Saudi Minister of Tourism, Ahmed bin Aqil al-Khateeb, announced that the Gulf Cooperation Council officially adopted the Unified Tourist Visa. Al-Khatib added that the Gulf Council instructed interior ministers to take the necessary measures to implement the Unified Tourist Visa.
He explained that the decision is a historic step reflecting the commitment to enhancing cooperation and deepening ties in tourism and various sectors. It will elevate the Gulf countries’ status as a distinguished global tourist destination, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
al-Khateeb emphasized that the visa’s adoption aligns with the developmental progress in the Gulf countries on various fronts. It will have a significant impact on strengthening the desired interconnection and integration among the member states.
He added, “This visa will facilitate the movement of tourists and visitors between the Gulf countries, thereby enhancing the role of tourism as an economic growth driver. It will also open new investment opportunities in the tourism sector for each member state.” At the same time, he affirmed the Saudi Ministry of Tourism’s commitment to close collaboration with its Gulf counterparts to ensure the best implementation and coordination of this initiative, serving both the tourism and economic sectors in the region.

أعلن وزير السياحة السعودي، أحمد بن عقيل الخطيب، أن المجلس الأعلى لدول مجلس التعاون الخليجي اعتمد رسميًا التأشيرة السياحية الموحدة. وأضاف الخطيب أن المجلس الخليجي وجه وزراء الداخلية باتخاذ الإجراءات الضرورية لتنفيذ التأشيرة السياحية الموحدة.
وشرح الخطيب أن هذا القرار يعد خطوة تاريخية تعكس التزامها بتعزيز التعاون وتعميق الروابط في مجال السياحة والقطاعات المختلفة. سيؤسس لمكانة دول الخليج كوجهة سياحية عالمية متميزة، وفقًا لوكالة الأنباء السعودية (واس).
أكد الخطيب أن اعتماد هذه التأشيرة يتماشى مع التقدم التنموي الذي تشهده دول المجلس على مختلف الجبهات، وسيكون لها تأثير كبير في تعزيز الترابط المرغوب والتكامل بين الدول الأعضاء.
وأضاف: “ستسهم هذه التأشيرة في تسهيل تنقل السياح والزوار بين دول المجلس، معززة بذلك دور السياحة كمحرك للنمو الاقتصادي. كما ستفتح فرصاً جديدة للاستثمار في قطاع السياحة في كل من الدول الأعضاء”. وفي الوقت نفسه، أكد على حرص وزارة السياحة في المملكة على التعاون الوثيق مع نظرائها في وزارات السياحة الخليجية لضمان تنفيذ وتنسيق هذه الخطوة بأفضل السبل وما يخدم القطاعين السياحي والاقتصادي في المنطقة.
