HBJ Foundation to donate QR2m to HMC for treatment of COVID-19 patients

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has recently signed a joint cooperation agreement with Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation (HBJ Foundation). Under the agreement, the charitable foundation will donate QR2m in financial support to HMC to contribute to the treatment of COVID-19 patients who are receiving healthcare across HMC facilities.
The agreement was signed by HMCs Chief of Healthcare Facilities, Hamad Nasser Al Khalifa; and Board Member and CEO of Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation, Saeed Mathkar Al Hajri.
On behalf of HMC, Al Khalifa thanked Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation for their initiative and generous contribution to the costs of treatment of COVID-19 patients. He stressed that HMC is committed to delivering effective and highquality care to all COVID-19 patients in accordance with the highest internationally approved standards.
“This contribution will significantly support the success of our efforts to combat COVID-19 pandemic. This noble initiative of HBJ Foundation shows how all institutions in the country are cooperating and working together to defeat the virus. It also highlights HBJ Foundations commitment to promoting social work and supporting the development of our community as part of its social responsibility,” added Al Khalifa.
“We thank HBJ Foundation for their humanitarian role and continued support to the health sector, and especially for their constant desire to promote their partnership and cooperation with HMC to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic,” he said. Saeed Mathkar Al Hajri said that this initiative was based on the directives of H E Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor AlThani and in continuation of a series of community initiatives implemented by HBJ Foundation to combat COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiative is aimed at supporting the efforts of the government and health sector organizations as they implement all necessary precautionary measures to combat COVID-19 virus, as well as supporting HMC efforts to combat the pandemic and protect the society. He added that HBJ Foundation will continue to cooperate with HMC and contribute to covering the costs of treatment of COVID-19 patients.
HMC has also cooperated over the past period with HBJ Foundation to combat the coronavirus pandemic, as HBJ Foundation donated QR2.75m to cover the costs of establishing a quarantine facility in the industrial area dedicated to COVID-19 patients. HMC provides free-ofcharge healthcare to all COVID-19 patients in Qatar, including citizens and expatriate residents.

وقّعت مؤسسة حمد الطبية اتفاقية تعاون مشترك مع مؤسسة جاسم وحمد بن جاسم الخيرية تتلقى بموجبها مؤسسة حمد دعماً مادياً بقيمة مليوني ريال من مؤسسة جاسم وحمد بن جاسم، للمساهمة في علاج المصابين بفيروس كورونا (كوفيد – 19) الذين يتلقون الرعاية الطبية في المرافق الصحية التابعة لمؤسسة حمد. وقّع على الاتفاقية من جانب مؤسسة حمد الطبية السيد حمد ناصر آل خليفة رئيس تطوير المرافق والمنشآت الصحية، ومن جانب مؤسسة جاسم وحمد بن جاسم الخيرية السيد سعيد مذكر الهاجري، عضو مجلس الإدارة الرئيس التنفيذي. وثمّن السيد حمد ناصر آل خليفة مبادرة مؤسسة جاسم وحمد بن جاسم الخيرية وتقديمها هذا الدعم السخي للمساهمة في تكاليف علاج المرضى المصابين بفيروس (كوفيد – 19)، حيث يجري علاجهم بكفاءة وبمواصفات جودة عالية، وفقاً للمعايير الطبية المعتمدة عالمياً.
وقال إن هذه المساهمة تشكّل أثراً كبيراً في إنجاح الجهود لمكافحة هذا الوباء، وإن هذا التوجّه النبيل من جانب مؤسسة جاسم وحمد بن جاسم الخيرية يؤكد للجميع مدى تكاتف الجهود المبذولة من جميع الجهات والمؤسسات في الدولة لمكافحة جائحة كورونا، كما يؤكد أن توجهها يشكّل أهمية في تعزيز العمل الاجتماعي في النهوض بالمجتمع من منطلق المسؤولية المجتمعية، والتي تترجمها من خلال الدعم المستمر والمساندة للقطاع الصحي والإنساني في كل الظروف، وحرصها الدائم على تعزيز الشراكة والتعاون مع مؤسسة حمد الطبية لتوحيد الجهود، والوقوف جنباً إلى جنب في التصدي لهذه الجائحة.
من جانبه، أكد السيد سعيد مذكر الهاجري أن الدعم الذي قدمته مؤسسة جاسم وحمد بن جاسم الخيرية تم بناء على توجيه من معالي الشيخ حمد بن جاسم بن جبر آل ثاني، واستكمالاً لسلسلة من المبادرات المجتمعية التي تنفذها المؤسسة لمواجهة جائحة كورونا، مساهمة منها في مساندة خطط الدولة والقطاع الصحي، في إطار الإجراءات الاحترازية والتدابير التي تتخذها دولة قطر لمكافحة فيروس كورونا (كوفيد – 19) والتصدي له، إلى جانب المساهمة في دعم جهود مؤسسة حمد الطبية، والدور الذي تقوم به لمكافحة الوباء في المجتمع.
وأشار إلى مواصلة التعاون والشراكة مع مؤسسة حمد الطبية للمساهمة بما يلزم في تكاليف علاج المصابين بفيروس (كوفيد – 19).
