Doha: The Glazer family, the owners of the English football club Manchester United, has made a new decision in the team’s sale process, which started in November of last year.
According to the inews magazine, the Glazer family has decided to temporarily halt the acquisition of Manchester United, which means that a sale of the team is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
The British magazine reported that the Glazer family decided to suspend the acquisition process due to the failure to receive offers matching their desired price, which left them disappointed.
A source within the team stated that the reason for backing out of the sale is the increase in the team’s financial income following a recent sponsorship deal that set a new record with Adidas. Additionally, negotiations for future broadcasting rights deals could potentially increase the club’s value in the coming years, especially if the club achieves more success under the management of Dutch coach Erik ten Hag.
Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani had made a final offer in June last year to buy the English club Manchester United, stating that this financial offer was the final one from the Qatari group. The British businessman Ratcliffe also made another offer to purchase the team.

وكان الشيخ جاسم بن حمد بن جاسم آل ثاني، تقدم بعرض أخير في شهر يونيو الماضي لشراء نادي مانشستر يونايتد الإنجليزي، مؤكدا أن هذا العرض المالي هو الأخير للمجموعة القطرية، كما قدم رجل الأعمال البريطاني راتكليف، عرض آخر لشراء الفريق.
