Katara Centre for Public Diplomacy Holds European Language Activities

Doha: The Katara Public Diplomacy Center held another episode of the European Language activities, organised by the Katara Cultural Village Foundation in its Building 15, in cooperation with the European Union Delegation to the State of Qatar and the embassies of Romania and Moldova in Qatar.

In this context, HE Ambassador of Romania to the State of Qatar Nicusor Daniel Tanase said that the European Language activities serve as a valuable opportunity to introduce the Romanian culture and language, a Romance language that shares many similarities and characteristics with the other Romance languages of Italian, French, Spanish, and Portuguese that are spread across Western and Central Europe, whereas the Romanian language is spoken in the eastern flank of the European continent.

For his part, HE Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the State of Qatar Lulian Grigorita said that this event organized by Katara aims to deepen understanding of European culture and language, pointing out that the Romanian language is spoken in both Romania and Moldova.

His Excellency praised Katara’s efforts in introducing the culture and language of Moldova, considering it a step reflecting a spirit of culture, art, and creativity.

Last May, Katara launched the European language activities, in cooperation with the European Union Delegation to the State of Qatar and the embassies of European countries in Qatar, with each country organizing its own activities on a dedicated day, with activities varying between practical workshops and theoretical lectures on language and culture.

Through organizing these activities, Katara seeks to introduce the famous cultural and linguistic diversity of the European continent and highlight the important role that language plays in fostering a cultural exchange.

الدوحة: يواصل مركز كتارا للدبلوماسية العامة، فعالية اللغة الأوروبية بالقاعة (15) التي تنظمها المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي “كتارا” بالتعاون مع بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي وسفارتي رومانيا ومولدوفا في قطر.

وفي هذا السياق، قال سعادة السيد نيكوسور دانيل تانسي سفير رومانيا لدى الدولة : تقدم فعالية اللغة الأوروبية فرصة قيمة للتعريف بالثقافة واللغة الرومانية التي تعتبر من عائلة لغة الرومان.. لافتا إلى أن اللغة الرومانية تتميز باحتوائها على العديد من المشتركات مع اللغات الأخرى، لكن السبب في عدم انتشارها يعود إلى موقع رومانيا في أقصى شرق أوروبا، بينما اشتهرت لغات الدول التي تعد جزءا من الرومانية كالفرنسية والإيطالية لأنها تقع في قلب أوروبا.

من جهته، أوضح سعادة السيد لوليان غريجوريتا، سفير جمهورية مولدوفا لدى الدولة أن فعالية اللغة الأوروبية التي تنظمها كتارا تهدف إلى تعميق الفهم للثقافة واللغة الأوروبية، مشيرا إلى أن اللغة الرومانية تتحدث بها الشعوب في كل من رومانيا ومولدوفا.

وأشاد سعادته بجهود كتارا التي تعكس روح الثقافة والفن والإبداع، مثمنا مساعيها في التعريف بثقافة ولغة مولدوفا التي تعد جسرا للتواصل الثقافي والمعرفي بين الشعوب والتقريب بينها.

يشار إلى أن كتارا أطلقت منذ مايو الماضي، فعاليات اللغة الأوروبية، بالتعاون مع بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي وسفارات الدول الأوروبية لدى قطر، حيث تستعرض كل دولة في اليوم المخصص لها، أنشطتها التي تتنوع بين الورش العملية والمحاضرات النظرية عن اللغة والثقافة.

وتسعى كتارا من خلال إطلاقها لهذه الفعاليات إلى فتح نوافذ ثقافية وحضارية مهمة للتعريف بالتنوع الثقافي واللغوي الذي تشتهر به قارة أوروبا، مؤكدة على أهمية اللغات بوصفها جسرا للتواصل والتقارب بين الثقافات.
