Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum Enhances Children’s Skills in Writing, Designing Books

Doha: Events associated with the third edition of the children’s books designer initiative kicked off Monday under the theme of a green desert, a better environment in quest of training children to write and design books through a series of applied workshops and lectures that guide children to the rigorous phases of designing books starting from authorship until drawing, reviewing and translation.
Running until Wednesday at Children’s Literature Center, the event comes in collaboration between the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum and Children’s Literature Center, where organizers of the event seek to build children’s capacities to be able to innovatively design books based on a professional writing approach dedicated to them.
The organizers are keen to transform drawings and literature into printable books that are electronically readable, as the event features delivering of lectures on recycling paper to be further repurposed with the aim of preserving the environment.
The event will be punctuated by showcasing books that have been designed by children in the first and second editions of the aforementioned initiative, as these books have demonstrated the children’s creativity in writing and designing books, in addition to the fact that books that are due to be showcased feature a remarkable diversity, in terms of titles and contents the books have addressed.
In addition, such an event would give the participating children an opportunity to engage with professional experts and artists in the area of designing children’s books, in addition to engaging with them in some kind of brainstorming and share expertise with them in order to be empowered and be leaders of the upcoming generation in publication and authorship which would evidently enhance cultural cooperation and optimize contents of children’s books through workshops and courses the event is set to present during days of the event.
Director of the Qatari Publishers and Distributors Forum Riyad Ahmed Yassin underscored the importance of this initiative in promoting the culture of reading for young people, lauding the efforts undertaken by the forum, Children’s Literature Center and the entities supervising the initiative in promoting this idea, encouraging creative talents, and nurturing values of authorship for children.
For her part, director of Dar Nabga for Publishing and Distribution Asma Al Kuwari said she is glad to have an event like this to encourage children to read and upgrade their mental and creative abilities in design and authorship.
The event is anticipated to give significant contributions to stablish a generation capable of writing, designing, and promoting diversity in books’ contents and providing an inspirational model to children in the society.

الدوحة: انطلقت الفعاليات المصاحبة للنسخة الثالثة من مبادرة مصمم قصص الأطفال لهذا العام تحت عنوان “صحراء خضراء.. بيئة أفضل”، وذلك لتدريب الأطفال على تأليف الكتب وتصميمها من خلال ورش ومحاضرات تطبيقية وإرشاد الأطفال بالمراحل المنتظمة لتصميم الكتاب ابتداء بمرحة التأليف ثم الرسم والمراجعة وانتهاء بالترجمة.
وتستمر الفعالية حتى بعد غد /الأربعاء/، بمقر مركز أدب الطفل، وتأتي الفعالية بالتعاون المشترك بين ملتقى الناشرين والموزعين القطريين ومركز أدب الطفل ودار نبجه.
ويسعى القائمون على هذه الفعالية لبناء أطفال قادرين على تصميم كتب بصورة مبتكرة وجذابة وفق منهجٍ تأليفي مخصص للأطفال، إضافة إلى حرصهم على تحويل الرسومات والمؤلفات إلى كتاب قابل للطباعة ورقيا أو الاطلاع عليه إلكترونيا، وتشمل الفعالية أيضا تقديم محاضرات حول موضوع تدوير الورق وإعادة إنتاجه حفاظا على البيئة.
كما سيتخلل الفعالية عرض للكتب التي صممها الأطفال في النسخة الأولى والثانية لمبادرة مصمم كتب الأطفال، حيث أظهرت هذه الكتب إبداع الأطفال في مجال تأليف وتصميم الكتاب، إضافة إلى أن الكتب التي سيتم عرضها تشهد تنوعا ملحوظا في العناوين والمحتويات التي تناولتها.
وستتيح الفعالية الفرصة أمام الأطفال المشاركين للاحتكاك بالخبراء والفنانين المختصين في مجال تصميم كتب الأطفال وتبادل الأفكار والخبرات معهم؛ للاستفادة من خبراتهم، وتمكينهم من أن يكونوا جيل النشر والتأليف القادم، وتأهيلهم للدخول في هذا المجال؛ مما يعزز التعاون الثقافي ويسهم في تطوير وتحسين جودة ومحتوى كتب الأطفال، وذلك من خلال الورش والدورات التي ستتخلل الفعالية طيلة أيامها.
وأكد رياض أحمد ياسين مدير ملتقى الناشرين والموزعين القطريين على أهمية هذه المبادرة في تعزيز الثقافة والقراءة لدى النشء، كما أشاد بالجهود التي يبذلها ملتقى الناشرين والموزعين القطريين ومركز أدب الطفل والجهات المشرفة على المبادرة في الترويج للمبادرة وتشجيع المواهب الإبداعية وغرس قيم التأليف والتصميم لدى الأطفال.
ومن جهتها، عبرت السيدة أسماء الكواري مدير مركز أدب الطفل ودار نبجه عن سعادتها بإقامة مثل هذه الفعالية في محاولة لتشجيع الأطفال على القراءة وتنمية قدراتهم العقلية والإبداعية في مجال تصميم الكتاب وتأليفه.
ومن المتوقع أن تقدم الفعالية مساهمات كبيرة في إنشاء جيل قادر على الكتابة والتأليف والتصميم وقادر على تعزيز التنوع في محتويات الكتب ويقدم نموذج إلهام لفئة الأطفال في المجتمع.
