PHCC dispensing glucometers free of cost to patients

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has started to dispense blood-glucose meters for eligible patients at its health centres throughout the country.
The glucometer is used to determine the level of glucose concentration in blood, which allows patients to examine blood glucose levels regularly to avoid any complications caused by uncontrolled hyperglycemia in the long term, in addition to any short term complications.
Executive Director of Operation Department, PHCC, Dr Samya al-Abdulla said that as part of the continuous development of the health services offered, PHCC signed an agreement with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) to manage the whole process of dispensing blood-glucose meters, free of charge to patients through its health centres throughout the country.
She pointed out that access to these devices was previously through HMC only, but now it will be available at PHCC centres and HMC.
Dr Samya al-Abdulla stressed that the PHCC is formulating an integrated health system that works according to scientific principles and in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.
She added that the PHCC is witnessing a qualitative leap in the health services provided at its centres.
Dr Samya explained that the PHCC is working continuously to upgrade and develop the services to meet the needs of the patients and improve the level of healthcare in the country.
Director of Logistics Services, PHCC, Ali al-Mahmoudi said that Qataris and residents can get the device and all related medical supplies from the health centres after obtaining the medical evaluation and description of the device by the competent doctor.
أعلنت الدكتورة سامية العبدالله -المديرة التنفيذية لإدارة التشغيل بمؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية- أنه قد تم عقد اتفاق مشترك تتولى بموجبه مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية عملية صرف أجهزة قياس مستوى السكر بالدم وجميع مستلزماتها الطبية بالمجان لمراجعيها المستحقين، من خلال جميع مراكزها الصحية المنتشرة في أنحاء الدولة، وذلك اعتباراً من أمس الأول، لتسهيل وصول وإتاحة هذه الأجهزة للمستحقين لها بشكل أوسع.
وكانت عملية توزيع الأجهزة من اختصاص مؤسسة حمد الطبية فقط، والآن أصبح بإمكان المراجعين المستخدمين لهذه الأجهزة الحصول عليها ومستلزماتها الطبية؛ إما من مؤسسة حمد الطبية أو من خلال المراكز الصحية.
وأكد السيد علي المحمودي -مدير الخدمات اللوجستية بمؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية- أن «الرعاية الصحية الأولية» هي نقطة الاتصال الأولى مع الجمهور، وتركز على المبادئ الأولى للصحة، وتعزيز السلوكيات، وأنماط الحياة الصحية التي تدعم الصحة والأمان الاجتماعي، وكذلك تحقيق المستوى الأول من الرعاية الصحية، من خلال تقديم إطار كبير وشامل من الرعاية الصحية لمجموعة كبيرة من الأمراض، حيث تسعى الدولة إلى العمل على وجود نظام صحي قوي ومتكامل ووفق أسس ومعايير علمية تحقق رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.
وأضاف: سيستفيد من هذه المبادرة جميع المراجعين القطريين البالغين الذين يعانون من داء السكري، بالإضافة إلى جميع حالات زراعة الأعضاء على حد سواء من القطريين وغير القطريين، حيث سيكون بإمكان هؤلاء المراجعين تحديداً الذهاب إلى المراكز الصحية التابعين لها للحصول على الجهاز وجميع اللوازم الطبية المتعلقة به، بعد الحصول على التقييم الطبي، ووصف الجهاز من قبل الطبيب المختص.
