Qatar Philatelic, Numismatic Stamp Center Receives Medals During Asian Exhibition in New Zealand

Doha: The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Stamp Center at the Ministry of Culture has been awarded valued international medals during its participation in the 38th Asian International Philatelic Exhibition which wrapped up its events in New Zealand Sunday.

Held under the banner of the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP), the four-day event featured participation of members from 66 countries from over the world.

Director of the center Hussain Rajab Al Ismail said in a statement that the center has been awarded honored results during its participation in the exhibition, where an elite of international juries evaluated these results.
The first regular stamps of Qatar (8 frames) received a gold medal G, containing the stamps of Sheikh Ahmed bin Ali Al-Thani, which are the first collection of regular stamps for Qatar depicting a photo of Sheikh Ahmed, along with mosque, falcon and oil rig.

The Stamps of Qatar (5 frames) got a large silver medal LS from the sheikhdom of Qatar from 1930-1963, whilst the postal history of Kuwait (5 frames) received Gold medal V, with the postal history of Bahrain (8 frames) receiving large Gold medal LV.

The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Stamp Center has been a member of FIA, FIAP and the executive committee of FIAP for several consecutive cycles.

الدوحة: حصل المركز القطري لهواة الطوابع والعملات التابع لوزارة الثقافة على ميداليات عالمية قيمة، وذلك خلال مشاركته في المعرض الآسيوي الـ/38/ للطوابع، الذي اختتمت فعالياته في نيوزيلندا يوم أمس، واستمر أربعة أيام تحت مظلة الاتحاد الآسيوي لهواة الطوابع/FIAP/، وشارك فيه أعضاء من/66/ دولة من مختلف أنحاء العالم.

وقال السيد حسين رجب الإسماعيل مدير المركز في بيان، أن المركز القطري لهواة الطوابع والعملات قد حاز على نتائج مشرفة خلال مشاركته في المعرض، وقام بتقييم العرض نخبة من المحكمين الدوليين.

وقد حصلت الطوابع الاعتيادية الأولى لقطر (8 فريمات) على ميدالية ذهبية G، وتحتوي هذه المجموعة على طوابع الشيخ أحمد بن علي آل ثاني وهي أول مجموعة طوابع اعتيادية صدرت لقطر عليها صورة الشيخ والمسجد والصقر وحفارة البترول، وحصلت طوابع قطر من المشيخة للدولة من عام 1930- 1963( 5 فريمات )، على ميدالية فضية كبيرة LS ، كما حصل التاريخ البريدي للكويت (5 فريمات) على ميدالية مذهبة V، وحصل التاريخ البريدي للبحرين (8 فريمات) على ميدالية مذهبة كبيرة LV.

يذكر أن المركز القطري لهواة الطوابع والعملات عضو في الاتحاد العالمي للطوابع /FIP/ والاتحاد الآسيوي للطوابع /FIAP/، وكذلك عضو في اللجنة التنفيذية للاتحاد الآسيوي للطوابع لعدة دورات متتالية.
