Ministry of Sports and Youth, Samsung Launch AI Educational Course

Doha: Samsung Gulf Electronics, in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Youth and Youth Entrepreneur Club, today announced the launch of the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), for the first time in Qatar, bringing its signature Artificial Intelligence (AI) course to the country.
The introduction of SIC, Samsung’s global citizenship program in the country supports Qatar Vision 2030, which has digital transformation as a key tenet.
Samsung stated that it will provide an educational course held under the theme “Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People”, the 3-month course provides a unique opportunity for determined learners with a STEAM background in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics to build on their knowledge in machine learning and establish a strong understanding of the fundamentals of AI and its related applications.
An MoU establishing SIC Qatar was signed between Samsung and the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and the Youth Entrepreneur Club on October 5 in Doha.
President of Samsung Gulf Electronics, DooHee Lee, said: “The transformative power of AI is reshaping the world, and at Samsung, we are dedicated to inspiring the next generation of AI experts who will play a pivotal role in shaping industries, fostering societal progress, and driving digital economies forward.’ He added, “The launch of our Innovation Campus in Qatar takes this vision forward. Bolstered by our partners’ support, we are excited to embark on a new journey of growth and education in Qatar.” For his part, President of Youth Entrepreneur Club, Ibrahim Khaled Al Sulaiti, said that in an era where artificial intelligence is reshaping industries worldwide, young professionals must cultivate skills that ensure their relevance and adaptability in the face of swift technological advancements, noting his excitement to partner with Samsung and contribute to this program of equipping youth in Qatar with the most relevant skills.
The course’s specialized curriculum will teach participants about the prominent tools and applications in AI and machine learning-related workplaces. Following an introduction to AI and machine learning, successful applicants will benefit from interactions with an expert instructor, as well as live online sessions, to develop a clear understanding of technical processes. The course is delivered through a blended learning, self-paced format, with participants given exercises for each module and access to content presentations and pre-recorded videos covering statistics, algorithms, and programming.
By the end of the course, students will be able to understand the statistical and mathematical foundation of machine learning, comprehend the utility of Python and the libraries used for machine learning algorithms, the application of these algorithms to real data sets, and learn to build projects while following the data science lifecycle.
To achieve a certificate of completion, participants will also be expected to attend the course and complete the tasks and quizzes required to demonstrate their progress.
Both Samsung and the Ministry of Sports and Youth noted that those interested participants can take an exciting next step towards empowering their future by enrolling before Oct. 26, 2023, application deadline.
A number of conditions have been set for admission, including completion of high school-level STEM courses or higher education is an entry requirement, as is proficiency in linear algebra and the basics of programming, calculus, and the probability theory.

الدوحة: أعلنت شركة سامسونج جلف للإلكترونيات، بالتعاون مع وزارة الرياضة والشباب ونادي رواد الأعمال الشباب، اليوم عن إطلاق /برنامج سامسونج للابتكار/ لأول مرة في قطر، لتقديم دورة تعليمية في مجال الذكاء الاصطناعي للشباب القطري.
وسيدعم هذا البرنامج المجتمعي العالمي الرائد رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030 التي تتمحور حول التحول الرقمي بشكل أساسي.
وأفادت سامسونج بأنها ستوفر خلال البرنامج، وهو دورة تعليمية تقام تحت شعار /معا من أجل الغد! تمكين المواهب الشابة/ وتمتد لـ3 أشهر، منصة مثلى للمشاركين الذين يتمتعون بخلفية معرفية جيدة في مجالات العلوم والتكنولوجيا والهندسة والرياضيات، لتوسيع معارفهم في مجال تعلم الآلة واكتساب مهارات وخبرات جديدة حول أساسيات الذكاء الاصطناعي والتطبيقات ذات الصلة.
وكانت سامسونج، قد وقعت في الخامس من الشهر الجاري، مذكرة تفاهم مع وزارة الرياضة والشباب ونادي رواد الأعمال الشباب لإطلاق /برنامج سامسونج للابتكار/ في الدوحة.
وقال دوهي لي، رئيس شركة سامسونج جلف للإلكترونيات في تصريح اليوم، إن “الذكاء الاصطناعي يتمتع بقوى قادرة على تحويل العالم كليا من حولنا، ونحن في سامسونج ملتزمون بإلهام الجيل القادم من خبراء الذكاء الاصطناعي ممن سيقومون بدور أساسي في صياغة مستقبل القطاعات، وتحفيز التقدم المجتمعي، ودفع عجلة الاقتصاد الرقمية في دولة قطر”.
وأضاف: “يسهم إطلاق برنامج سامسونج للابتكار في قطر في الارتقاء بهذه الرؤية، ونحن متحمسون للانطلاق في رحلة جديدة للنمو والتعلم في الدولة بدعم من شركائنا المتميزين”.
من جانبه، قال إبراهيم خالد السليطي، رئيس نادي رواد الأعمال الشباب، إن الذكاء الاصطناعي اليوم، يسهم في تغيير ملامح مختلف القطاعات حول العالم، مما يحتم على الشباب المتخصصين في هذا المجال اكتساب المهارات التي تضمن لهم مواكبة عجلة التطورات التكنولوجية المتسارعة، منوها بأن التعاون مع سامسونج والمساهمة في هذا البرنامج، سيسهم في تزويد الشباب في قطر بالمهارات الأكثر صلة بالواقع التكنولوجي.
ومن خلال المناهج الدراسية المتخصصة، سيتعرف المشاركون على أهم الأدوات والتطبيقات في مجال الذكاء الاصطناعي وبيئات العمل المتعلقة بتعلم الآلة. وستتاح للمتدربين فرصة التواصل مع خبراء الذكاء الاصطناعي، إضافة إلى حضور جلسات افتراضية مباشرة، ليكتسبوا فهما شاملا حول عمليات التكنولوجيا. وتتبع الدورة نموذج التعلم المختلط والتقدم الذاتي، مع إعطاء المشاركين تمارين لكل وحدة، بالإضافة إلى عروض تقديمية ومحاضرات تغطي جوانب الإحصاءات والخوارزميات والبرمجة.
وبحلول نهاية البرنامج، سيكون الطلاب قد كونوا معرفة جيدة حول الأساس الإحصائي والرياضي لتعلم الآلة، إضافة إلى التعرف على فوائد لغة /بايثون/ البرمجية والمكتبات المستخدمة في خوارزميات تعلم الآلة، وتطبيق هذه الخوارزميات على مجموعات البيانات الحقيقية، فضلا عن تعلم كيفية بناء المشاريع أثناء متابعة دورة حياة علوم البيانات.
ويتطلب الحصول على شهادة استكمال الدورة حضور المشاركين وإكمال المهام والاختبارات المطلوبة منهم والتي تثبت اكتسابهم المعرفة والخبرات اللازمة.
ونوهت كل من سامسونج ووزارة الرياضة والشباب، بأنه يمكن للمهتمين باكتساب مهارات وخبرات متنوعة تدعم مستقبلهم المهني، التسجيل في الدورة التعليمية الجديدة قبل الموعد النهائي لتقديم الطلبات في 26 أكتوبر الجاري.
وتم وضع عدد من الشروط من أجل الالتحاق، من بينها إتمام دورة تدريبية في مجالات العلوم والتكنولوجيا والهندسة والرياضيات على مستوى المدرسة الثانوية أو التعليم العالي، وكذلك امتلاك الكفاءة في مجالات الجبر الخطي وأساسيات البرمجة وحساب التفاضل والتكامل ونظرية الاحتمالات.
