Geneva International Motor Show Qatar Closes with Remarkable Attendance of 180,000 Visitors over 10 Days

Doha: Qatar Tourism inaugurated the first edition of the long-awaited Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) Qatar, drawing in more than 1,000 journalists from over 50 countries and 180,000 visitors over 10 days.

The Geneva International Motor Show took place outside of Switzerland for the very first time in the exhibition since its inception in 1905.

Set at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC), the celebrated motor show ran from October 5 to 14 and saw the strong presence of 30 exhibitors who collectively unveiled 29 regional launches and 12 world premieres.

The inaugural edition closed its doors at 22:00 on October 14 to the sound of horns honking, a prized Geneva International Motor Show tradition.

Speaking on the resounding success of the exhibition, HE Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, Deputy Chairman at Qatar Tourism, said: “We are delighted to have led efforts to bring to Qatar one of the most elite exhibitions in the automotive industry and demonstrate Qatars ability to host large-scale events. Spread over 10,000 m2 at the DECC, the Geneva International Motor Show Qatar offered a unique platform for automotive experts to present cutting-edge technologies, designs, and concepts. Beyond the exhibition halls, the motor show extended to a country-wide festival of automotive excellence with a Future Design Forum held at the National Museum of Qatar, the Track Days at the newly renovated Lusail International Circuit, off-roading experiences at the Sealine Adventure Hub and a Parade of Excellence at the Urban Playground created in the family-friendly Lusail Boulevard.

The organisers and founding partners of GIMS Qatar expressed their profound satisfaction with the results and the overwhelming attendance. Exhibitors were equally delighted with the exceptional set-up, logistics, and significant footfall.

GIMS Qatar will return in November 2025. Prior to that, automotive enthusiasts worldwide can look forward to the next edition of GIMS at Palexpo, Geneva, from February 26 to March 3, 2024.

الدوحة: اختتمت النسخة الأولى من معرض جنيف الدولي للسيارات قطر 2023 فعالياتها، مسجلة حضورا بواقع 180000 زائر على مدى عشرة أيام.

ونظمت قطر للسياحة النسخة الأولى من المعرض الذي استقطب أكثر من 1000 صحفي من أكثر من 50 دولة.

وقد أقيم معرض السيارات الشهير في مركز الدوحة للمعارض والمؤتمرات خلال الفترة من 5 حتى 14 أكتوبر الجاري، حيث شهد حضورا قويا لـ 30 عارضا كشفوا عن 29 سيارة جديدة إقليميا و12 سيارة عالميا.

وأعرب سعادة السيد سعد بن علي الخرجي، نائب رئيس قطر للسياحة، عن سعادته بالجهود الرامية لجلب أحد أرقى المعارض في صناعة السيارات إلى قطر، وإظهار قدرة قطر على استضافة فعاليات ضخمة، مشيرا إلى أن مرافق المؤتمرات الحديثة بالدولة، بالإضافة إلى سياسات السفر الميسرة وعروض الضيافة الموسعة تجعل قطر خيارا مثاليا للشركات التي تفكر في وجهة دولية لإقامة فعالياتها، كما أن الاحتفال بالتميز في قطاع السيارات، والذي أقيم في أماكن متعددة، يوضح التوافق السلس الذي تتمتع به البلاد والتزامها برؤية مشتركة واحدة لدفع قطر إلى الساحة الدولية”.

وأعرب المنظمون والشركاء المؤسسون لمعرض جنيف الدولي للسيارات في قطر عن رضاهم بالإعداد الاستثنائي واللوجستيات والإقبال الكبير للمعرض الذي أقيم على أرض قطر وخارج حدود سويسرا للمرة الأولى منذ تأسيسه في العام 1905.

ووفر المعرض، الذي امتد على مساحة تزيد عن 10000 متر مربع، منصة فريدة لخبراء السيارات لتقديم أحدث التقنيات والتصميمات والمفاهيم، حيث امتد المعرض ليشمل مهرجانا للتميز في مجال السيارات على مستوى الدولة، من خلال ملتقى التصميم المستقبلي الذي أقيم في متحف قطر الوطني، ومركز الأداء في حلبة لوسيل الدولية للسباقات التي تم ترميمها حديثا، وكذلك تجارب القيادة في الطرق الوعرة في ملتقى المغامرة في سيلين، وأخيرا مسير التميز في ملتقى ملعب المدينة الذي تم إنشاؤه في درب لوسيل.

وسيعود معرض جنيف الدولي للسيارات إلى قطر في نوفمبر 2025، وقبل ذلك، يمكن لعشاق السيارات في جميع أنحاء العالم التطلع إلى النسخة التالية من معرض جنيف الدولي للسيارات التي ستقام في جنيف، من 26 فبراير إلى 3 مارس 2024.

وقال السيد ساندرو ميسكيتا الرئيس التنفيذي لمعرض جنيف الدولي للسيارات: “لسنوات عدة، سمح معرض جنيف لعظماء ورواد صناعة السيارات بالتواصل وتبادل الأفكار وبناء مستقبل هذا القطاع”، مضيفا: “لقد كان أيضا المكان المناسب لإظهار ما نسميه “التميز في مجال السيارات”، سواء كان ذلك علامة تجارية فاخرة تعرض أحدث سياراتها الفائقة، أو شركة ناشئة تدخل السوق، أو شركة تصنيع سيارات عالمية كبرى تكشف النقاب عن استراتيجيتها في مجال السيارات الكهربائية” .. مشيرا إلى أن هذه المرة الأولى يقام فيها معرض جنيف بقطر.

وأغلقت النسخة الافتتاحية للمعرض الذي نظم بالدوحة لأول مرة في تاريخه العريق الذي يعود إلى مئة عام، أبوابه على صوت أبواق السيارات، وهو تقليد شهير في معرض جنيف الدولي للسيارات.
