Local, Global Factors are Putting Pressure on QSE Index

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index concluded this week’s trading down by 1.53 percent, losing 164 points to stand at 10,571 under the pressure of the transport sector which fell by 1.77 percent, and banking and financial sector by 1.76 percent, while the insurance sector surged 4.09 percent and real estate sector increased by 0.030 percent.

In this context, financial analyst Ahmed Aqel attributed the decline in the QSE index during the past week to a collection of local and global factors. These factors include the markets exposure to profit-taking after it rose to levels of 11,400 points, in addition to the decrease in the profits of the industrial sector, specifically Industries Qatar, due to the decline in prices in response to oil prices decline by 4 percent over the past few days, to settle at levels of $84 per barrel, which put pressure on the index. The factors also include the expectations that the US Federal Reserve will continue to proceed with monetary tightening policies and raise interest rates. The financial analyst added that the discussions showed that most of the members are concerned about the inflation battle, which may require additional tightening measures from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), in addition to the anticipation of market dealers and investors for the semi-annual review of the FTSE Russell index and the resulting entry, upgrade, exit or adjustment in the weights of some companies, which have confused investors’ decisions regarding buying and selling decisions.

In remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the financial analyst said that the QSE index made record levels during the past period, reaching 11,400 points, which enabled it to dispel the losses it had recorded since the beginning of this year, and as a result of profit-taking, it fell below 10,600 points to close at 10,571.63 points, representing a point of support for the index, and it is still far from the pressure levels that fluctuate between 10,200 and 10,400 points.

Aqel pointed out that the current period has good opportunities in the market with regard to building and assembling financial centers for portfolios and investors, and speculators can seize the opportunities available in the market during this period.

الدوحة:أنهى مؤشر بورصة قطر تعاملات الأسبوع الجاري على تراجع بـ1.53 بالمئة خاسرا 164 نقطة ليصل إلى مستوى 10571 نقطة قياسا بالأسبوع الماضي، بضغط من تراجع قطاعات النقل بنسبة 1.77 بالمئة، والبنوك والخدمات المالية بنسبة 1.76 بالمئة، والصناعة بنسبة 1.4 بالمئة، والاتصالات بنسبة 1.14 بالمئة، والبضائع والخدمات 0.72 بالمئة، فيما قفز قطاع التأمين مسجلا نموا بنسبة 4.09 بالمئة، كما ارتفع قطاع العقارات بنسبة 0.030 بالمئة.

وفي هذا السياق أرجع أحمد عقل محلل أسواق مالية تراجع المؤشر العام لبورصة قطر خلال الأسبوع الجاري إلى حزمة من العوامل المحلية والعالمية، أبرزها تعرض السوق لعمليات جني أرباح بعد أن ارتفع لمستويات 11400 نقطة، إضافة إلى انخفاض أرباح القطاع الصناعي وتحديدا سهم صناعات قطر بسبب تراجع أسعار النفط بنسبة 4 بالمئة خلال الأيام القليلة الماضية ليستقر عند مستويات 84 دولارا للبرميل مما ضغط على المؤشر، فضلا عن توقعات باستمرار مجلس الاحتياطي الفيدرالي بالمضي في سياسات التشديد النقدي ورفع أسعار الفائدة، وأضاف “أظهرت المناقشات أن معظم الأعضاء قلقون من معركة التضخم والتي قد تتطلب إجراءات تشديد إضافي من اللجنة الفيدرالية للسوق المفتوحة، علاوة على ترقب المتعاملين والمستثمرين في السوق لمراجعة مؤشر فوتسي راسل ( FTSE Russell ) نصف السنوية وما تسفر عنه من دخول أو ترقية أو خروج أو تعديل في أوزان بعض الشركات ما أربك قرارات المستثمرين فيما يتعلق باتخاذ قرارات الشراء والبيع” .

وقال محلل الأسواق المالية في تصريحات لوكالة الأنباء القطرية /قنا/ إن مؤشر بورصة قطر سجل مستويات قياسية خلال الفترة الماضية ليبلغ 11400 نقطة مكنته من تبديد الخسائر التي سجلها منذ بداية العام الجاري، ونتيجة لعمليات جني الأرباح تراجع إلى ما دون 10600 نقطة ليغلق عند 10571.63 نقطة وهي تمثل نقطة دعم للمؤشر، كما أنه لازال بعيدا عن مستويات الضغط التي تتأرجح بين 10200 و10400 نقطة.

ولفت عقل إلى أن الفترة الحالية تتوافر فيها فرص جيدة بالسوق فيما يتعلق ببناء وتجميع مراكز مالية للمحافظ والمستثمرين، كما يمكن للمضاربين اقتناص الفرص المتوفرة في السوق خلال هذه الفترة.
