Doha: Qatar’s oil and gas industry remains a key driver of its economy, with natural gas reserves playing a crucial role in supporting the energy transition. Despite a reduction in hydrocarbon revenues during the pandemic, the industry has remained solid, with Qatar exporting nearly 80% of its LNG to the Asian market.
The country aims to produce 5 GW of solar power by 2035 and has signed deals with global energy firms, including Bangladesh Oil, Gas, and Mineral Corporation and China National Petroleum Corporation. Qatar also plans to increase its LNG production by 49 million metric tonnes per annum in the next four years.
The country is putting effort into developing the North Field, which has opened up new gas export projects.

الدوحة: تبقى صناعة النفط والغاز في قطر محوراً رئيسيًا للاقتصاد، حيث تلعب احتياطيات الغاز الطبيعي دورًا حاسمًا في دعم انتقال الطاقة. وعلى الرغم من تراجع إيرادات الهيدروكربونات خلال جائحة كوفيد-19، إلا أن الصناعة بقيت قوية، حيث تصدر قطر ما يقرب من 80٪ من غازها المسال إلى السوق الآسيوية.
تهدف الدولة إلى إنتاج 5 جيجاوات من الطاقة الشمسية بحلول عام 2035 وقد وقّعت صفقات مع شركات الطاقة العالمية، بما في ذلك شركة بنجلاديش للنفط والغاز وشركة البترول الوطنية الصينية. كما تخطط قطر لزيادة إنتاجها من الغاز المسال بمقدار 49 مليون طن متري سنويًا خلال الأعوام الأربعة المقبلة.
تبذل الدولة جهودًا لتطوير حقل الشمال، مما فتح أفاقًا جديدة لمشاريع تصدير الغاز.
