H.E Minister of Commerce and Industry inaugurates Project Qatar 2023

Doha, May 29, 2023: The 19th edition of Project Qatar, the highly anticipated international trade exhibition showcasing construction materials, equipment, and technology, was officially inaugurated today by HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Abdullah Al-Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry. Under the esteemed patronage of HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the event serves as a significant platform for industry professionals and enthusiasts alike.
With the unwavering support of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and in partnership with the esteemed Public Works Authority, Project Qatar 2023 promises to exceed expectations and foster innovative collaborations within the construction sector.
A grand opening ceremony of the exhibition was held at the state-of-the-art Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, reaffirming its status as one of Qatar’s largest and most established construction exhibitions, as well as a prominent international trade event. The inauguration was graced by several distinguished guests and official delegations – including representatives from the Public Works Authority, Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Qatari Diar, Qatar Navigation Q.P.S.C., and various prominent local private sector companies. Additionally, the ceremony garnered global attention with the presence of over 30 ambassadors from participating countries and numerous international trade delegations who visited the event.
In light of the impressive attendance at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, Haidar Mshaimesh, General Manager of IFP Qatar, expressed sincere gratitude for the trust bestowed upon the exhibition by esteemed leaders in Qatar and various global sectors and markets. “The construction market in Qatar is gearing up to enter a new era with the aim to achieve the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030. This new chapter places emphasis on the development of industrial and social infrastructure projects, integrating cutting-edge technologies and elements of smart cities into construction endeavors. Project Qatar, the pioneering, and longest-running business exhibition in Qatar, specializes in showcasing construction work and related industries. Qatar Industries is sponsoring Suhail Industrial Holding Group, the largest industrial group in Qatar currently in terms of number of factories and value of investment. The Group’s pavilion is the largest in the exhibition and showcases its exceptional capabilities.
Meanwhile, Qatari Diar, the real estate company established by the Qatar Investment Authority, which oversees the implementation of more than 60 projects in 24 countries across 5 continents with investments valued at USD 35 billion, is participating in Project Qatar as an exclusive real estate developer, taking advantage of the occasion to introduce its projects and investment opportunities.
On the first day, the event commenced with the inauguration of the conference sessions that will span over four days, with each day focusing on a distinct subject. The first day, titled ‘Q Invest’, delved into the various investment prospects within the Qatari construction sector. The second day, themed ‘Q Industry’, will explore topics pertaining to industrial growth and domestic production. Themed ‘Q Tech’, the third day will center around the significance of smart technology in the construction industry, while the fourth day, titled ‘Q Green’, will tackle environmental concerns, sustainability, and eco-friendly construction practices.
Eng. Yousef Al-Emadi, Projects Affairs Director of Ashgal and the strategic partner of the event, delivered an impactful speech during the opening ceremony of the conference, praising the exhibition’s unwavering dedication to advancing the construction sector, especially in the face of ongoing global challenges. Providing a sneak peek into the construction projects that will be available in Qatar in 2023 and the following year, he urged stakeholders, partners, and anyone interested in the industry to take advantage of the abundant opportunities presented by these projects in Qatar.
The event attracts about 325 exhibiting companies, including 120 international companies from 25 countries. Eight of these countries have national pavilions while 200 participating companies are local, representing government and semi-government agencies as well as the most prominent private sector entities.
Public Works Authority (ASHGHAL) is supporting and sponsoring the Project Qatar as the strategic partner while Qatar Tourism is sponsoring the visiting commercial delegations. الدوحة، 29 مايو 2023: تحت رعاية معالي الشيخ محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن جاسم آل ثاني، رئيس مجلس الوزراء، وزير الخارجية، إفتتح سعادة الشيخ محمد بن حمد بن قاسم العبد الله آل ثاني، وزير التجارة والصناعة القطري، معرض “بروجكت قطر 2023″، المعرض التجاري الدولي التاسع عشر لمواد ومعدّات وتقنيّات البناء، الذي يقام بدعم من وزارة التجارة والصناعة، وبالشراكة مع هيئة الأشغال العامّة في مركز الدوحة للمعارض والمؤتمرات.
وجاء حفل الإفتتاح على مستوى المعرض الذي يعدّ أكبر وأعرق معرض للبناء في قطر، ومن أبرز المعارض التجارية الدولية التي تشهدها الدولة، حيث شارك في الحفل ورافق سعادته خلال الجولة الإفتتاحية مجموعة كبيرة من كبار الشخصيات والوفود الرسمية، شملت هيئة الأشغال العامة، وغرفة تجارة وصناعة قطر، وشركة الديار القطرية، وشركة الملاحة القطرية، وكبرى شركات القطاع الخاص المشاركة في المعرض على المستوى المحلي. أما على المستوى الدولي، فقد حضر الإفتتاح أصحاب السعادة سفراء الدول المشاركة الذين تجاوز عددهم الثلاثين سفيراً، فضلاً عن عشرات الوفود التجارية الدولية الزائرة.
