Meet to discuss issues that concern blind women
رئيس الوزراء يرعى مؤتمر شراكة المرأة الكفيفة الأحد المقبل
Doha: The third international conference on blind women as partners in building and development of society, organised by the Arab Union for the Blind in cooperation with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, will be held on Sunday in the presence of a number of governmental and private institutions, associations and centres.
Dr Khaled Al Nuaimi, President of the Arab Union for the Blind and Chairman of the Arab Association for Human Rights, said at a press conference that the conference will discuss a number of issues that concern blind women, who are an important element in society, pointing out that those concerned with this segment seek to put women on the path of modern developments.
Dr Al Nuaimi added that women with disabilities suffer from many problems in light of the weak cultural level necessary to deal with this segment in the Arab world, stressing that disabled people have skills that may equal or exceed the possibilities of ordinary people, calling to take care of members of this segment and to open up opportunities for them to participate in community. he conference will develop solutions and recommendations addressing the issues of blind women both in the civil society and through the government community, and to overcome the social challenges faced by blind women in the Arab world, praising the role of the State of Qatar in caring for the protection and promotion of the rights of the disabled community, and expressing his hope that the conference will achieve all its goals and aspirations.
Dr Al Nuaimi added that the State of Qatar has maintained its humanitarian obligations, especially those related to the categories of persons with disabilities, despite the circumstances that have been exposed to it following the unjust blockade, as Qatar continued to support the Arab Union for the Blind at all logistics and technical levels. He pointed out that the two previous versions of the conference came out with 20 recommendations, including 11 achieved recommendations, which reflects the importance of the efforts of the State of Qatar in supporting and empowering this segment of society.
The conference will also discuss topics related to persons with disabilities in various dialogue sessions, such as blind Arab women and community partnership and the use of media to support their causes and blind Palestinian Arab women between involuntary celibacy and limited marriages, in addition to other issues, including the obstacles and challenges faced by blind women in the context of development, the promotion of national capacity-building for blind women through the establishment of a supportive and rights-based development approach, and the review of Qatar’s efforts to promote blind women’s participation within Qatar National Vision 2030.
تحت رعاية معالي الشيخ عبد الله بن ناصر آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الداخلية تنطلق الأحد المقبل أعمال مؤتمر الدوحة الدولي الثالث “المرأة الكفيفة شريك في بناء المجتمع والتنمية”، الذي ينظمه الاتحاد العربي للمكفوفين بالتعاون مع وزارة التنمية الإدارية والعمل والشؤون الاجتماعية متمثلة في “إدارة شؤون الأسرة”، ويشارك فيه عدد من المؤسسات والجهات الحكومية والخاصة والجمعيات والمراكز المختصة.
وقال الدكتور خالد النعيمي رئيس الاتحاد العربي للمكفوفين ورئيس الجمعية العربية لحقوق الإنسان، خلال مؤتمر صحفي عقد صباح أمس بمقر الوزارة إن المؤتمر سيناقش عددا من القضايا التي تهم المرأة الكفيفة التي تعد عنصرا هاما في المجتمع، مشيرا إلى سعي المعنيين بهذه الشريحة إلى وضع المرأة على طريق التطورات العصرية الحديثة.
وأضاف رئيس الاتحاد العربي للمكفوفين ورئيس الجمعية العربية لحقوق الإنسان، أن المرأة من ذوي الإعاقة تعاني من مشاكل كثيرة في ظل ضعف المستوى الثقافي اللازم للتعامل مع هذه الشريحة في العالم العربي.. مشددا على أن أصحاب الإعاقة يتمتعون بمهارات قد تساوي أو تتجاوز إمكانيات الناس العاديين، داعيا إلى العناية بأفراد هذه الشريحة وإتاحة الفرصة أمامها حتى تتمكن من المشاركة في المجتمع وحتى لا تشعر بالنقص عن الآخرين.
وأشار إلى أن مؤتمر الدوحة الدولي الثالث حول إشراك المرأة الكفيفة في بناء المجتمع والتنمية، سيضع حلولا وتوصيات تعالج قضايا المرأة الكفيفة سواء في المجتمع المدني أو عن طريق المجتمع الحكومي، محاولة للتغلب على ما تعانيه المرأة الكفيفة من تحديات اجتماعية واقتصادية على مستوى العالم العربي، مثمنا الدور الذي تلعبه دولة قطر في الاهتمام بحماية وتعزيز حقوق المجتمع من ذوي الإعاقة، معربا عن تطلعه إلى أن يحقق المؤتمر جميع ما ينشده من أهداف وتطلعات.
وأكد رئيس الاتحاد العربي للمكفوفين ورئيس الجمعية العربية لحقوق الإنسان أن دولة قطر ظلت محافظة على واجباتها الإنسانية والتزاماتها الأخلاقية، خاصة المتعلقة منها بفئات ذوي الإعاقة، وذلك رغم ما تعرضت له من ظروف إثر الحصار الجائر، حيث تمثل ذلك في دعمها للاتحاد العربي للمكفوفين على كل المستويات اللوجستية والفنية.
ولفت إلى أن النسختين السابقتين للمؤتمر خرجتا بـ 20 توصية تحققت منها 11 توصية، الأمر الذي يعكس أهمية الجهود التي تبذلها دولة قطر في دعم وتمكين هذه الشريحة في المجتمع.
ويناقش المؤتمر، الذي يستمر لمدة ثلاثة أيام، عددا من المواضيع المتعلقة بالأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة ضمن جلسات حوارية متعددة، ستبحث مسألة “المرأة العربية الكفيفة والشراكة المجتمعية وتوظيف الإعلام المناصر لخدمة قضاياها”، و”المرأة العربية الفلسطينية الكفيفة بين العزوبية القسرية ومحدودية حالات الزواج”، إضافة إلى مواضيع أخرى من ضمنها العوائق والتحديات التي تواجه المرأة الكفيفة في سياق التنمية، وتعزيز بناء القدرات الوطنية للمرأة الكفيفة من خلال تكريس النهج التنموي الداعم والقائم على الحقوق، واستعراض جهود دولة قطر لتعزيز مشاركة المرأة الكفيفة ضمن رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.
