Doha: The inflation rate in Qatar witnessed a slowdown in September, with a 1.8% year-on-year increase compared to the 2.38% recorded in August.
In a statement on its website, the Planning and Statistics Authority reported that prices increased in 8 out of 12 groups of goods and services covered by the country’s consumer price index.
These price increases affected education, food and beverages, entertainment and culture, clothing and footwear, transportation, as well as other goods and services, furniture and household appliances, and restaurants and hotels.
On the other hand, prices in the communications group decreased by 0.23%, while there were no changes in the tobacco group, housing, water, electricity, gas, other fuels, and healthcare, according to the statement.
In contrast to August when inflation rose by 2.38% annually, it decreased on a monthly basis.
According to the Planning Authority’s report at that time, the general consumer price index in Qatar in August registered a 2.38% increase.
The index, which measures inflation, encompasses 12 main groups of consumer goods, comprising 737 items and services.

وفي بيان نشرته الهيئة العامة للتخطيط والإحصاء على موقعها الإلكتروني، أشارت إلى أن الأسعار ارتفعت في 8 من أصل 12 مجموعة من السلع والخدمات المشمولة بمؤشر الأسعار للمستهلك في البلاد.
شملت هذه الزيادة في الأسعار مجموعات التعليم والغذاء والمشروبات والترفيه والثقافة والملابس والأحذية والنقل، فضلاً عن مجموعة السلع والخدمات الأخرى ومجموعة الأثاث والأجهزة المنزلية ومجموعة المطاعم والفنادق.
ومن ناحية أخرى، انخفضت الأسعار في مجموعة الاتصالات بنسبة 0.23%، بينما لم تسجل أي تغييرات في مجموعات التبغ والسكن والماء والكهرباء والغاز وأنواع الوقود الأخرى ومجموعة الصحة، وفقًا للبيان.
