MOPH organizes first training workshop for volunteers of “For Qatar” campaign

Doha – The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) organized the first training workshop for volunteers in the “For Qatar” campaign, which has been launched to support the country’s efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
During the workshop, which was held at the Student Center (Forum) in Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), volunteers were trained on the basic skills required in volunteering and provided with a glimpse on the “For Qatar” campaign, and the role each volunteer will play in this campaign.
The two-hour workshop took into account all the necessary precautions, as the volunteers are also scheduled to receive specialized training in the tasks assigned to them before performing their duties.
The number of volunteers who registered in the “For Qatar” National Campaign, carried in cooperation between the MOPH, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and Qatar Charity, has exceeded 35 thousand.
Meanwhile, HE Minister of Public Health Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari stressed that the overwhelming turnout on volunteering, by both citizens and residents, reflects a strong societal sense and commitment to contributing to the state’s efforts against COVID-19.
Her Excellency sent a message to volunteers saying: “You are an honorable model that we are proud of. You have set concepts of social responsibility and made sure that you are the best supporter for our medical staff who are fighting in the front lines against this pandemic. By you and with you, we will succeed in controlling the COVID-19 in our country and in curbing its spread”.
It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Public Health recently invited volunteers to join the efforts of curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
Volunteers will be dispatched, according to need and expertise, to start performing the tasks assigned to them.
The tasks to be undertaken by volunteers include providing support to medical staff working in health facilities through conducting auxiliary health practices, raising community awareness of the risks and symptoms of the COVID-19, and providing various logistical services.
The volunteers are scheduled to be distributed to the various health facilities in the country to carry out the tasks assigned to them, as each will work in shifts for 14 days, or more, distributed over the 12-week program period from the end of March to the end of June.

نظمت وزارة الصحة العامة ورشة التدريب الأولى للمتطوعين في حملة “من أجل قطر” التي تم إطلاقها لدعم جهود الدولة في الحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا (كوفيد 19).
وتم خلال الورشة، التي أقيمت في مبنى مركز الطلاب (ملتقى) بمؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع، تعريف المتطوعين بالمهارات الأساسية المطلوبة في التطوع مع تقديم لمحة عن حملة “من أجل قطر” وأهدافها والدور الذي سيؤديه كل متطوع في هذه الحملة.
وراعت الورشة، التي دامت ساعتين، كل إجراءات واحترازات الوقاية اللازمة، حيث من المقرر أن يتلقّى المتطوعون كذلك تدريبا متخصصا بالمهام المطلوبة منهم قبل أداء مهامهم.
ويبلغ عدد المتطوعين الذين سجلوا ضمن الحملة الوطنية “من أجل قطر” والتي يتم تنفيذها بالتعاون بين وزارة الصحة العامة والهلال الأحمر القطري وقطر الخيرية أكثر من 35 ألف متطوع.
وأكدت سعادة الدكتورة حنان محمد الكواري وزيرة الصحة العامة أن الإقبال الكبير على التطوع من قبل المواطنين والمقيمين يعكس حسا والتزاما مجتمعيا قويا للإسهام بدورهم في جهود الدولة للحد من فيروس (كوفيد 19(.
كما وجهت سعادتها رسالة للمتطوعين قائلة “أنتم نموذج مشرّف نعتز به، لقد رسّختم مفاهيم المسؤولية المجتمعية وحرصتم على أن تكونوا خير داعم لكوادرنا الطبية الذين يقفون في الصفوف الأولى في مواجهة هذا الوباء العالمي فبكم ومعكم سننجح في السيطرة على فيروس كورونا (كوفيد 19) في بلادنا والحد من انتشاره وذلك “من أجل قطر”.
يذكر أن وزارة الصحة العامة أعلنت مؤخرا عن فتح باب التطوع للمساهمة في جهود الحد من انتشار فيروس كورونا في البلاد، وسيتم توزيع المتطوعين حسب الحاجة والخبرات، للبدء في أداء المهام الموكلة لهم.
وتشمل المهام التي من المقرر أن يتولاها المتطوعون تقديم الدعم للأطقم الطبية العاملة في المرافق الصحية من خلال إجراء ممارسات صحية مساعدة، ورفع مستوى الوعي المجتمعي بمخاطر وعوارض فيروس كورونا، بالإضافة إلى تقديم خدمات لوجستية متنوعة.
ومن المقرر توزيع المتطوعين على مختلف المرافق الصحية في الدولة للقيام بالمهام الموكلة إليهم، وسيعملون بنظام المناوبات لمدة 14 يوما أو أكثر موزعة على فترة البرنامج التي تمتد لـ12 أسبوعا اعتبارا من نهاية مارس الجاري وحتى نهاية يونيو المقبل.
