Doha: Qatar plans to intensify its investments in hydrogen production, according to a report published by the “Green Car Congress” website. The report reveals Qatar’s intention to increase its investments in green hydrogen production in the near future. This decision comes after conducting numerous studies on the importance of working in this field, led by various entities, including Hamad Bin Khalifa University. The university has extensively researched various techniques for ammonia analysis to produce clean hydrogen, focusing on the recovery of washed ammonia and integrating solar energy infrastructure. The report highlights the reasons driving Doha towards this sector and its commitment to its development through a range of domestic and international projects.
Growing interest
The report emphasizes the growing interest in the potential role of hydrogen in reducing CO2 emissions and facilitating positive energy transportation in the liquefied natural gas industry. It highlights the importance of energy sector investment for Qatar within its 2030 vision, which aims to position the country among the world’s leading nations in various fields. Qatar holds a significant share in the global energy market as one of the largest suppliers of liquefied natural gas, making it a strong contender to maintain this position in the future, particularly with the expansion of the North Field and the increase of annual production capacity to over 120 million tons.

The report also indicates the abundance of investment opportunities in the hydrogen sector in Asian markets, which require approximately 90 billion US dollars to achieve the outlined plans in the upcoming phase. فرص استثمارية
وبين التقرير كثرة الفرص الاستثمارية في قطاع الهيدروجين في الأسواق الآسيوية، المحتاجة إلى حوالي 90 مليار دولار أمريكي من أجل بلوغ الخطط المرسومة لهذا المجال في المرحلة القادمة، وهو ما يمكن لقطر المشاركة فيه بقسط وفير خلال الفترة المقبلة، تماشيا مع استراتيجيتها المستقبلية التي تعمل من خلالها على تنويع استثماراتها من جانب الموقع والنوع، مع البحث عن الاستفادة من الفرص الواعدة في شتى المجالات، وعلى رأسها الطاقة التي تعد أحد الأعمدة التي تبنى عليها الدول والاقتصادات القوية، إلى جانب الصحة والتعليم، بالإضافة إلى البنية التحتية والتكنولوجيا.
