Doha – Today, the Ministry of Public Health has registered the first confirmed case of coronavirus 2019 (Covid-19) in the country.
The ministry said, in a statement, that the confirmed case of injury belongs to a 36-year-old Qatari citizen who had recently returned from Iran, among the citizens that the state evacuated on a private plane from Iran and those who were subjected to quarantine upon their arrival the day before yesterday / Thursday / , Noting that the patient has been admitted to the TCDC under complete isolation and is in stable condition.
The statement pointed out that “this matter was expected to happen due to the spread of the virus in many countries of the world and countries in the region and in view of the continuous increase in the number of cases that have been reported in these countries,” stressing that the ministry began examining all people who had close contact with the patient and implementing proper quarantine measures, adding that there is currently no evidence of the spread of the virus in the country, pointing out that efforts are currently focused on examining incoming travelers in all ports of the country.
The Ministry of Health confirmed taking all necessary measures to limit the spread of the virus, calling on all members of society to exercise caution and apply a set of simple preventive measures to protect against infection, including continuous hand washing or the use of hand sanitizers, and to avoid contact with people who have symptoms, and to keep a distance Suitable from other people, use tissue paper when sneezing or coughing and then dispose of it appropriately in a closed container.
The Ministry of Public Health advised all persons who were present in any of the countries in which cases of infection with the virus were reported during the past fourteen days and they showed symptoms of respiratory infection, coughing and a high temperature by calling the ministry’s hotline on the number 16000.
The Ministry stressed that it works closely with all of its partners and with the World Health Organization to ensure the application of the latest guidelines and measures to protect public health, inviting the public to visit its website regularly to view the latest information and obtain health advice and guidelines, as the Ministry will update the information regularly.
The Ministry calls on citizens and residents to cooperate fully with all preventive measures that it applies, and it also renews the warning against circulating rumors or obtaining information in this regard from unreliable sources.

أعلنت وزارة الصحة العامة، اليوم، تسجيل أول حالة إصابة مؤكدة بفيروس كورونا 2019 (كوفيد-19) في البلاد.
وذكرت الوزارة، في بيان لها، أن حالة الإصابة المؤكدة تعود لمواطن قطري يبلغ من العمر 36 عاما كان قد عاد من إيران مؤخرا، وذلك ضمن المواطنين التي قامت الدولة بإجلائهم على متن طائرة خاصة من إيران وممن خضعوا للحجر الصحي فور وصولهم أول أمس /الخميس/، مشيرة إلى أنه قد تم إدخال المريض إلى مركز الأمراض الانتقالية تحت العزل التام وهو في حالة صحية مستقرة.
وأوضح البيان أن “هذا الأمر كان من المتوقع حدوثه نظرا لانتشار الفيروس في العديد من دول العالم ودول المنطقة ونظرا للتزايد المستمر في عدد الحالات التي تم التبليغ عنها في هذه الدول”، مؤكدا أن الوزارة بدأت فحص جميع الأشخاص المخالطين عن قرب للمريض وتنفيذ تدابير الحجر الصحي المناسبة، مضيفة أنه لا يوجد في الوقت الحالي ما يدل على انتشار الفيروس في البلاد، لافتة إلى أنه يتم تركيز الجهود حاليا على فحص المسافرين القادمين في جميع منافذ الدولة.
وأكدت وزارة الصحة اتخاذ كل الإجراءات اللازمة للحد من انتشار الفيروس، داعية كافة أفراد المجتمع لتوخي الحذر وتطبيق مجموعة من الإجراءات الوقائية البسيطة للحماية من العدوى بما في ذلك غسل اليدين باستمرار أو استخدام المطهرات اليدوية، وتجنب مخالطة الأشخاص الذين تظهر عليهم أعراض مرضية، والإبقاء على مسافة مناسبة من الأشخاص الآخرين، واستخدام المناديل الورقية عند العطس أو السعال ثم التخلص منها على نحو مناسب في حاوية مغلقة.
ونصحت وزارة الصحة العامة جميع الأشخاص الذين كانوا متواجدين في أي من الدول التي تم الإبلاغ عن حالات إصابة بالفيروس فيها خلال الأربعة عشر يوما الماضية وبدت عليهم أعراض التهاب الجهاز التنفسي وهي السعال وارتفاع في درجة الحرارة بالاتصال بالخط الساخن للوزارة على الرقم 16000.
وشددت على أنها تعمل على نحو وثيق مع جميع شركاءها ومع منظمة الصحة العالمية لضمان تطبيق آخر الإرشادات وتدابير حماية الصحة العامة، داعية الجمهور الكريم لزيارة موقعها الإلكتروني بانتظام للاطلاع على آخر المعلومات والحصول على النصائح والإرشادات الصحية، حيث ستقوم الوزارة بتحديث المعلومات بانتظام.
وتهيب الوزارة بالمواطنين والمقيمين التعاون التام مع جميع الإجراءات الوقائية التي تقوم بتطبيقها، كما تجدد التحذير من تداول الشائعات أو الحصول على المعلومات في هذا الشأن من مصادر غير موثوق بها.
