Orbis Flying Eye Hospital arrives for WISH 2018 summit
«مستشفى العيون الطائر» يزور الدوحة مع انطلاق «ويش 2018»
The World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), an initiative of Qatar Foundation, has announced that the world’s only fully-functioning accredited eye hospital on board an aircraft will be visiting Doha this fall to coincide with the WISH 2018 summit, which takes place on November 13-14 at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
The Orbis Flying Eye Hospital, operated by global eye health charity Orbis, is a fully converted cargo plane and state-of-the-art teaching facility complete with operating room, classroom, and recovery room. The aircraft will be landing ahead of the summit to allow healthcare professionals and Qatar-based supporters of Orbis to tour the plane.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to hear about ‘Qatar Creating Vision’, an initiative funded by the Qatar Fund for Development and implemented by Orbis. These events will take place during the inaugural Doha Healthcare Week, a week of healthcare-related community-based events taking place immediately before WISH 2018.
WISH’s biennial Doha summits have quickly become major highlights of the global healthcare calendar for the thousands of high-level policy-makers, academics, and professionals who attend. They are also a key platform for the dissemination of healthcare innovation and best practices.
The aircraft is being hosted in Doha through Qatar Airways’ longstanding support of Orbis and, for the first time, WISH is offering 20 members of the public the opportunity to have an exclusive tour of the plane on November 6, the first day of Doha Healthcare Week. In addition, Orbis’ elite team of eye care specialists will host preferred practices workshops with doctors and nurses working in Qatar.

أعلن مؤتمر القمة العالمي للابتكار في الرعاية الصحية «ويش»، مبادرة مؤسسة قطر، أن مستشفى العيون المصمم ليعمل بشكل كامل على متن طائرة من طراز «MD-10» سوف يزور الدوحة، بالتزامن مع انطلاق أعمال قمة ويش 2018، يومي 13-14 نوفمبر بمركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات.
والمستشفى الطائر جواً الذي تديره منظمة «أوربس» الخيرية العالمية المعنية بصحة العين، هو عبارة عن طائرة شحن مجهزة بالكامل، لتكون مشفى يحتوي على أقسام تعليمية حديثة مزودة بغرفة عمليات، وغرفة للتدريس، وغرفة للإنعاش.
وسوف تحط الطائرة قبل موعد انطلاق القمة، ولإتاحة الفرصة لمهنيي الرعاية الصحية والجهات الداعمة لـ «أوربس» في قطر القيام بجولة في الطائرة.
كما يتمكن الزائرون من التعرّف على مبادرة «قطر تصنع الرؤية»، الممولة من صندوق قطر للتنمية، وتحت إشراف وتنفيذ منظمة «أوربس».
ومن المقرر أن يتم ذلك خلال فعاليات أسبوع الدوحة للرعاية الصحية، وهو عبارة عن أسبوع حافل بالأحداث المجتمعية ذات الصلة بالرعاية الصحية، والذي سيقام في الأسبوع السابق لـ«ويش 2018». وبفضل الدعم المستمر للخطوط الجوية القطرية لمنظمة «أوربس» سيتم استقبال الطائرة مرة أخرى على أرض مدينة الدوحة، حيث يقدم «ويش» لعشرين فرداً من عامة الجمهور فرصة نادرة للذهاب في جولة حصرية على متن الطائرة بتاريخ 6 نوفمبر المقبل، وسوف يقوم فريق «أوربس» من مختصي طب العيون، بالشراكة مع وزارة الصحة العامة، بتقديم ورش عمل تدريبية للأطباء والممرضين والممرضات.
وقال نيك برادشو، مدير قسم الشراكات في «ويش»: «يسرنا أن نرحب في قطر بمرفق رعاية صحية مهم ورائد مثل مستشفى العيون الطائر، للمشاركة في قمة ويش 2018، وأسبوع الدوحة للرعاية الصحية، حيث تنسجم غرفة العمليات المتنقلة والتعليمية في «أوربس» مع رسالتنا التي نسعى من خلالها إلى تعزيز الابتكار.
وأضاف: «إن صحة العيون هي واحدة من 9 محاور تشكل مواضيع قمة هذا العام.
