Meta Announces Closure of Messenger Lite on Android

Washington: Meta announced the closure of the instant messaging application Messenger Lite on the Android operating system as of September 18.
The company explained that users of the application Messenger Lite notice an encouraging message when running the application inviting them to move to the full version of the Messenger application with a note to close the Messenger Lite during the month of September.
Meta said the closure decision will not affect the conversation history, as it will remain preserved and available through the original Messenger application.
Meta revealed the application at the end of 2016 as a simplified version of the main Messenger application to work on Android devices with low specifications.

واشنطن: أعلنت شركة /ميتا/ عن إغلاق تطبيق المراسلة الفورية /ماسنجر لايت/ Messenger Lite على نظام أندرويد، وذلك اعتبارا من 18 سبتمبر المقبل.
وأوضحت الشركة أن مستخدمي تطبيق /ماسنجر لايت/ يلاحظون ظهور رسالة تشجيعية عند تشغيل التطبيق تدعوهم إلى الانتقال إلى النسخة الكاملة من تطبيق ماسنجر، مع تنويه بإغلاق الإصدار الخفيف خلال شهر سبتمبر المقبل.
وأوضحت أن قرار الإغلاق لن يؤثر على سجل المحادثات، حيث ستبقى محفوظة ومتاحة عبر تطبيق ماسنجر الأصلي.
وكانت /ميتا/ قد كشفت عن التطبيق نهاية عام 2016 كإصدار مبسط من تطبيق ماسنجر الرئيسي، للعمل على أجهزة أندرويد ذات المواصفات المنخفضة.
