Doha: Qatar Museums is set to offer a diverse range of educational activities this September, with various engaging events planned at prominent cultural institutions across the country. Visitors can look forward to exciting experiences at the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ), the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA), 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Liwan Design Studios and Labs, as well as M7.
At NMoQ, an enticing lineup of activities awaits, including themed museum tours and captivating storytelling sessions. Upcoming events at NMoQ in September include “Storytime: Angry Majid” on September 2, “Family’s Exploration Journey” on September 16, “Memory Box” on September 24 (exclusive for Ehsan Centre participants) and September 28 (open to the public), and “Discovery Programs: Track and Trace” running from Sunday to Wednesday throughout the month, specifically catering to Ehsan Centre participants.
The Museum of Islamic Art is presenting an array of free workshops in September, featuring art workshops, story-telling sessions, and a themed family day. Notable events include “Illustrating Islamic Objects” on September 2, “Family Day – Plants” on September 16, “Discovering Wood at MIA” on September 24, and “Planet Kids Club – A Library Book for Bear” on September 26.
The Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum will host workshops focusing on nutritious lunches for children, a sports club, writing workshops, and teacher training sessions. Noteworthy workshops include “321 Healthy Lunchboxes” on September 19, “321 Sport Explorers” on September 12, “321 Writing Competition for Schools” spanning September to October, and “321 Teacher Training” on September 17-18 (Arabic) and September 24-25 (English). The goal of these training sessions is to empower teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to guide their students through museum galleries. Participating teachers will receive certification, enabling them to lead student field trips to the museum. Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art will host a shadowing program designed for Grade 10 school students. The museum will also continue offering guided tours and art workshops throughout September. Key events include “Mathaf Shadows” on September 26-27, tailored for high school students and linked to the visual art curriculum’s Museum Culture unit. Additionally, there will be a “Family Guided Tour” on September 28, and “Art Lessons with Ismael Azzam” every Sunday and Monday. To participate in these sessions, contact mathaf_education@qm.org.qa.
Liwan Design Studio and Lab will organize a printmaking workshop focusing on Liwan’s unique building and its history. The “Daftar: Remapping School Memories Project” will take place from September 14 to 16, delving into the mid-century modern architecture of the building that once housed Qatar’s first all-girls school, Banat Al-Doha, later renamed Umm Almo’mneen. Participants will analyze the building’s architectural elements, contextualize their childhood memories, and learn printmaking through block printing. Each participant can look forward to leaving with a simple zine created during the workshop.
M7, Qatar’s hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in fashion and design, will offer an exciting lineup of public programs throughout the duration of the “Masterpieces of Furniture Design” exhibition, ensuring a vibrant experience for all.

سيقوم استوديو ومختبر ليوان التصميم بتنظيم ورشة عمل لصنع الطباعة تستعرض المبنى الفريد لليوان وتاريخه. ستُقام مشروع “دفتر: إعادة رسم ذكريات المدرسة” من 14 إلى 16 سبتمبر. تركز هذه الورشة على المبنى الذي تم بناؤه في الخمسينيات والذي استضاف أول مدرسة للبنات في قطر، ثم تم تغيير اسمها إلى أم المؤمنين. ستتيح الورشة للمشاركين إلقاء نظرة عميقة على العناصر المعمارية المتنوعة التي جعلت هذا المبنى فريدًا بأسلوب القرن الوسطى الحديث. سيقوم المشاركون بتحليل المبنى المدرسي من خلال المراقبة والوثائق، وسيقومون بوضع ذكريات طفولتهم في سياقها، وسيتعرفون على فن الطباعة من خلال الطباعة بالأبلكة. يمكن لكل مشارك أن يتوقع مغادرة الورشة بزين بسيط تم إنشاؤه خلال الورشة.
أما M7، المركز القطري الرائد للابتكار وريادة الأعمال في مجال الأزياء والتصميم، سيقدم جدولًا حافلًا من البرامج العامة لجمهوره طوال مدة معرض “تصاميم أثاث رائعة”.