وتعليقاً على المشهد الحاشد في مركز الدوحة للمعارض والمؤتمرات، أعرب مدير عام الشركة الدولية للمعارض – قطر، حيدر مشيمش، عن إعتزاز الشركة بالثقة التي يوليها قادة القطاعات المعنية والأسواق في قطر والعالم للمعرض، قائلاً: “يقف سوق البناء في قطر اليوم على أعتاب مرحلة جديدة أساسها تحقيق أهداف رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، وهي مرحلة ينتقل معها التركيز إلى مشاريع تطوير البنية الصناعية والإجتماعية في قطر، فضلاً عن دمج التقنيات المتقدمّة ومقوّمات المدن الذكية في أعمال البناء في الدولة. وكما واكب معرض بروجكت قطر متطلبات وتوجهات السوق طوال الأعوام التسعة عشرة الماضية، وبناءً على تراثه العريق ودوره الراسخ في هذا المجال، سيقود المعرض بمساهمته هذه المرحلة الجديدة في السوق القطري. وسيستمر المعرض بلعب دور رائد في تسهيل التبادل التجاري بين قطر وبقية دول العالم، وتوفير قناة مباشرة لنقل وتبادل السلع والخدمات والتجارب. وما الحشد الرفيع المستوى الذي رحبنا به في حفل الإفتتاح اليوم إلا شهادة واضحة على قيمة المعرض ومكانته على الساحة.”
ويعدّ معرض “بروجكت قطر” معرض الأعمال الأول والأقدم في البلاد المتخصص في قطاع التشييد والبناء وغيرها من الصناعات المرتبطة به. ويقدم المعرض فرصة الوصول إلى سوق البناء القطري المزدهر بالإضافة إلى إمكانية خلق فرص جديدة للأعمال مع الشركات على اختلاف أحجامها. ويقدم المعرض هذا العام قطاع الصناعات القطري للجمهور الدولي للمعرض ضمن منطقة عرض مخصّصة تحمل عنوان “صناعات قطر”، تماشياً مع “رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030″، وفي إطار الجهود المبذولة للوصول إلى جمهور أوسع والترويج لمنتجات المصنعين المحليين. وسيركز الحدث بشكل أكبر على الإنجازات الكبيرة التي حققتها دولة قطر على صعيد توسع قطاع الصناعات المحلية خلال السنوات الماضية. كما ويخاطب المعرض بشكل خاص في هذه الدورة مستقبل قطاع البناء في قطر، من خلال تسليط الضوء على الإبتكارات التكنولوجية التي ستؤدّي دوراً مهمّاً في مستقبل القطاع ضمن جناح “المدن الذكية” الذي يضم عدداً من مزوّدي التقنيات المتقدّمة ذات الإستخدامات المتعدّدة في مشاريع البناء.

بدورها، إختارت شركة الديار القطرية، عملاق التطوير العقاري التابع لجهاز قطر للإستثمار، والتي تباشر تنفيذ وإنجاز أكثر من 60 مشروعا في أكثر من 24 دولة موزعة على 5 قارات حول العالم باستثمارات تتجاوز قيمتها 35 مليار دولار، إختارت المشاركة في معرض “بروجكت قطر” بصفة راعي التطوير العقاري الحصري، مستفيدة من المناسبة للتعريف بمشاريعها والفرص الإستثمارية المتاحة فيها.
هذا وقد شهد اليوم الأول من الحدث إفتتاح جلسات المؤتمر المصاحب الذي يقام على مدار 4 أيام، وتخصّص جلسات كل يوم منها لموضوع مختلف، إذ يغطي اليوم الأول الذي يحمل عنوان Q Invest أبرز الفرص الإستثمارية المتاحة في قطاع البناء في قطر، فيما يغطي اليوم الثاني الذي يحمل عنوان Q Industry العناوين المرتبطة بتطوير الصناعة والإنتاج المحلي، أمّا اليوم الثالث الذي يحمل عنوان Q Tech، فسيكون مخصصاً لبحث دور التكنولوجيا الذكية في قطاع البناء، على أن يعالج اليوم الرابع الذي يحمل عنوان Q Green التحديات البيئية وقضية الإستدامة والبناء الأخضر. وقد ألقى المهندس يوسف العمادي، مدير شؤون المشاريع في هيئة الأشغال العامة، الشريك الاستراتيجي للحدث، الكلمة الرئيسية في إفتتاح المؤتمر، والتي أشاد فيها بالتزام المعرض بمواصلة النهوض بقطاع البناء وسط التحديات العالمية. كما قدم لمحة عن فرص مشاريع البناء المتاحة في قطر خلال العام الجاري وما بعده، وحث أصحاب المصلحة والمعنيين في قطاع البناء على الاستفادة من الفرص الهامة في مجال المشاريع في الدولة.
