‘MyHealth’ patient portal proves hugely popular, beneficial

About 40,000 people have registered to access their medical records and other health information using the innovative MyHealth patient portal, since it was officially launched earlier this year.

With MyHealth, patients can access their electronic personal health record online and through a mobile app. The portal, accessible through www.myhealth.qa, is providing patients at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) with access to their key health records, including test results, information about upcoming appointments, and prescribed medications.

The portal was inaugurated by HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in March and was initiated as part of an ongoing effort to empower patients to take an active role in their healthcare decision making.

Integrated with the Clinical Information System (CIS), MyHealth provides a single record of information, irrespective of where the doctor was consulted – HMC or PHCC. The portal also allows patients to view a summary of their visits, upcoming appointments, medications, and post-appointment instructions.

Dr AbdulWahab al-Musleh, deputy chief medical officer, Clinical Information Systems at HMC, said since the launch patients have been signing up for MyHealth using the online registration function.

“One of the key benefits of MyHealth is that patients can access their medical records in one place, which enables them to track and check test results, for example, and to discuss these results with their physicians,” Dr al-Musleh said. “We have found that giving patients the ability to access their records when they want and where they want, has an empowering effect. It educates patients and allows them to use this information in conversations with their healthcare providers when visiting HMC or PHCC,” he said.

Dr al-Musleh added that new capabilities have been added to the portal, including a function that enables patients to send a non-urgent message to their healthcare provider in a confidential manner.

“This function enables patients to ask non-urgent questions, for example about their medication, or to seek clarification. The normal turn-around time for a response is three business days but we ask patients not to use this function for urgent matters. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 999,” said Dr al-Musleh.

Patients can register for the MyHealth patient portal online at www.myhealth.qa or at any HMC or PHCC facility.

بلغ عدد الأفراد الذين قاموا بالتسجيل في بوابة «صحتي» الإلكترونية منذ تدشينها رسمياً في مطلع هذا العام، 40 ألف شخص تقريباً، وذلك بهدف الوصول إلى ملفاتهم الطبية، وغيرها من المعلومات الصحية.

وتُمكّن بوابة «صحتي» المرضى من معاينة ملفاتهم الطبية الإلكترونية مباشرة عبر الإنترنت، ومن خلال تطبيق على الهواتف المحمولة، حيث تتيح هذه البوابة الإلكترونية -التي يمكن الوصول إليها عبر الموقع التالي: www.myhealth.qa- للمرضى في مؤسسة حمد الطبية ومؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية، الاطلاع على ملفاتهم الطبية، ونتائج الفحوصات، والتحاليل المخبرية، وتواريخ المواعيد الطبية، وقائمة أدويتهم. وكان معالي الشيخ عبدالله بن ناصر بن خليفة آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية، قد دشّن رسمياً بوابة «صحتي» الإلكترونية في شهر مارس من العام الحالي. ويأتي إطلاق هذه البوابة الإلكترونية المخصصة للمرضى في إطار المساعي المبذولة لتمكين المرضى من القيام بدور إيجابي في الرعاية الصحية المقدمة لهم، وعملية اتخاذ القرارات المتعلقة بصحتهم.

وتوفر بوابة «صحتي» -التي تشكل جزءاً من نظام المعلومات الطبية (نمط)- سجلاً طبياً واحداً للمريض، بغض النظر عن المكان الذي تلقى فيه المريض خدمات الرعاية، سواء كان ذلك في أحد مرافق مؤسسة حمد الطبية، أو مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية. كما تتيح بوابة «صحتي» للمرضى الاطلاع على موجز زياراتهم، وتواريخ مواعيدهم المقبلة، وقائمة أدويتهم، والتعليمات الواجب اتباعها بعد زيارة الطبيب.

ونوّه الدكتور عبد الوهاب المصلح -نائب الرئيس الطبي لنظم المعلومات الطبية في مؤسسة حمد الطبية- بإقبال المرضى على التسجيل في بوابة «صحتي» مستخدمين وظيفة التسجيل الإلكترونية، وقال: «تتمثّل إحدى المزايا الأساسية التي تنطوي عليها بوابة «صحتي» في منح المرضى سجلاً طبياً واحداً في موقع واحد، مما يمكّنهم من متابعة نتائج فحوصاتهم المخبرية، والاطلاع عليها، ومن ثم مناقشتها مع أطبائهم، فقد وجدنا أن إتاحة الفرصة للمرضى للاطّلاع على ملفاتهم الطبية متى وحيثما شاؤوا له أثر إيجابي بارز، فهو يثقف المرضى حول أوضاعهم الصحية، ويتيح لهم استخدام هذه المعلومات في محادثاتهم مع مقدمي الرعاية الصحية لدى زيارتهم لأحد مرافق مؤسسة حمد الطبية، أو مراكز مؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية».;
