Nine new doctors join HMC’s Bone and Joint Center
«حمد الطبية» تحتفل بتخريج 9 أطباء من برنامج الزمالة في جراحة العظام
Nine new physicians have joined Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Bone and Joint Center after successfully completing their residency and fellowship training programmes.
The physicians, who completed programmes in orthopaedic, foot and ankle, and spine surgery, were recognised during a ceremony in Doha recently.
Dr Yousuf al-Maslamani, medical director of Hamad General Hospital, was among the attendees at the ceremony and said it was an honour to recognise the residents and fellows who have demonstrated the knowledge, clinical, and surgical skills required to practice at the highest possible level of competence.
He said HMC’s orthopaedic residency and fellowship programmes are internationally recognised and equip doctors with the skills needed to become leaders in orthopaedics and rehabilitation research, education, and patient care.
Dr Mohamed al-Ateeq, director of the Bone and Joint Center, delivered a keynote speech during the ceremony on behalf of Dr Mohamed Alaa Kawas, vice-president of the Orthopaedic Department. Dr al-Ateeq noted that HMC’s orthopaedic residency and fellowship programmes allow young doctors to train alongside leaders in orthopedic surgery, gaining knowledge and experience through tutorials in the clinic and the operating theater.
Dr Ghalib Ahmed Alhaneedi, director of HMC’s Orthopaedic Residency Training Programme, said the programme has been training physicians in orthopedic surgery since 1993. He said the programme is approximately five years in duration and has graduated around 50 physicians. Dr Alhaneedi added that the fellowship programme, which began in 2014, is approximately three years in duration and has graduated around 10 Fellows to date.
Dr Osama Aldahamsheh, an orthopaedic resident, spoke on behalf of the graduating physicians and thanked both HMC and the Orthopaedic Department for their commitment to medical education and specifically the development of a residency programme that provides new doctors with supervised practice in an environment conducive to learning highly specialised skills.
As part of the ceremony, a number of the graduating physicians were recognised for their performance in the residency and fellowship programmes. Dr Issam Ali Elmhiregh received the Best Trainee Physician Award, Dr Ghalib Ahmed Alhaneedi received the Best Coach Award, Dr AbdulAziz Ahmed was awarded Best Research Physician, and Dr. Ayman Fuad was awarded the Best Physician Award. Residency and fellowship course directors and mentors were also recognised during the ceremony with Dr Nabeel Mohamed Shaath representing Al Wakra Hosptial, Dr Khalid al-Khelaifi representing Aspetar, Dr Talal Ibrahim representing Sidra Medicine, and Dr Kariyal Parthasarthy Arun representing Al Khor Hospital.
احتفل مركز العظام والمفاصل -التابع لمؤسسة حمد الطبية- مؤخراً، بتخريج دفعة جديدة من الأطباء المقيمين وأطباء برنامج الزمالة، تضم 9 أطباء اجتازوا بنجاح برنامج التدريب لجراحة العظام والمفاصل، وجراحة القدم والكاحل، وكذلك جراحة العمود الفقري؛ لينضموا بذلك إلى فريق الأطباء العاملين بالمركز.
شهد الحفل حضور الدكتور يوسف المسلماني، المدير الطبي لمستشفى حمد العام، وقيادات مركز العظام والمفاصل، ومدربي الأطباء في هذا البرنامج؛ حيث أشاد الدكتور المسلماني بالجهود المبذولة في برنامج تدريب الأطباء ومجهودات قسم العظام وكفاءة الخريجين، وشدد على أهمية مواصلة المسيرة التدريبية والتعليمية والعمل على الارتقاء بها؛ مشيراً إلى أن مؤسسة حمد الطبية تمتلك مكانة إقليمية ودولية متميزة باعتبارها رائدة في مجال التعليم الطبي. وهنّأ المسلماني الخريجين الذين يمثلون إضافة متميزة للكادر الطبي في مؤسسة حمد الطبية، متمنياً لهم حياة عملية باهرة.
كما وجّه الدكتور محمد العتيق الدوسري، مدير مركز العظام والمفاصل ورئيس قسم جراحة العظام بمؤسسة حمد الطبية، كلمة خلال الحفل، ألقاها نيابة عنه الدكتور محمد علاء القواس نائب رئيس القسم؛ حيث رحّب بجميع الحضور وهنّأ الأطباء الخريجين بنجاحهم، قائلاً: «نحن سعداء بتخريج مجموعة جديدة من الأطباء المقيمين الذين يمتلكون أعلى مستويات المهارة والكفاءة؛ حيث اجتاز هؤلاء الخريجين برامج تدريبية متميزة».
وأكد الدكتور غالب أحمد، مدير البرنامج التعليمي في قسم جراحة العظام بمؤسسة حمد الطبية، أن برنامج تدريب الأطباء المقيمين في جراحة العظام بدأ منذ عام 1993، وتم تخريج حوالي 50 طبيباً مقيماً في هذا البرنامج حتى الآن؛ حيث نال البرنامج الاعتماد الدولي من المجلس الأميركي للتدريب في جراحة العظام منذ عام 2014.
وبدوره، ألقى الدكتور أسامة الدهامشة كلمة الخريجين، متوجهاً بالشكر لمؤسسة حمد الطبية وبرنامج تدريب الأطباء المقيمين، على الدعم المقدم للأطباء والجهود المبذولة في تدريبهم وتطويرهم، مما يصب في صالح المرضى وتحسين الخدمة المقدمة لهم.
