Apple Watch to Gain Blood Pressure Monitoring

Washington: Apple plans to add blood pressure monitoring to its Apple Watch with an updated design in 2024, according to Bloomberg.

The next-generation Apple Watch will include a sensor to detect when your blood pressure rises. This feature will help in diagnosing hypertension and monitoring patients with high blood pressure.

According to a Bloomberg report, it wont show exact systolic and diastolic measurements, but Apple does have plans to add that in future versions of the Apple Watch.

Also coming in 2024 is an Apple Watch-based sleep apnea detection feature. According to the report, it will use sleep and breathing patterns to estimate whether someone has the condition, and then direct users to see a physician.
As previously reported, Apple is also working on non-invasive blood glucose monitoring. Apple’s system is said to use a silicon photonics chip to shine light from a laser under the skin to determine the concentration of glucose in the body. However, this feature is unlikely to show up in a product for “at least a few years,” according to Bloomberg, citing people with knowledge of the efforts.

Apple is expected to launch the 10th generation of its smartwatch in 2024 and is keen to make it as distinct as possible.
Away from Apple Watch, Apple is also said to be on course to bring hearing aid detection to AirPods in 2024, Bloomberg added.

وكانت تقارير صحفية سابقة قد أشارت إلى أن آبل تعمل على تطوير خاصية لقياس نسبة السكر في الدم دون الحاجة إلى أخذ عينة من الدم عبر استخدام نوع خاص من الحساسات البصرية، إلا أن تلك الخاصية لا تزال في مراحل التطوير الأولية، وقد تستغرق عدة سنوات قبل طرحها، بحسب ما ذكرت بلومبيرج نقلا عن مصادر مطلعة.

ومن المنتظر أن تطرح آبل الجيل العاشر من ساعتها الذكية خلال عام 2024 المقبل، وتحرص آبل أن يكون ذلك الإصدار مميزا بكافة الطرق الممكنة.

وفي سياق متصل، ذكرت الصحيفة الأمريكية أن الشركة تعمل على توفير أدوات مساعدة للسمع للمصابين بضعف في حاسة السمع في الإصدارات القادمة من سماعات AirPods.
