Ashghal Completes Phases 1 & 3 of Roads and Infrastructure Development Project in South Al Meshaf

Doha: The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced the completion of packages 1 and 3 of the Roads and Infrastructure Development Project for Citizens’ Subdivisions in South Al Meshaf, implemented in accordance with Ashghal’s plan to provide an integrated infrastructure to allow citizens build their homes on their dedicated land plots.

Eng. Ahmed Al Obaidly, Ashghal’s Head of South Areas’ Section at the Roads Projects Department, confirmed that the Roads and Infrastructure Development Project for Citizens’ Subdivisions in South Al Meshaf is one of the projects implemented by the Authority in Al Wakra Municipality, and aims to accommodate the area’s growing population.

The project includes 6 packages which are expected to serve a total of 4,358 residential plots. Packages 1 and 3 have been completed, whereas Packages 4, 7, 8 and 9 are under implementation.
Eng. Hamad Al Mejaba, Project Manager, explained that Package 1 provides services for 108 residential plots, by implementing around 7.5 km of roads and 15 km of shared pedestrian and cycling paths, in addition to implementing beautification and afforestation works on an area of 8.3 square meters, upgrading lighting systems, installing 245 lighting poles and providing 1,112 car parking lots.

The project works also included the construction of approximately 16.2 km of drainage networks, and 17.3 km of rainwater and groundwater drainage network, in addition to the implementation of a 3 km-long treated water network.

Package 3, which serves 391 residential plots, included the construction and paving of 9.6 km of roads and 18 km of shared pedestrian and cycle paths, the implementation of beautification works on an area covering 11.2 thousand square meters and the planting of 138 trees, in addition to the installation of 273 lighting poles and 1,333 car parking lots.

This package also included the implementation of infrastructure works consisting of 9.5 km drainage networks, 11.7 km long rainwater and groundwater drainage networks, along with 7.7 km of treated water network pipelines. Additionally, Package 3 also included the construction of a pumping station serving the South Al Meshaf area.

All packages of the South Al Meshaf development project are part of Ashghal’s enhanced contracts, which adopt the principles of effective implementation (LEAN) to ensure proper planning for each stage of the project, in addition to enhancing communication with residents in the area and minimizing the impact of construction works.

The South Al Meshaf development project implements the Authority’s strategy to promote local products, with local components making up about 75 percent of the total materials and components used in the project, including drainage and water pipes, lighting poles and lamps, traffic signal poles and other elements that were previously imported from foreign countries.

الدوحة: أعلنت هيئة الأشغال العامة /أشغال/ عن اكتمال أعمال الحزمتين الأولى والثالثة من مشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية لأراضي المواطنين في جنوب /المشاف/، اللتين جرى تنفيذهما في إطار خطتها لتوفير بنية تحتية متكاملة لأراضي المواطنين في مختلف مناطق الدولة، بما يسمح للمواطنين ببناء منازلهم.

وفي هذا الإطار، أوضح المهندس أحمد العبيدلي رئيس قسم المناطق الجنوبية في إدارة مشاريع الطرق في /أشغال/، أن مشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية لأراضي المواطنين في جنوب /المشاف/ هو أحد المشاريع التي تنفذها الهيئة في بلدية الوكرة؛ بهدف تلبية احتياجات التوسع السكاني في المنطقة، لافتا إلى أنه من المتوقع أن يخدم المشروع، الذي يتضمن ست حزم، ما يبلغ إجمالي (4358) قسيمة سكنية، حيث تم الانتهاء من الحزمتين الأولى والثالثة، ويجري العمل حاليا على تنفيذ أعمال التطوير الخاصة بالحزم الرابعة والسابعة والثامنة والتاسعة.

بدوره، ذكر المهندس حمد المعجبة مدير المشروع، أن أعمال الحزمة الأولى، التي توفر الخدمات لـ(108) قسائم سكنية، تضمنت تنفيذ حوالي 7.5 كيلومتر من الطرق، وإنشاء حوالي 15 كيلومترا من المسارات المشتركة للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية، فضلا عن تنفيذ أعمال تجميل وتشجير على مساحة تغطي 8.3 ألف متر مربع، وتطوير أنظمة الإنارة وتركيب 245 عمودا للإنارة، وتوفير (1112) موقفا مخصصا للسيارات، مبينا أنه جرى ضمن أعمال المشروع إنشاء حوالي 16.2 كيلومتر من شبكات الصرف الصحي، وإنشاء 17.3 كيلومتر من شبكة تصريف مياه الأمطار والمياه الجوفية، إلى جانب تنفيذ شبكة للمياه المعالجة بطول 3 كيلومترات.

وأشار مدير المشروع إلى أن الحزمة الثالثة التي تخدم (391) قسيمة سكنية، قد تضمنت إنشاء 9.6 كيلومتر من أعمال الطرق والرصف وإنشاء ممرات مشتركة للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية بطول 18 كيلومترا، وتنفيذ أعمال التشجير على مساحة تغطي 11.2 ألف متر مربع وزراعة 138 شجرة، وتركيب 273 عمودا للإنارة وتوفير 1333 موقفا للسيارات، كما تضمنت هذه الحزمة أعمال تطوير البنية التحتية، التي تشمل شبكات الصرف الصحي بطول 9.5 كيلومتر وشبكات تصريف مياه الأمطار والمياه الجوفية بطول 11.7 كيلومتر، إلى جانب 7.7 كيلومتر من خطوط شبكة المياه المعالجة، فيما تم ضمن أعمال الحزمة الثالثة إنشاء محطة ضخ تخدم منطقة جنوب المشاف.

جدير بالذكر أن جميع حزم مشروع تطوير جنوب المشاف هي جزء من العقود المحسنة للهيئة، والتي يتم فيها استخدام أسلوب التنفيذ الفعال، من أجل ضمان التخطيط الجيد لكل مرحلة من مراحل العمل، كما أنها تشتمل على تعزيز التواصل مع سكان المنطقة وتقليل أثر الأعمال التنفيذية عليهم.

ويطبق مشروع تطوير جنوب المشاف بحزمه الست، استراتيجية الهيئة الخاصة بتشجيع المنتج المحلي، إذ تبلغ نسبة الاعتماد على المكونات المحلية حوالي 75 بالمائة من إجمالي المواد والعناصر المستخدمة، منها أنابيب الصرف والمياه وأعمدة ومصابيح الإنارة وأعمدة الإشارات المرورية وغيرها من العناصر التي كانت تستورد في السابق من دول خارجية.
