Qatar Museums Continues Hosting A Number of Art Exhibitions During the Summer

Doha: Qatar Museums showcasing local culture and aspects of international culture in a number art exhibitions of its museums, during the summer.

With many exhibitions drawing to a close this summer, Qatar Museums (QM) invited the public to immerse themselves in Qatar’s rich heritage and culture and experience their current offerings.
QM’s current and soon to be closing exhibitions include Eduardo Navarro’s The (Free Spirits of The Wild Horses) exhibition, which will run until July, 10 at Gallery 4, Fire Station. This exhibition is presented in collaboration with the Embassy of Panama in Qatar. They also include Pipilotti Rist’s (Your Brain to Me, My Brain to You) exhibition which is open until July 15 at the QBEC Gallery of National Museum of Qatar. Your Brain to Me, My Brain to You is a new large-scale, site-specific installation by internationally renowned Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist. A key feature of the installation is the “pixels” that comprise 12,000 LED lights strung on cables throughout the gallery for visitors to navigate.

National Museum of Qatar also hosts Olafur Eliasson’s (The Curious Desert), which is open though Aug. 15. It brings together a dozen new site-specific installations located near the Al Thakhira Mangrove in Northern Qatar and an extensive gallery presentation at the National Museum of Qatar. The outdoor installation consists of 12 temporary pavilions that Eliasson considers to form an artistic laboratory in the desert. At the National Museum of Qatar, the gallery portion of the exhibition features artworks from different periods of Eliasson’s career and in a wide range of media.

At Mawater Gallery in National Museum of Qatar (A Sneak Peek at Qatar Auto Museum) is running through Jan. 20,2024. The exhibition is in honour of the museum to come, A Sneak Peek at Qatar Auto Museum celebrates the mission to drive culture forward and to inspire the next generation of innovators, designers, engineers, collectors and policymakers through a shared passion for cars.
Beirut and the Golden Sixties exhibition is open at Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art until Aug. 5. Spanning the 1958 Lebanon Crisis to 1975 Lebanese Civil War, the exhibition a tribute to the Beirut art scene of the 1960s, which witnessed an explosion of creativity and artistic experimentation and became a destination for many intellectuals and for artists from across the Arab world.

Moreover, (I Am The Traveler And Also The Road) will be open at the Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art until Aug. 5, telling the story of a journey that interconnects the visions of twelve remarkable photographers working in the West Asia and North Africa region today.

At the Museum of Islamic Art, (Mosques in Qatar: Then and Now) will continue until Aug. 12, taking the visitors on a photographic tour of Qatar from one of the earliest mosques at Murwab, through the boom of the 20th century, to the modern architecture and design of today where despite architectural changes, the mosque remains as an important part of the community as it ever has been. The exhibition will also celebrate and feature some of the famous Qatari Imams who have guided the community, and Muezzins who have called the community to prayer.

The (Zwara: Focus On Forever Valentino Exhibition) will also continue at Qatar Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Design, Fashion and Technology (M7) until Sep. 10.

الدوحة: تواصل متاحف قطر تقديم عدد من المعارض الفنية التي تظهر الثقافة المحلية وجوانب من الثقافة العالمية في عدد من متاحفها لتتاح أمام الجمهور خلال فترة الإجازة الصيفية.

ودعت متاحف قطر اليوم، مع اقتراب اختتام العديد من المعارض هذا الصيف، الجمهور إلى التعمق في تراث قطر وثقافتها الثريين، وتجربة العروض المتاحة حاليا.

وتشمل المعارض التي تقدمها متاحف قطر حاليا معرض الفنان البنمي إدواردو نافارو – /الأرواح الحرة، للخيول البرية/ والذي يستمر حتى 10 يوليو الجاري في صالة العرض 4، مطافئ، ويقام بالتعاون مع سفارة بنما في دولة قطر، إلى جانب معرض الفنانة السويسرية المعروفة عالميا بيبيلوتي ريست: /عقلي كما تراه، وعقلك كما أراه/، ويقام في صالة شركة هندسة العمارة القطرية، متحف قطر الوطني حتى 15 يوليو الجاري، وهو عمل مرئي تركيبي يقام لأول مرة للفنانة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، ومن الأجزاء الرئيسية للعمل الفني /البكسلات/ المكونة من 12,000 مصباح من نوع إل.إي.دي معلقة على وصلات كهربائية في أنحاء صالة العرض التي يمر من خلالها الزوار.

كما يشهد متحف قطر الوطني معرض /الصحراء تعانق الخيال/ للفنان الأيسلندي الدنماركي أولافور إلياسون، حتى 15 أغسطس المقبل، ويتضمن 12 عملا فنيا تركيبيا جديدا قدمها الفنان خصيصا لتلك المواقع بالقرب من غابة القرم في منطقة الذخيرة شمالي قطر، إلى جانب معرض موسع في صالات عرض متحف قطر الوطني. ويتألف العمل الفني الصحراوي من اثني عشر جناحا مؤقتا يعتبرها إلياسون مختبر تجارب فنيا في الصحراء.

أما الجزء الآخر من المعرض المقام في صالات متحف قطر الوطني فيقدم أعمالا فنية تعود لفترات مختلفة من مسيرة الفنان المهنية باستخدام باقة متنوعة من الوسائط.

وتشهد قاعة مواتر بالمتحف الوطني حتى 20 يناير 2024، معرض /نظرة على مشروع متحف قطر للسيارات/ بمتحف قطر للسيارات الجديد ويحتفي بمهمة النهوض بالثقافة وإلهام الجيل القادم من المبدعين والمصممين والمهندسين وجامعي التحف وصانعي القرار الذين يجمعهم ولعهم بالسيارات.

ومن المعارض التي تقدمها المتاحف حاليا كذلك معرض /بيروت الستينات: العصر الذهبي / والذي يستمر حتى 5 أغسطس المقبل في /متحف/: المتحف العربي للفن الحديث، فالمعرض بمثابة إجلال وتكريم لمشهد بيروت الفني في الستينات، والذي ازدهر وبلغ أوجه في الإبداع والتجريب الفني وأصبح وجهة للعديد من المثقفين والفنانين من جميع أنحاء العالم العربي.

كما يتواصل في /متحف/: المتحف العربي للفن الحديث معرض /أنا المسافر والطريق/ حتى 5 أغسطس، وهو رحلة تربط بين الرؤى الفريدة لاثني عشر مصورا فوتوغرافيا يمارسون عملهم في منطقة غرب آسيا وشمال إفريقيا.

ويشهد متحف الفن الإسلامي تواصل معرض /المساجد في قطر: بين الأمس واليوم/، حتى 12 أغسطس المقبل، حيث يعرف الجمهور على مساجد قطر بدءا من أقدمها /مسجد مروب/، مرورا بالمساجد التي رافقت طفرة القرنين التاسع عشر والعشرين، وصولا إلى المساجد ذات العمارة الحديثة والتصميم العصري. كما يسلط الضوء على نخبة من الأئمة القطريين الذين اقتدى بهم المجتمع، وباقة من المؤذنين الذين صدحت حناجرهم بأصوات الأذان.

ويتواصل معرض زوارة: من وحي معرض فالنتينو إلى الأبد حتى 10 سبتمبر المقبل في مركز قطر للابتكار وريادة الأعمال في التصميم والأزياء والتكنولوجيا M7.
