Doha: The Solar Quarter website affirms that Qatar is at the forefront of the global energy transformation in the coming period, both in its traditional and modern sectors, primarily relying on electricity generation from alternative natural resources. The report indicates that alongside Qatar’s efforts to increase its liquefied natural gas production capacity and aiming to reach a market share of 126 million tons annually compared to its current 77 million tons, the country is also focusing on enhancing its efficiency in renewable energy. This is achieved by harnessing its natural and climatic characteristics, enabling smooth and continuous electricity generation through photovoltaic rays, which play a key role in such operations.

Diverse Plans

The report highlights Qatar’s contributions to the global shift towards renewable energy through its plans to develop this sector within its territory by launching several electricity generation projects. At the forefront of these projects is the Al-Kharsaah power plant, with a production capacity of 800 megawatts. The plant has gained a prestigious position in the world of solar power plants, ranking third globally among the largest photovoltaic stations. The report emphasizes the significant advantages that this power plant will offer the energy market in Doha. It will cover a considerable portion of user demand, particularly during peak periods such as the summer season, when electricity demand is high. Additionally, the prices will notably decrease compared to conventional electricity generation methods.

A Successful Example

The report also states that the Al-Kharsaah power plant has become a shining example for many countries that are launching similar projects, either independently or in partnership with experienced countries in this field. Qatar, with its substantial expertise, leads the way in developing the sector across different regions through significant electricity generation projects. For instance, Qatar has made significant investments in wind power generation stations in Oman and Spain through the Qatar Investment Authority. Recently, large investments have been announced in Iraq as well. This aspect is considered one of the pillars of Qatar’s future vision, aiming to seize investment opportunities worldwide across various sectors, particularly promising sectors such as technology, healthcare, education, sports, and energy.

الدوحة: أكد موقع “سولار كوارتر” قيادة قطر لتحول قطاع الطاقة العالمي خلال المرحلة المقبلة، بشقيه التقليدي والحديث، والاعتماد بشكل أساسي على توليد الكهرباء باستخدام الموارد الطبيعية البديلة. وأوضح التقرير أن الدوحة تعمل على رفع قدراتها في إنتاج الغاز الطبيعي المسال، وتسعى إلى ضخ 126 مليون طن سنوياً من الغاز في السوق الدولي بدلاً من 77 مليون طن سنوياً كما هو الحال الآن، من خلال مشروع توسعة حقل الشمال الشرقي والجنوبي. وتسعى قطر أيضًا لزيادة كفاءتها في مجال الطاقة المتجددة عن طريق استغلال خصائصها الطبيعية والمناخية، التي تمكنها من توليد الكهرباء بشكل مستدام ومستمر باستخدام الأشعة الكهروضوئية، وهي اللاعب الرئيسي في هذه العمليات.

وذكر التقرير أن اسهامات قطر في التحول العالمي نحو الطاقة المتجددة جاءت من خلال خططها لتطوير هذا المجال على أراضيها، من خلال إطلاق العديد من المشاريع لتوليد الكهرباء. وعلى رأسها محطة الخرسعة، التي تبلغ قدرتها الإنتاجية 800 ميغاواط، وتحظى بمكانة مرموقة في عالم محطات الطاقة الشمسية على المستوى العالمي، حيث تحتل المركز الثالث من حيث أكبر المحطات الكهروضوئية. وأشار التقرير إلى الفوائد الكبيرة التي ستقدمها هذه المحطة لسوق الطاقة في الدوحة، من خلال تلبية جزء كبير من طلبات المستخدمين، خاصةً في فصل الصيف الذي يشهد ذروة الطلب على الكهرباء، بالإضافة إلى انخفاض الأسعار بشكل واضح مقارنة بطرق توليد الكهرباء التقليدية.

مثال ناجح

وأضاف التقرير أن محطة الخرسعة أصبحت اليوم مثالًا يقتدى به في العديد من البلدان، حيث تعمل هذه البلدان على إطلاق محطات مشابهة لها، سواء بشكل فردي أو بالتعاون مع البلدان ذات الخبرة في هذا المجال. ومن بين هذه البلدان، تتصدر قطر التي تمتلك الخبرة الكافية للمساهمة في تطوير القطاع في مختلف أنحاء العالم، من خلال إطلاق مشاريع هامة لتوليد الكهرباء. وأورد التقرير أيضًا أمثلة لاستثمارات قطر في دول أخرى مثل سلطنة عمان وإسبانيا، حيث تم إنشاء محطات توليد الكهرباء من خلال تدوير الرياح، بالإضافة إلى الاستثمارات الكبيرة التي تم الإعلان عنها في العراق مؤخرًا. وتعتبر هذه الاستثمارات جزءًا من رؤية قطر المستقبلية، التي تهدف إلى استغلال الفرص الاستثمارية المتاحة في مختلف أنحاء العالم وفي مختلف القطاعات، وخاصةً القطاعات الواعدة التي تتعلق بالتكنولوجيا والصحة والتعليم والرياضة، بالإضافة إلى الطاقة.
