In the third quarter of 2023, Hamad International Airport achieved remarkable success, with a notable increase in passenger traffic and significant growth in various destinations. Notable hubs such as Heathrow, Bangkok, Colombo, Cairo, and Manila were among the busiest destinations contributing to the airport’s success. Additionally, the airport witnessed substantial growth in destinations like Guangzhou and Hangzhou in China, Al Qassem in Saudi Arabia, Gatwick in the UK, and Denpasar Bali in Indonesia.

Compared to the same period in the previous year, Hamad International Airport reported a remarkable 26.84% increase in passenger traffic, continuing its trend of consistent growth, with a 44.5% increase in Q1 and a 24% increase in Q2. During Q3, the airport welcomed a total of 12,706,475 passengers, with 4,305,391 passengers in July, 4,398,427 in August, and 4,002,657 in September.

Aircraft movements also increased significantly, with 67,285 movements during this period, marking a 24.48% increase from the previous year. Cargo operations at the airport experienced a 3.38% growth, totaling 590,725 tons of cargo in Q3. The airport handled 194,268 tons of cargo in July, 195,773 tons in August, and 200,683 tons in September.

Hamad International Airport demonstrated its commitment to expansion by introducing new destinations such as Lyon and Toulouse in France and resuming flights to Birmingham, Chengdu, and Chongqing. The airport maintained successful partnerships with 38 airlines operating during Q3.
