلفا بعض الشيء عما اعتاده الجمهور مني، حيث وصلت مؤخرا إلى محطة فنية جديدة، فبينما كنت أستعين بشكل المرأة بعباءتها التقليدية أصبحت الآن أتجه إلى أبعاد أكثر عالمية تستهدف الإنسان بعموميته، بعيدا عن المرأة كمفردة أساسية، كما اتجهت كذلك لمفردات أخرى تساعد في تطعيم اللوحة بالإثارة البصرية والمتعة للناظر، كما أسعى لاكتشاف الألوان في اللوحة عبر الخيال البصري، فرغم ضبابيتها هناك بصيص من الأمل ومحاولة لتلمس المقصود من قبل المشاهد”.

كما أوضح المالك أن الفنون البصرية في المشهد الثقافي القطري متفردة مقارنة بباقي التعبيرات الفنية والثقافية الأخرى؛ إذ لا يكاد يمر أسبوع إلا وبه فعالية فنية هنا أو هناك، لافتا في الوقت نفسه إلى أن التحدي الذي يفرض نفسه هو تقديم فن تشكيلي متميز، يبحث في الحياة والجمال وكيفية إخراج لوحة ذات قيمة، مشددا على أن الرهان على الفن التشكيلي رهان رابح.

وأشاد بدور جاليري المرخية في تنظيم هذا المعرض، وبدور القطاعين العام والخاص في المشهد الثقافي عموما والتشكيلي خصوصا من خلال تشجيع المبدعين.

من جانبه، أثنى الفنان التشكيلي يوسف أحمد على ما قدمه زميله سلمان المالك، وعلى تجربته الفنية الرائدة محليا وعالميا. وقال في تصريح مماثل لـ قنا: إن سلمان المالك يعد من أهم فناني قطر ورائدا من رواد تشكيليي قطر، ولا غرابة أن يشاهد الجمهور هذا الفنان الناضج صاحب التجربة الثرية.

وقال: “الجميل في هذا المعرض هو تقديم أعمال من أزمنة مختلفة خلال مسيرته الفنية، حيث نجد عنصر المرأة وزيها الشعبي البدوي باديا للعيان بألوانه.. كما أن له شخصيته وبصمته الخاصة والمتفردة، وأشعر في أعماله بروح “الجرافيكية” فيما يقدمه من فن، خاصة في اللونين الأبيض والأسود وحلول الرمادي، وهذه منطقة يخشاها العديد من الفنانين. لكن سلمان من خلال خبراته وتجاربه السابقة، فإنه يعتبر موسوعة في استخدام هذين اللونين”.

جدير بالذكر أن الفنان سلمان المالك فنان بصري قطري ورسام كاريكاتير معروف، شارك في العديد من المعارض على الصعيدين المحلي والدولي، بما فيها مجموعة متحف مقاطعة لوس أنجلوس للفنون.
