Thailand in Advanced Talks to Import Two Million Tons of Qatari Gas

Doha: The British news agency has published a report revealing advanced negotiations between Qatar Energy Company and Thailand’s government-owned energy company, PTT, with the aim of entering into a bilateral deal. The main objective of this deal is for Doha to finance Bangkok by supplying one to two million tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually for a period of 15 years. Through this agreement, Qatar will become one of the main suppliers to Thailand’s energy market, benefiting from its capabilities, notably its high capacity for LNG production. It is expected that in approximately four years from now, Qatar’s annual LNG production capacity will reach around 126 million tons, compared to the current capacity of 77 million tons. Furthermore, Qatar possesses a vast fleet of carriers that enables it to deliver its energy products to various continents worldwide.

الدوحة: نشرت وكالة الأنباء البريطانية خبرا كشفت فيه عن وجود مفاوضات متقدمة بين شركة قطر للطاقة والشركة الحكومية للطاقة في تايلاند “بي تي تي”، بهدف الدخول في صفقة ثنائية الغاية منها تمويل الدوحة لبانكوك بمليون أو 2 مليون طن سنويا من الغاز الطبيعي المسال، وذلك لمدة 15 عاما ستكون من خلالها قطر أحد الموردين الرئيسيين لسوق الطاقة في تايلاند، في ظل توفرها على جميع الإمكانيات المساعدة على ذلك، وفي مقدمتها القدرة العالية في إنتاج الغاز الطبيعي المسال، والتي من المنتظر أن تصل فيها بعد حوالي أربع سنوات من الآن إلى حوالي 126 مليون طن سنويا بدلا من 77 مليون طن القدرة الحالية، دون نسيان امتلاكها لأسطول ضخم من الناقلات يمكنها من الوصول بمنتجاتها من الطاقة إلى مختلف قارات العالم.
