Green Chemistry, Clean Energy: GPCA Forum Arrives in Qatar

Doha: Qatar will host the 17th edition of the annual “Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association” (GPCA) Forum from December 5th to 7th. The event, organized by the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association, will feature industry leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and prominent speakers from around the world.
Under the theme “Harnessing Chemistry for Impactful Transformation,” the forum will be held at the Qatar National Convention Center. It will address various issues pertinent to the sector, including “Balancing Value Creation and Climate Change Mitigation” and “Chemical Industry Vision for Expanding Clean Energy Transition.” The agenda includes a panel discussion on “Establishing the Foundations of the Chemical Industry,” as well as dialogues on leadership, exploring future trade and innovation prospects, cyber security in the digital age, and more.
The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association stated in a recent statement that this year’s forum features an expanded program with extensive presentation opportunities. New events will also be introduced, including the interactive “Solutions Exchange Platform,” designed for knowledge sharing and providing technological solutions and insights related to the future of the chemical industry.
Participants will have a chance to learn about the journey of the Gulf chemical industry through a special event. Additionally, a sustainability exhibition will highlight the achievements and ambitions of the petrochemical sector in its pursuit of sustainability. The program also includes a specialized seminar under the theme “Future of Procurement Management,” featuring sessions on the latest trends in procurement, innovative sourcing, supply chain resilience, and collaboration opportunities.
The first day will include the award ceremony for the fifth edition of the “Pioneers Award,” honoring outstanding contributors to the Gulf chemical industry. Concurrently, the second edition of the “Youth GPCA Forum” will take place from December 5th to 7th, with over 400 participants.
Dr. Abdulwahab Al Sadoun, Secretary General of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association, emphasized the role of the chemical industry in leading the global transition towards a more sustainable future and broader utilization of clean energy. He stressed the vital need for innovation, collaboration, and empowering the youth, as the industry is responsible for meeting the increasing needs of the population amidst various challenges.
Dr. Al Sadoun expressed his delight in hosting the 17th edition of the forum in Doha for the first time in its history, with more than 2,000 specialists and leaders in the chemical industry expected to attend and discuss the future and global position of the industry.

الدوحة: ستستضيف قطر الدورة السابعة عشرة من منتدى “الاتحاد الخليجي للبتروكيماويات والكيماويات” (جيبكا) السنوي من 5 إلى 7 ديسمبر. تُنظم هذه الفعالية من قبل الاتحاد الخليجي للبتروكيماويات والكيماويات، وستشهد حضور قادة صناعة من دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي ومتحدثين بارزين من مختلف أنحاء العالم.
تحت شعار “توظيف الكيمياء لتحقيق التحول المؤثر”، سيُعقد المنتدى في مركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات. سيتناول الفعاليات مجموعة من القضايا المتعلقة بالقطاع، منها “تحقيق التوازن بين خلق القيمة ومكافحة التغير المناخي” و”رؤية الصناعة الكيماوية لتوسيع التحول نحو الطاقة النظيفة”. يتضمن جدول الأعمال مناقشة حوارية حول “وضع أسس صناعة الكيماويات”، بالإضافة إلى حوارات حول القيادة، واستكشاف فرص التجارة والابتكار المستقبلية، والأمن السيبراني في العصر الرقمي، وغيرها.
ذكر الاتحاد الخليجي للبتروكيماويات والكيماويات في بيان حديث أن منتدى هذا العام يتضمن برنامجاً موسعاً مع فرص تقديم وعروض واسعة. سيتم أيضاً تقديم فعاليات جديدة، بما في ذلك منصة “تبادل الحلول” التفاعلية، المصممة لتبادل المعرفة وتوفير حلاً تقنياً ورؤى حول مستقبل الصناعة الكيماوية.
سيتاح للمشاركين فرصة لمعرفة مسار صناعة الكيماويات في الخليج من خلال حدث خاص. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، سيعرض معرض الاستدامة إنجازات وطموحات قطاع البتروكيماويات في سعيه نحو التحقيق في الاستدامة. يشمل البرنامج أيضاً ندوة متخصصة تحت شعار “مستقبل إدارة المشتريات”، تتضمن جلسات لمناقشة أحدث اتجاهات المشتريات والتزويد المبتكر وتعزيز مرونة سلاسل التوريد وفرص التعاون.

أكد الدكتور عبدالوهاب السعدون، الأمين العام للاتحاد الخليجي للبتروكيماويات والكيماويات، دور الصناعة الكيماوية في قيادة التحول العالمي نحو مستقبل أكثر استدامة واستخداماً للطاقة النظيفة. شدد على ضرورة الابتكار والتعاون وتمكين الشباب، حيث تتحمل الصناعة مسؤولية تلبية احتياجات السكان المتزايدة في ظل تحديات متعددة.
أعرب الدكتور السعدون عن سروره باستضافة الدوحة للدورة السابعة عشرة للمنتدى لأول مرة في تاريخه، بتوقع حضور أكثر من 2000 متخصص وقائد في صناعة الكيماويات لمناقشة مستقبل الصناعة وموقعها العالمي.
