Washington: The U.S. Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) said that this month’s Orionid meteor showers burning in the Earth’s atmosphere will bring long bursts of light in a spectacular celestial display. Stargazers are preparing to enjoy one of the most exciting shows in years, with meteorites traveling at speeds of 66 kilometers (41 miles) per second. NASA explained that these meteorites spread across the sky in October each year, starting October 2 through November 7, and are expected to peak in early dawn on October 21. This cosmic event takes place when the Earth passes through a stream of debris left by Comet Haley, the main comet of the meteor showers.
