New facility to offer best healthcare for children
منشأة جديدة لتقديم أفضل رعاية صحية للأطفال
HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari, visited the site of Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Al Maha Child Development and Rehabilitation Center at Wakra Hospital campus Wednesday.
Due to be completed in 2020, the purpose-built Al Maha Center will revolutionise paediatric care services for children with developmental, complex, and long-term healthcare needs.
Dr al-Kuwari and the accompanying delegation arrived at Wakra Hospital on board Doha Metro. The delegation departed from the White Palace metro station and visited Hamad Hospital metro station, located near Hamad General Hospital’s Emergency Department, on their way to Al Wakrah metro station. The delegation was received by Ajlan Eid al-Enazi, chief of Strategy and Business Development at Qatar Rail.
Noting the importance of the new centre, Dr al-Kuwari said: “I am extremely proud to be here to mark the start of the next phase of construction for the new Al Maha Center. It is critically important that we continue to offer the very best care and support to children with special healthcare needs by expanding and improving our services. Once open, this new facility will offer young people and their families the best possible specialist treatment and support. The facility is the first-of-its-kind in Qatar and will be one of the largest in the region.”
The facility will ensure that those receiving care will have access to high-quality care in a nurturing, relaxing and healing environment. The care provided at the new facility will be founded upon evidence-based principles, providing an integrated service model and family-centred approach. The vision for the Al Maha Center is to become an internationally recognised paediatric facility uniting a number of services, including specialised programmes such as early intervention care.
Once open, the new Al Maha Center will provide its young patients with a range of treatment and rehabilitation services including a gait lab, a life skills programme, music and art therapy classes, and a hydrotherapy pool. Although some of these services are currently available at HMC’s Qatar Rehabilitation Institute, it is the first time they will be offered under one roof to paediatric patients.
قامت سعادة الدكتورة حنان محمد الكواري وزيرة الصحة العامة، صباح أمس بزيارة موقع مشروع بناء مركز المها الجديد في حرم مستشفى الوكرة، ومن المقرّر أن يكتمل إنجاز المشروع في العام الحالي، وهو يمثّل نقلة نوعية في خدمات رعاية الأطفال ذوي الاحتياجات الصحية المتعدّدة وطويلة الأجل.
واستقلّت سعادة وزيرة الصحة العامة والوفد المرافق لها خط مترو الدوحة أثناء توجهها إلى مستشفى الوكرة، حيث قامت بالذهاب من محطة القصر الأبيض إلى محطة الوكرة، إضافة إلى زيارة محطة مستشفى حمد القريبة من مبنى الطوارئ.
وكان في استقبالهم السيد عجلان عيد العنزي رئيس قطاع الاستراتيجيات وتطوير الأعمال بشركة سكك الحديد القطرية «الريل».
وعقب تفقّدها مراحل المشروع، قالت سعادة الدكتورة حنان محمد الكواري: «أنا فخورة للغاية لوجودي هنا اليوم لتفقّد سير العمل لبناء مركز المها الجديد، من الأهمية بمكان أن نواصل تقديم أفضل رعاية ودعم للأطفال ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة للرعاية الصحية، من خلال توسيع وتحسين خدماتنا، سيقدم هذا المرفق الجديد لهؤلاء المرضى وعائلاتهم أفضل علاج متخصص بجودة عالية، إن هذا المرفق هو الأول من نوعه في قطر، وسيكون واحداً من أكبر المنشآت في المنطقة».
ويعدّ مركز المها أول مركز مخصص لتنمية الطفل في قطر، وواحد من أكبر المراكز في المنطقة، وتم بناؤه بطريقة توفّر أفضل رعاية ممكنة في بيئة ترميمية وشفائية وهادئة، وسوف تستند الرعاية المقدّمة في المنشأة الجديدة إلى مبادئ الرعاية القائمة على البراهين، مع توفير نموذج خدمة متكامل، ونهج يركز على الأسرة.
تتمثل رؤية مركز المها في أن يصبح مرفقاً معترفًا به دولياً لطب الأطفال، يضم عدداً من الخدمات، بما في ذلك البرامج المتخصصة، مثل رعاية حالات التدخّل المبكر.
وبمجرّد افتتاحه، سيقدّم مركز المها الجديد للمرضى الأطفال مجموعة من خدمات العلاج وإعادة التأهيل، بما في ذلك مختبر المشي، وبرنامج المهارات الحياتية، ودروس العلاج بالموسيقى والفن، وحمام سباحة للعلاج المائي. على الرغم من أن بعض هذه الخدمات متاحة حالياً في مركز قطر لإعادة التأهيل التابع لمؤسسة حمد الطبية، إلا أنها المرة الأولى التي يتم تقديمها تحت سقف واحد للمرضى الأطفال.
