Doha: The Public Works Authority, “Ashghal,” has announced the opening of a new intersection at the junction of Al Kasarat Street and Street 33 in the Industrial Area. This is part of the development works for Street 33, being undertaken by the Highway Projects Department.
The old roundabout has been removed and replaced with a two-level intersection. This intersection features a traffic signal to regulate traffic flow in all directions, along with an elevated bridge spanning 215.70 meters over the traffic signal. This bridge facilitates smooth traffic flow along Street 33.
The new intersection is designed to enhance traffic movement in the area, with a capacity to accommodate around 16,000 vehicles per hour.
This new intersection serves as a vital link for travelers coming from Doha, connecting them to Al Kasarat Street and vice versa. It also benefits numerous essential commercial, industrial, and residential facilities in the area. Notably, Al Kasarat Street extends from the northern to southern parts of the Industrial Area, connecting Street 1 and Street 52.
Ashghal has announced a temporary closure of the old roundabout connecting Western Industrial Street and Street 33 for a duration of two months, in order to complete the development of Street 33. During this period, traffic from the southern part of Western Industrial Street will be redirected to the Energy Roundabout, while traffic from the north will be redirected to the newly opened intersection at the Al Kasarat and Street 33 junction.
New Lanes and Improved Traffic Flow
The project includes increasing the number of lanes on Street 33 from three lanes in each direction to four lanes in each direction. This is accompanied by the construction of two new two-level intersections, connecting Street 33 to both Al Kasarat Street and Western Industrial Street, replacing the existing roundabouts.
Upon project completion, Street 33 will significantly impact traffic movement in the Industrial Area due to its strategic location at the heart of the area. This will lead to reduced travel times without the need for local roads.
Street 33 is seamlessly integrated with the Industrial Area Road, connecting traffic from Doha to the Industrial Area and other major roads like Eastern Industrial Street, Al Kasarat Street, and Western Industrial Street. This facilitates easy access to both Salwa Road and the Seventh Ring Road.
Furthermore, Street 33 will establish efficient traffic flow between the northern and southern parts of the Industrial Area and the New Industrial Area, directly connecting to key local roads such as Al Karajat Street, Al Manajir Street, Al Binaa Street, and the Energy Road.
A Crucial Connection for Travelers
The new intersection serves as a crucial connection for travelers coming from Doha. It facilitates access to Western Industrial Street for those heading towards the Industrial Area, as well as travelers approaching from the Boshera Junction on the Salwa Road or from the Busaila Junction on the Seventh Ring Road towards the Industrial Area via Street 33 and vice versa. This is particularly valuable considering Western Industrial Street runs between Salwa Road and the Seventh Ring Road. The new intersection also eases traffic movement towards the Energy Street, which connects Salwa Road at the Al Sailiya Junction and the Seventh Ring Road at the Al Bahiya Junction.
The Street 33 development project also includes the establishment of new infrastructure for water, electricity, and communication networks, as well as treated water irrigation for green areas. Additionally, the sewerage and stormwater drainage systems will be improved, aligning with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 and the ongoing efforts to provide an integrated road network that supports the nation’s development.

أعلنت “أشغال” عن إغلاق مؤقت للدوار القديم الذي يربط شارع الصناعية الغربي بشارع 33 لمدة شهرين، من أجل استكمال تطوير شارع 33. خلال هذه الفترة، سيتم تحويل حركة المرور من الجزء الجنوبي لشارع الصناعية الغربي إلى دوار الطاقة، في حين سيتم توجيه حركة المرور القادمة من الشمال إلى التقاطع الجديد الذي افتُتِحَ مؤخرًا عند تقاطع الكسارات وشارع 33.
مسارات جديدة وتحسين حركة المرور
يشمل المشروع زيادة عدد مسارات شارع 33 من ثلاث مسارات في كل اتجاه إلى أربعة مسارات في كل اتجاه. يرافق ذلك بناء تقاطعين جديدين من مستويين، يربطان شارع 33 بشارع الكسارات وشارع الصناعية الغربي على التوالي، ليحلوا محل الدوارين الحاليين.
عند اكتمال المشروع، سيكون لشارع 33 تأثير كبير على حركة المرور في المنطقة الصناعية نظرًا لموقعه الاستراتيجي في قلب المنطقة. وسيؤدي ذلك إلى تقليل أوقات السفر بشكل كبير دون الحاجة لاستخدام الطرق المحلية.

يتضمن مشروع تطوير شارع 33 أيضًا إنشاء بنية تحتية جديدة لشبكات المياه والكهرباء والاتصالات، بالإضافة إلى توفير المياه المعالجة لري المساحات الخضراء. وسيتم تحسين أنظمة الصرف الصحي وتصريف مياه الأمطار، متماشيًا مع رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030 والجهود المستمرة لتوفير شبكة طرق متكاملة تدعم تنمية البلاد.
