Education City Tram’s Green Line Set to Operate Soon

Doha: Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development has revealed that the Green Line of the Education City Tram will soon be operational, adding a new addition to the sustainable transportation network used within Education City.
The launch of the new Green Line comes as part of enhancing the sustainable transportation system in Education City by connecting the North Campus, which includes the Qatar National Convention Center, Sidra Medicine, and Qatar Science and Technology Park, with the South Campus, which encompasses the partner universities of Qatar Foundation, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and several affiliated schools.
Qatar Foundation announced that operational trials of the Green Line will begin in the coming weeks prior to its official inauguration. During these trials, the Education City Tram will repeatedly cross the Al Gharrafa-Al Rayyan intersection, with traffic signals, speed monitoring cameras, and additional barriers on the sides of the road in place.
As the launch of this new line approaches, Qatar Foundation urges road users and pedestrians to adhere to traffic signals at all times, especially when approaching the Al Gharrafa-Al Rayyan intersection. It also emphasizes the importance of caution and attentiveness while the Education City Tram passes through the intersection, whether during the operational trials or after the official inauguration of the new line.

الدوحة: كشفت مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع، عن قرب تشغيل الخط الأخضر من ترام المدينة التعليمية، وذلك في إضافة جديدة لشبكة المواصلات المُستدامة المُستخدمة في المدينة التعليمية.
يأتي تدشين الخط الأخضر الجديد في إطار تعزيز نظام النقل المستدام في المدينة التعليمية، وذلك من خلال ربط الحرم الشمالي الذي يضمّ مركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات، وسدرة للطب، وواحة قطر للعلوم والتكنولوجيا، بالحرم الجنوبي، الذي يشمل الجامعات الشريكة لمؤسسة قطر، وجامعة حمد بن خليفة، وعددا من المدارس التابعة لها.
وأعلنت مؤسسة قطر أن التجارب التشغيلية للخط الأخضر ستبدأ خلال الأسابيع المقبلة، وذلك قبل التدشين الرسمي لهذا الخط. وخلال هذه التجارب، سيعبر ترام المدينة التعليمية تقاطع الغرافة- الريان بشكل متكرر، مع توافر الإشارات المرورية، وكاميرات مراقبة السرعة، وحواجز إضافية على جانبي الطريق.
ومع اقتراب موعد تدشين هذا الخط الجديد، تحثُّ مؤسسة قطر مستخدمي الطريق والمشاة على الالتزام بالإشارات المرورية في جميع الأوقات، خصوصاً عند الاقتراب من تقاطع الغرافة -الريان، كما تهيب بالجميع ضرورة توخي الحذر والانتباه أثناء مرور ترام المدينة التعليمية عبر التقاطع سواءً كان ذلك أثناء التجارب التشغيلية، أو بعد التدشين الرسمي للخط الجديد.
