Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital designated as COVID-19 treatment facility
تخصيص مستشفى “حزم مبيريك” كمرفق لعلاج مرضى فيروس كوفيد-١٩
Hamad Medical Corporation’s Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital (HMGH) has been designated as a COVID-19 treatment facility from today – enabling HMC to provide high quality care for patients with COVID-19 in one single facility.
Patients with COVID-19 experiencing moderate to severe symptoms will be admitted to HMGH where they will receive treatment to manage their symptoms while being closely monitored.
“The rapid transformation of HMGH into a COVID-19 treatment facility is an example of the healthcare sector’s proactive approach to confront this pandemic. Right from the onset, we have acted quickly and decisively and put measures in place without delay. This is exactly what is needed to combat such a fast moving virus as COVID-19. I am proud of the efforts of the front-line team involved in getting HMGH operationally ready to provide high-quality care to patients with COVID-19,” said Her Excellency Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health.
“The decision to transform HMGH into a COVID-19 treatment facility is part of the healthcare sector’s proactive plan to ensure it can manage any potential escalation in the number of patients testing positive for the virus,” said Dr. Saad Al Kaabi, Chair of the COVID-19 System Wide Incident Command Committee (SWICC).
“We have chosen HMGH to be our designated COVID-19 because it is one of HMC’s newest facilities and will provide a modern, state-of-the-art environment in which to treat male and female patients of all nationalities with COVID-19. These changes have been made for the benefit of all citizens and residents in Qatar and we ask people for their cooperation and understanding at this time,” added Dr. Al Kaabi.
The conversion of HMGH into a COVID-19 treatment facility means the hospital can now provide a total of 147 beds (42 intensive care beds and 105 inpatient beds) to treat patients with COVID-19, and we are able to increase that capacity to 471 beds (221 intensive care beds and 250 inpatient beds) as well as provide a dedicated COVID-19 Emergency Department with the capacity of 150 beds should it be needed in the future.
HMGH’s senior management team – Acting Medical Director for HMGH and Assistant Chair of the SWICC Dr. Ahmed Ali Al Mohammed, Executive Director Mr. Hussein Al Ishaq, and Head of Infection Control Dr. Nasser Ali Asad Al-Ansari – is leading the transformation plan for the hospital and working in close collaboration with HMC’s other hospitals, as well as the Ministry of Public Health, to ensure every measure is in place to provide the very best care to patients with COVID-19.
Dr. Al Kaabi said: “Our whole team has worked hard over the last week to transform HMGH which is built to the highest quality specification with our clinical teams ready to provide the highest quality care to all of our patients who need it.”
All ambulatory services at HMGH have been temporarily suspended until further notice. The hospital’s Emergency Department remains open as normal to treat life-threatening emergency medical conditions.
أعلنت مؤسسة حمد الطبية عن تخصيص مستشفى حزم مبيريك العام كمرفق لعلاج مرضى فيروس كورونا وذلك اعتبارا من اليوم، بهدف تمكين المؤسسة من توفير رعاية عالية الجودة لهؤلاء المرضى في مرفق متكامل.
وأوضحت سعادة الدكتورة حنان محمد الكواري وزيرة الصحة العامة، أن هذا التحول السريع لمستشفى حزم مبيريك العام إلى مرفق لعلاج مرضى فيروس “كوفيد-19” هو مثال على الأسلوب الاستباقي الذي يسير به قطاع الرعاية الصحية في مواجهة هذا الوباء.
وقالت سعادتها “بدأنا بالتحرك سريعا منذ البداية وعملنا على وضع المعايير من خلال القرارات دون أي تأخير وهذا بالضبط ما نحتاجه للتصدي لفيروس كورونا سريع الانتشار”.
وعبرت سعادة وزيرة الصحة عن الفخر تجاه الجهود التي يبذلها الجميع لتجهيز مستشفى حزم مبيريك العام ليعمل كمرفق لتقديم الرعاية عالية الجودة لمرضى “كوفيد-19”.
وسيتم إدخال المرضى المصابين بفيروس كورونا “كوفيد-19” الذين يعانون من أعراض متوسطة إلى شديدة إلى مستشفى حزم مبيريك العام، حيث سيتلقون العلاج اللازم أثناء خضوعهم للمراقبة المستمرة.
من جهته، قال الدكتور سعد الكعبي رئيس لجنة النظام الصحي للتحكم والسيطرة على الحوادث لمواجهة “كوفيد-19″، إن هذا القرار يعتبر جزءا من الخطة الاستباقية التي يسير بها قطاع الرعاية الصحية لضمان تدارك أي ارتفاع محتمل في عدد المرضى الذين يظهر لديهم مرض كورونا.
واشار إلى أنه تم اختيار مستشفى حزم مبيريك العام بالتحديد لعلاج مرضى “كوفيد-19” لأنه يعتبر الأحدث على مستوى مستشفيات مؤسسة حمد الطبية، حيث سيوفر المستشفى بيئة حديثة ومتطورة تؤمن العلاج لمرضى كورونا من الرجال والنساء ومن كافة الجنسيات.
وأكد أن هذه الخطوة تهدف إلى ضمان تحقيق أعلى نسبة من الفائدة للمواطنين والمقيمين في دولة قطر.
وسيوفر مستشفى حزم مبيريك العام بعد تحويله إلى مرفق لعلاج مرضى “كوفيد-19” 147 سريرا منها “42 سريرا للعناية المركزة و105 أسرة للمرضى الداخليين”، كما سيكون المستشفى متاحا لزيادة عدد الأسرة المتواجدة فيه إلى 471 سريرا “221 سريرا للعناية المركزة و250 سريرا للمرضى الداخليين”، بينما سيوفر كذلك قسما لطوارئ “كوفيد-19” بسعة 150 سريرا عند الحاجة إليها في المستقبل.
ويشرف على خطة تحويل مستشفى حزم مبيريك العام إلى مرفق لعلاج “كوفيد-19” الفريق الإداري في المستشفى وذلك بالتعاون مع المرافق والمستشفيات التابعة لمؤسسة حمد الطبية إضافة إلى وزارة الصحة العامة، وذلك لضمان تحقيق كافة المعايير وتوفير أفضل رعاية لمرضى فيروس كورونا.
وأكد الدكتور سعد الكعبي أن فريق العمل بذل جهدا كبيرا خلال الأسابيع الماضية لتحويل مستشفى حزم مبيريك العام الذي تم إنشاؤه وفقا لأعلى معايير الجودة لتأمين بيئة رعاية عالية الجودة تستطيع من خلالها الفرق الطبية توفير الرعاية التي يحتاجها المرضى.
وقد تم إيقاف كافة الخدمات اليومية بمستشفى حزم مبيريك العام بشكل مؤقت حتى إشعار آخر، بينما يبقى قسم الطوارئ مفتوحا كالمعتاد لتقديم العلاج للحالات الطبية الطارئة.
