Katara Launches Summer Camp Activities With Engagement of 40 Children

Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) launched the events and activities of Katara summer camp with the engagement of 40 children whose ages range between 10 to 15 years old.

Running until Aug. 15 on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday -from 10 am to 7 pm- the camp features the participation of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), Al Jazeera Media Institute, Nomas Center, alongside Al Ramii Sport Club.

In the first day of the camp, children participated in a series of awareness lectures with the Civil Defense delivering a lecture on techniques of protection and prevention from dangers, along with a wide range of lectures delivered by the remaining entities which addressed a variety of topics, including the importance of self-confidence, religious lectures and practicing a number of sports activities such as football, marksmanship volleyball and Padel in atmospheres full of suspense and entertainment with full engagement of professional sports cadres.

The Monday program will include a myriad of activities and lectures to be presented by the Civil Defense, Poetry Majlis, Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, in addition to a workshop on the importance of volunteering in events, teaching Qatari Ardha performance, as well as field trips.

Director of Communication and Public Relations at QRCS Mohammed Al Marri said that QRCS has been keen to participate in Katara summer camp, stemming from the consolidated partnership with Katara through organizing 4 training workshops over a course of month with a weeklong workshop for the benefit of 120 students participating in the camp to familiarize them with the basics of first aid and proper health rules.

This cooperation epitomizes the joint visions between QRCS and Katara concerning social, cultural and volunteering activities that build the capacities of youngsters who represent the leaders of the future, Al Marri said.

Director of Al Ramii Sport Club Ahmed Al Kuwari said this is not the first participation of Al Ramii Sport Club in Katara as it has already participated five times in various events and festivals, pointing out that the club aims to educate children on air guns marksmanship with the provision of a mobile caravan and trainers for children.

Lecturer and researcher at the department of studies and international affairs at the Ministry of Interior Dr. Abdel Salam Saleh outlined that the lecture he delivered today was aimed to spread knowledge among children regarding the importance of family cohesion, developing religious values and promoting the deep-rooted values.
Katara summer camp aims to interconnect between educational practice and promote Qatari identity, as well as local traditions.

الدوحة: أطلقت المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/ فعاليات وأنشطة مخيم كتارا الصيفي وذلك في الجهة الجنوبية، بمشاركة 40 طفلا تتراوح أعمارهم بين 10 و15 عاما.

ويستمر المخيم حتى 15 اغسطس المقبل أيام الأحد والإثنين والثلاثاء من الساعة 10 صباحا وحتى 7 مساء.

ويسجل المخيم مشاركة كل من وزارة الداخلية، ووزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية، والهلال الأحمر القطري، ومعهد الجزيرة الإعلامي، ومركز نوماس، ونادي الرمي.

وتابع الأطفال المشاركون في اليوم الأول من المخيم مجموعة من المحاضرات التوعوية منها محاضرة قدمها الدفاع المدني عن أساليب الحماية والوقاية من الأخطار إلى جانب ما قدمته بقية الجهات المشاركة من محاضرات متنوعة تناولت مواضيع مختلفة، من بينها أهمية الثقة بالنفس، ومحاضرات دينية بالإضافة إلى ممارستهم لعدد من الأنشطة الرياضية ككرة القدم والرماية وكرة الطائرة الشاطئية والبادل في أجواء من المتعة والترفيه وبإحاطة كاملة من كادر رياضي متخصص.

وسيضم برنامج يوم غد الإثنين مجموعة من الأنشطة والمحاضرات يقدمها الدفاع المدني ومجلس الشعر ووزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية بالإضافة إلى ورشة بعنوان أهمية التطوع في الفعاليات، وتعليم العرضة القطرية، علاوة على زيارة لمتحف المحامل ولعب كرة القدم الشاطئية وكرة البادل.

وفي هذا السياق قال السيد محمد المري مدير إدارة الاتصال والعلاقات العامة في الهلال الأحمر القطري: “انطلاقا من الشراكة الراسخة بين الجانبين، حرص الهلال الأحمر القطري على المشاركة في مخيم كتارا الصيفي، من خلال تنظيم 4 ورش تدريبية على مدار شهر كامل، بمعدل ورشة واحدة أسبوعيا، لفائدة إجمالي 120 طالبا من أبنائنا المشاركين في المخيم من الأعمار 10- 13 عاما، بهدف تعريفهم بأساسيات الإسعافات الأولية والقواعد الصحية السليمة. وهذا التعاون يجسد الرؤى المشتركة بين الهلال الأحمر القطري والمؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي “كتارا” فيما يتعلق بالأنشطة الاجتماعية والتثقيفية والتطوعية التي تساهم في بناء قدرات الشباب والنشء من قادة المستقبل”.

ومن جهته، قال السيد أحمد الكواري مدير نادي الرمي: هذه ليست المشاركة الأولى للنادي في كتارا فقد شاركنا قبل ذلك خمس مرات في فعاليات ومهرجانات مختلفة وتأتي هذه المشاركة ضمن خطة نشاط نادي الرمي للخدمة المجتمعية، حيث نسعى لتعليم الأطفال مهارات الرماية بالبندقية الهوائية ولقد وفرنا كرفانا متحركا مع وجود مدربين لتدريب الأطفال وكذلك عامة الجمهور ممن يرغب في التجربة.

ومن جانبه، أوضح المحاضر الدكتور عبد السلام صالح باحث في إدارة الدراسات والشؤون الدولية في وزارة الداخلية، أن الهدف من المحاضرة التي قدمها اليوم هو نشر التوعية في صفوف الأطفال بأهمية الارتباط الأسري وتنمية الوازع الديني وتعزيز القيم والمبادئ الأصيلة وقوة الشخصية وأثرها في التوعية والتعديل السلوكي.

ويهدف مخيم كتارا الصيفي إلى المساهمة في الربط بين الممارسة التربوية من جهة وتعزيز الهوية القطرية والعادات والتقاليد المحلية من جهة أخرى.
