Fereydoun stars as Al Ahli impress with 2-0 victory
الأهلي يتجاوز نادي قطر بثنائية فريدون
DOHA: Al Ahli yesterday produced a fighting display to beat Qatar SC 2-0 in a round two clash at Al Sadd Stadium.
A superbly-executed double by Ali Fereydoun (10 and 76) saw Al Ahli home. It was a welcome result for Al Ahli who has lost to Al Rayyan in round 1 last week.
After a cagey start, Al Ahli opened the scoring against an in-form Qatar SC after a great run by Fereydoun who dribbled and shot past goalkeeper Jassim Adel with lightning speed.
Fereydoun – after a long cross from the midfield – outpaced his marker Ammar Hussein before slotting the ball past goalkeeper Adel in the 10th minute of the match at Al Sadd Stadium.
Qatar SC – who stunned former champions Al Gharafa in the first round – were caught unawares with Fereydoun’s speed and finish as Al Ahli completed a spectacular goal.
Close to the half hour mark, Qatar SC striker Osama Mahmoud curled in a direct free-kick that was blocked by Al Ahli goalkeeper Yazan Naim as the men in green negated the threatening move.
Despite conceding the early goal, Qatar SC keeper Adel remained alert throughout the first half, thrice blocking dangerous Al Ahli moves on curling crosses from the flanks.
At the exact one-hour mark, Mohsin Hassan Al Yezeedi was brought in place of Nasser Saleh Al Khalfan by Al Ahli coach Milan Macala to beef up the team’s attacks.
A minute later, Al Ahli stalwart Mashal Abdullah flicked one from close range but his shot was neatly blocked by Qatar SC keeper Adel as Al Ahli failed to double their lead.
In the 66th minute, Fereydoun doubled the Al Ahli lead with a spectacular snap-header on a cross from Al Yazeedi. Fereydoun jumped high to deflect the ball into net to score his second goal of the match.
He took his jersey off to celebrate the goal and the referee promptly slapped a yellow card.
Qatar SC failed to pick up any points after their impressive 3-1 win over Al Gharafa last week.
Today, Al Gharafa will be out to beat Al Sailiya at the Khalifa International Stadium. The match kicks off at 5.30pm.
The Cheetahs did creditably well last season by finishing fourth. They will be keen to be in top four this time as well.
New coach Christian Gourcuff was eager to keep the players focused ahead of the Al Sailiya clash. He would hope the likes of Wesley Sneijder, Mehdi Taremi and Vladimir Weiss deliver the goods.
In the second match of the day, Al Duhail will meet Al Khor at the same venue.
The game is crucial for both sides. Al Duhail won their opener against promoted Al Shahaniya, but lost the services of forward Ismail Mohammed for almost this season due to an injury.
استعاد فريق الأهلي نغمة الانتصارات محققا الفوز بهدفين دون رد على حساب نظيره نادي قطر في المواجهة التي جمعت بين الفريقين مساء اليوم على ملعب جاسم بن حمد بنادي السد ضمن افتتاح مباريات الاسبوع الثاني من الدوري القطري لكرة القدم (دوري نجوم QNB) لموسم 2018 /2019.
وفي مواجهة جرت في وقت سابق اليوم، حسم التعادل الايجابي بهدف لمثله لقاء الريان مع نظيره ام صلال.. وتستكمل بقية مباريات الجولة غدا السبت بإقامة مواجهتين، حيث يلعب الغرافة مع السيلية، ويواجه الدحيل نظيره الخور.. وتختتم مواجهات الاسبوع الثاني بإقامة مباراتين، حيث يلعب السد مع العربي في “ديربي” الكرة القطرية، ويواجه الشحانية نظيره الخريطيات.
وحملت ثنائية الاهلي توقيع المهاجم علي فريدون في الدقيقتين ال10 وال66 ،ليحصد بذلك الاهلي أول ثلاث نقاط.. فيما بقي رصيد نادي قطر عند ثلاث نقاط.
وفي الجولة الماضية الافتتاحية نجح نادي قطر في تجاوز عقبة الغرافة بثلاثة اهداف مقابل هدف، بينما سقط الاهلي امام الريان بثنائية نظيفة…اما مواجهات الموسم الماضي فجاءت متكافئة، فكان الفوز بثلاثية نظيفة حليف للأهلي في القسم الاول، بينما رد قطر الاعتبار في القسم الثاني وفاز بهدف نظيف.
المواجهة في مجملها جاءت مثيرة بين الفريقين فكل منهما له اهدافه وطموحاته، فالأهلي تحت قيادة مدربه السابق والعائد اليه من جديد ماتشالا دخل المباراة من اجل تعويض عثرة الاسبوع الماضي، لذلك كان عازما على ضرورة حصد النقاط الثلاث، وبالفعل نجح في ادارك مبتغاه وكان الطرف الافضل بفضل هدفي مهاجمه علي فريدون.
ونجح الاهلي في انهاء الشوط الاول متقدما، ثم تمكن من خطف الهدف الثاني لتسير المباراة باتجاه تحقيقه للفوز، وكان الفريق قريبا من تسجيل اهداف اخرى لولا براعة حارس نادي قطر، وغياب التركيز والتسرع في إنهاء الهجمات، لكن الأهلي نجح في حصد نقاط المباراة الثلاث.
أما نادي قطر فكان بدوره يبحث عن تحقيق فوزه الثاني بعد ان استهل مشواره في الدوري بثلاثية في شباك الغرافة، لكن طموحه اصطدم برغبة الاهلي القوية بالخروج فائزا، ورغم وجود عدد من الاسماء الجديدة في صفوف نادي قطر والتي ساهت في تحقيق فوزه الاول الا ان الفريق لم يستطع معانقة شباك الاهلي ليتلقى هزيمته الاولى.
ودخل نادي قطر الشوط الثاني بأداء مغاير واصبح يبادر خصمه الهجمات لكن اغلبها افتقدت للدقة، كما ان حارس الاهلي وقف سدا منيعا ودافع عن مرماه بإبعاد كرات شكلت خطورة في بعض المناسبات.. وحتى الورقة الحمراء التي تحصل عليها لاعب الاهلي خليل شريف قبل نهاية الشوط الثاني لم ينجح لاعبو قطر في استغلالها، كما ان القائم منع دخول كرة الهاجم اسامة اموري لتنتهي المواجهة بفوز مستحق للأهلي.
وفي منافسات الجولة الثالثة المقبلة سيكون الاهلي على موعد مع ام صلال، في حين سيواجه نادي قطر نظيره السيلية.
