Qatar’s August 2023 Tourism Numbers

Doha: The total number of inbound visitors reached about 264 thousand, recording a monthly decrease of 8.5 percent (compared to July 2023) and recorded an annual increase of 78 percent (compared to August 2022).

The highest number of visitors was from the GCC Countries at 43 percent. As for visitors by type of port, the visitors via Air make up the highest percentage with 62 percent of the total number of visitors, according to the Planning and Statistics Authority’s (PSA) Qatar; Monthly Statistics bulletin.

One of the most prominent changes in this issue is an increase in total number of ships arriving at Qatar’s ports during August by 10.3 percent compared to July 2023, while the total net tonnage of ships recorded an increase of 22.1 percent compared to July 2023.

As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about QR 685 billion during August 2023, an annual increase of 1.0 percent compared with August 2022. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for QR 928 billion during August 2023. The figure has recorded an annual decrease of 4.7percent compared to August 2022, when deposits recorded approximately QR 973 billion.

Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2261 live births have been registered during August 2023. Also, a decrease in the total Qatari live births by 3.3 percent comparing to last month. On the other hand, 204 deaths were recorded during the same period, a decrease of 6.4 percent compared to July 2023.

As for the Social Security statements, reached QR 78 million in August 2023, for 14488 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly decrease of 3.6 percent for the value of social security and a monthly decrease of 0.2 percent for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.

Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 666 permits during August 2023, recording a monthly increase of 5 percent and an annual decrease of 15.1 percent.

The total number of registered new vehicles during August 2023 has reached 7545 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly increase of 22.8 percent and showed an annual decrease of 14.6 percent.

Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 589 traffic cases were recorded during August 2023, showing a monthly decrease of 1.0 percent and an annual decrease by 14.0 percent. Light injuries are accounted for most traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 93 percent, followed by severe injuries by 5 percent.

However, 11 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2 percent of total traffic accidents cases.

الدوحة: قفز إجمالي عدد الزوار الوافدين إلى دولة قطر بنسبة 78 بالمئة خلال شهر أغسطس الماضي على أساس سنوي قياسا بالفترة ذاتها من العام الماضي ليصل إلى حوالي 264 ألف زائر، فيما سجل انخفاضا شهريا قدره 8.5 بالمئة مقارنة بشهر يوليو 2023.

وأفاد العدد الجديد من نشرة /قطر إحصاءات شهرية/ التي يصدرها جهاز التخطيط والإحصاء، اليوم، بأن عدد الزوار القادمين من دول مجلس التعاون مثل 43 بالمئة من إجمالي عدد الزائرين، أما فيما يخص الزوار حسب نوع المنفذ فقد شكل الزوار عن طريق الجو النسبة الأعلى مستقبلا 62 بالمئة من إجمالي عدد الزوار.

ومن أبرز المتغيرات التي رصدتها النشرة خلال شهر أغسطس الماضي، ارتفاع إجمالي السفن القادمة لموانئ قطر خلال أغسطس بمعدل 10.3 بالمئة قياسا مع شهر يوليو 2023، فيما سجل إجمالي الحمولة الصافية للسفن ارتفاعا بمقدار 22.1 بالمئة مقارنة بشهر يوليو 2023.

أما بشأن القطاع المصرفي، فقد بلغت قيمة عرض النقد الواسع (2) حوالي 685 مليار ريال خلال شهر أغسطس 2023 مسجلة بذلك ارتفاعا سنويا بلغت نسبته 1 بالمئة مقارنة بشهر أغسطس 2022، بينما بلغت قيمة شبه النقد الذي يشمل ودائع البنوك التجارية حوالي 928 مليار ريال خلال شهر أغسطس 2023 مسجلا بذلك انخفاضا سنويا بلغت نسبته 4.7 بالمئة مقارنة بشهر أغسطس 2022، حيث كان إجمالي الودائع حينها حوالي 973 مليار ريال.

وفيما يخص الإحصاءات الحيوية فقد بلغ إجمالي المواليد أحياء 2261 مولودا خلال شهر أغسطس 2023، وسجل إجمالي المواليد الأحياء القطريين انخفاضا بنسبة 3.3 بالمئة عن الشهر الماضي، في حين بلغ إجمالي عدد الوفيات 204 حالات وفاة مسجلة انخفاضا بنسبة 6.4 بالمئة عن شهر يوليو 2023.

أما عن بيانات الضمان الاجتماعي فقد بلغت قيمتها 78 مليون ريال في أغسطس 2023 لعدد 14488 مستفيدا مسجلا انخفاضا شهريا قدره 3.6 بالمئة لقيمة الضمان الاجتماعي كما شهد انخفاضا شهريا بلغ 0.2 بالمئة لعدد المستفيدين من الضمان الاجتماعي.

وفيما يخص بيانات رخص البناء الصادرة، فقد بلغ إجمالي عددها 666 رخصة خلال أغسطس 2023 مسجلة بذلك ارتفاعا شهريا بلغت نسبته 5 بالمئة، وانخفاضا سنويا قدره 15.1 بالمئة.

وفيما يتعلق بالمركبات الجديدة المسجلة، فقد أوضحت النشرة أن مجموع المركبات المسجلة خلال شهر أغسطس 2023 بلغ 7545 مركبة جديدة مسجلة بذلك ارتفاعا شهريا بنسبة 22.8 بالمئة، وانخفاضا سنويا بنسبة قدرها 14.6 بالمئة.

وبالنسبة للبيانات المتعلقة بقضايا الحوادث المرورية دون احتساب الحوادث بلا إصابات، فقد بلغ إجمالي عددها 589 خلال شهر أغسطس 2023، مسجلا بذلك انخفاضا شهريا بنسبة 1 بالمئة، كما سجلت انخفاضا سنويا قدره 14 بالمئة، وقد سجلت الإصابات الخفيفة الغالبية العظمى من قضايا الحوادث المرورية خلال نفس الشهر بنسبة 93 بالمئة تليها الإصابات البليغة بنسبة 5 بالمئة، أما بالنسبة للوفيات فقد بلغت 11 حالة وفاة تعادل 2 بالمئة فقط من إجمالي قضايا الحوادث المرورية.
