HIA Achieves Record Growth: 33.5% Increase in Passengers during First Half of 2023

Doha: Hamad International Airport (DOH) is experiencing remarkable growth in passenger traffic as it achieved promising results in the first half of 2023. The renowned airport has witnessed a significant surge in travelers arriving and departing from Doha, with a notable 33.5% increase in passenger traffic and an 18.1% increase in aircraft movements compared to the same period last year.

Throughout the first half of 2023, the airport accommodated a total of 20,775,087 passengers, with 10,315,695 passengers in the first quarter and an additional 10,459,392 in the second quarter. Moreover, the number of aircraft movements during this period also surpassed the figures from last year, with a total of 116,296 arrivals and departures from the airport. Specifically, there were 56,417 aircraft movements in the first quarter of 2023 and 59,879 in the second quarter.

Furthermore, during the first half of 2023, Hamad International Airport successfully handled 1,121,382 tonnes of cargo and facilitated the movement of 17,596,776 bags, including 11,376,483 transfer bags through its state-of-the-art facility.
