China Unveils New Quantum Computing Cloud Platform

Beijing: China released a new generation of a quantum computing cloud platform, that enables researchers to perform complex computational tasks in the cloud and the public to experience quantum computing at the speed of microseconds.
The platform, jointly developed by the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS), Institute of Physics (IOP) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Tsinghua University, was released at the ongoing 2023 Zhongguancun Forum in Beijing.
It can pool the quantum computing power of three superconducting quantum chips featuring 136, 18, and 10 qubits, respectively, at a physical space distance of 50 km.
The platform, which was open for testing since last November, has attracted more than 2,000 domestic and foreign users to run quantum computing tasks more than 500,000 times, during which its performance has been stable and efficient, according to the BAQIS.
It is compatible with open quantum assembly language and also provides a graphic interface for convenient programming.
Some research teams have been using the platform to remotely employ quantum chips to serve their own scientific research and build application software, and the ecological construction of quantum computing is unfolding.
“The ecology of quantum computing needs to be built on the cloud platform, so we should develop the cloud platform as soon as possible,” IOP researcher Fan Heng said.
Quantum Computing is a technology that harnesses the laws of quantum mechanics to solve problems too complex for classical computers, making it faster, in some cases, than classical computers. For example, quantum computers could easily crack the encryption used by banks on the internet.

وتم إصدار هذه المنصة، التي طورتها بشكل مشترك أكاديمية بكين لعلوم المعلومات الكمومية، ومعهد الفيزياء التابع لأكاديمية العلوم الصينية، وجامعة تسينغهوا، في منتدى /تشونغقوانتسون 2023/ المنعقد حاليا في بكين.
ويمكن للمنصة المذكورة تجميع قوة الحوسبة الكمومية لثلاث رقائق كمومية فائقة التوصيل تتميز بـ 136 و 18 و 10 كيوبت على التوالي، على مسافة مكانية مادية تبلغ 50 كيلومترا.
واجتذبت المنصة، التي كانت مفتوحة للاختبار منذ نوفمبر الماضي، أكثر من 2000 مستخدم محلي وأجنبي لتشغيل مهام الحوسبة الكمومية أكثر من 500 ألف مرة، حيث كان أداؤها مستقرا وفعالا، وفقا لأكاديمية بكين لعلوم المعلومات الكمومية.
وتتوافق المنصة السحابية مع لغة التجميع الكمومية المفتوحة، وتوفر أيضا واجهة رسومية للبرمجة المريحة.
وتستخدم بعض فرق البحث المنصة لتوظيف الرقائق الكمومية عن بعد لخدمة البحث العلمي الخاص بها وبناء برامج التطبيقات، حيث ما زال البناء البيئي للحوسبة الكمومية قيد التنفيذ.
وفي هذا السياق؛ قال فان هنغ، الباحث في معهد الفيزياء التابع لأكاديمية العلوم الصينية: “يجب بناء بيئة الحوسبة الكمومية على منصة سحابية، لذلك يجب علينا تطوير منصة سحابية في أقرب وقت ممكن”.
تجدر الاشارة إلى أن /الحوسبة الكمومية/ هي فكرة استخدام غرابة ميكانيكا الكم لمعالجة المعلومات بطريقة تختلف كليا عن طريقة عمل الحواسيب العادية، وهذا ما يجعلها في بعض الحالات، أسرع بكثير من أي حاسوب عادي. على سبيل المثال، يمكن لحاسوب كمومي أن يفك بسهولة التشفير الذي تستعمله البنوك على الإنترنت.
