HIA Achieves Airports Council Internationals Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation

Doha: Hamad International Airport (DOH) has received the Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation from Airports Council International (ACI) World. Introduced in August 2022, the accreditation program focuses on improving accessibility, ensures equitable customer experiences and promotes a more inclusive environment in the airport industry.

Hamad International Airport’s achievement signifies its commitment to accessibility services within its facility. Attributing to the accreditation is the airports wide range of passenger services and facilities designed to cater to travelers with reduced mobility, special needs or disability, such as the Muzn Lounge – a special sensory room, dedicated washrooms, shuttle services within its expansive terminal, access to airport updates through information desks with trained Customer Service representatives and a dedicated Animal Relief Area for passengers traveling with service animals or emotional support animals.

Commenting on the recognition, Ioannis Metsovitis, Senior Vice President of Operations at Hamad International Airport, said: “We are honored to receive the renowned ACI Accessibility Enhancement Accreditation. الدوحة: أعلن مطار حمد الدولي عن حصوله على اعتماد المجلس الدولي للمطارات لتحسين إمكانية الوصول للمسافرين من ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة.

ويركز برنامج الاعتماد، الذي تم إطلاقه في أغسطس 2022، على تحسين إمكانية الوصول والتنقل، وضمان تجارب مماثلة للعملاء والمسافرين، وتعزيز بيئة أكثر شمولا في صناعة المطارات.

وأكد مطار حمد الدولي في بيان اليوم، أن هذا الإنجاز يدل على التزامه بتوفير خدمات لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة داخل منشآته، بتوفير مجموعة واسعة من خدمات ومرافق المسافرين في المطار مصممة خصيصا لتلبية احتياجات المسافرين ذوي القدرة المحدودة على الحركة أو ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة أو الإعاقة، مثل صالة مزن، وهي غرفة انتظار حسية خاصة، بالإضافة إلى دورات مياه مخصصة، وخدمات نقل مكوكية داخل مبنى المسافرين، والوصول إلى تحديثات المطار من خلال مكاتب الاستعلامات مع ممثلي خدمة العملاء المدربين ومنطقة مخصصة لإغاثة الحيوانات المساعدة المصاحبة للمسافرين ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة.

وتعليقا على هذا الإنجاز، قال السيد يوانيس ميتسوفيتيس نائب أول رئيس العمليات في مطار حمد الدولي: يشرفنا الحصول على اعتماد/ تحسين إمكانية الوصول/ من المجلس الدولي للمطارات، لافتا إلى أن مطار حمد الدولي يؤمن بأن الوصول إلى وسائل النقل الجوي هو حق أساسي لجميع المسافرين.

من جهته، قال السيد ستيفانو بارونسي، المدير العام للمجلس الدولي للمطارات في منطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ: يعد هذا الاعتماد شهادة على التزام مطار حمد الدولي بتوفير إمكانية وصول آمنة وخالية من المتاعب لجميع متطلبات المسافرين جوا، معربا عن أمله في أن يلهم هذا الاعتماد للسعي لتحقيق التميز في إمكانية الوصول وتعزيز بيئة أكثر شمولا في صناعة المطارات.

وأضاف : نؤمن في المجلس الدولي للمطارات في منطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ، بأن لكل مسافر الحق في تجربة سفر سلسة، ونحن فخورون بريادة التغيير من خلال هذه المبادرة.

ويضع هذا الإنجاز المتميز معيارا جديدا للمطارات في الشرق الأوسط، حيث يلهم صناعة المطارات للسعي نحو سهولة الوصول والشمولية. ويواصل مطار حمد الدولي، الذي باشر عملياته التشغيلية في عام 2014، التزامه بجهوده المستمرة في دعم الرفاهية البيئية والاجتماعية والحوكمة لنظام النقل الجوي، مع الحفاظ على مكانته كمركز عالمي رائد للطيران.
