Doha: The world is moving towards using artificial intelligence significantly in various fields and sectors, whether in government or private workplaces, to benefit from its capabilities in improving the work environment, increasing productivity, reducing time waste, decreasing the workforce, and saving costs.
This raises questions about how to benefit from this technological development, which experts consider a new revolution in this field. Will it have negative implications for employees or reduce future job opportunities, and how? This debate, fueled by specialized reports, continues with concerns that hundreds of millions of jobs will be negatively affected by the new variable if it spreads, which is expected.
Alarming Figures and Statistics
The latest figures indicate that the technology sector reduced the number of jobs globally by 5% in the first quarter of 2023 compared to the full year 2022.
Goldman Sachs says in a recent report that 300 million jobs worldwide will be affected by artificial intelligence and automation.
Al-Sharq consulted experts and technology specialists to know their expectations for the future of artificial intelligence in Qatar, given its technological infrastructure, and discussed its impact on the job market in Qatar, the most prominent benefiting sectors, and whether it will reduce employment opportunities or vice versa. Also, what is required from employees in the government or private sectors to maximize the benefits of artificial intelligence? Will the career choices of university students change with the new influx from the world of technology?
Amr Mohammed, a digital marketing consultant and trainer, confirms that Qatar is one of the leading countries investing in technological infrastructure and artificial intelligence. The government aims to turn the country into a center for information and communication technology in the region. Qatar has witnessed a significant trend towards applying modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, which is one of its priorities in its journey towards the digital transformation.
He pointed out that several initiatives and programs have been launched to promote artificial intelligence in Qatar, such as the Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) and the Qatar Science Computing Foundation (QSC). There are also several government and private initiatives aimed at enhancing the use of modern technology and artificial intelligence in vital sectors such as health, education, transportation, and commerce.
He added that Qatar is generally a good place to invest in artificial intelligence and develop projects that benefit from it, as it has a strong technological infrastructure and a clear strategy to transform the country into a hub for information and communication technology in the region.
He explained that artificial intelligence is one of the most prevalent modern technologies in the digital world and has great importance in various fields, whether at the individual level or in communities and countries:
Firstly, individuals can use artificial intelligence to improve their lives and increase their productivity, manage their time, and improve personal productivity. Through the use of artificial intelligence algorithms, data can be analyzed, making it useful for individuals to make the right decisions.
Secondly, communities can benefit from artificial intelligence in various fields, such as improving public health, assisting in the development of renewable energy, and managing waste more efficiently. Artificial intelligence can also be used to develop smart cities and improve public government services.
Thirdly, countries can benefit from artificial intelligence to enhance economic development, improve national security, and manage crises and disasters. Artificial intelligence can also be used in military fields, such as developing air defense systems and identifying potential targets.

الدوحة: يتجه العالم إلى استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي، بصورة كبيرة في مختلف المجالات والقطاعات وفي جهات العمل الحكومية أو الخاصة للاستفادة من الإمكانيات التي يوفرها لتحسين بيئة العمل وزيادة الإنتاجية وتقليل هدر الوقت وأيضاً تقليل العاملين وترشيد النفقات، ليتجدد السؤال عن كيفية الاستفادة من هذا التطور التكنولوجي الذي يعتبره المختصون ثورة جديدة في هذا المجال؟ وهل سيكون له انعكاسات سلبية على الموظفين أو تقليل فرص العمل المستقبلية؟ وكيف؟ ليتواصل الجدل الذي لا يخلو من مخاوف، تعززها تقارير متخصصة، عن مئات الملايين من الوظائف التي ستتأثر سلباً بالمتغير الجديد في حال انتشاره، وهو أمر متوقع.
أرقام وإحصائيات مقلقة
وتشير أحدث الأرقام أنه في الربع الأول من عام 2023 خفّض القطاع التكنولوجي عدد الوظائف في العالم أكثر بـ5% مما فعل خلال عام 2022 كاملاً.
وتقول مؤسسة “غولدمان ساكس” في تقرير حديث لها إن هناك 300 مليون وظيفة على مستوى العالم ستتأثر بالذكاء الاصطناعي والتشغيل الآلي.
“الشرق” استطلعت رأي خبراء ومختصين في التكنولوجيا لمعرفة توقعاتهم لمستقبل الذكاء الاصطناعي في قطر في ظل البنية التكنولوجية التي تمتلكها، ومناقشة تأثيره على سوق العمل في قطر وما أبرز القطاعات المستفيدة وهل سيقلل فرص التوظيف أم العكس، وما المطلوب من العاملين في القطاعين الحكومي أو الخاص للاستفادة القصوى من مزايا الذكاء الاصطناعي؟ وهل ستتغير مسارات اختيارات الطلاب في المرحلة الجامعية في ظل الوافد الجديد من عالم التكنولوجيا؟
يؤكد عمار محمد مستشار ومدرب تسويق رقمي أن دولة قطر تعتبر واحدة من الدول الرائدة في الاستثمار في البنية التحتية التكنولوجية والذكاء الاصطناعي. حيث تهدف الحكومة إلى تحويل الدولة إلى مركز تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات في المنطقة. وقد شهدت قطر توجهاً كبيراً نحو تطبيق التقنيات الحديثة، بما في ذلك الذكاء الاصطناعي، والذي يعد من أولوياتها في مسيرتها نحو الاقتصاد الرقمي.
وأشار إلى أنه تم إطلاق عدة مبادرات وبرامج لتعزيز الذكاء الاصطناعي في قطر، مثل مركز قطر للذكاء الاصطناعي (QCRI) ومؤسسة قطر للحوسبة العلمية (QSC). وهناك أيضاً عدة مبادرات حكومية وخاصة تهدف إلى تعزيز استخدام التكنولوجيا الحديثة والذكاء الاصطناعي في القطاعات الحيوية مثل الصحة والتعليم والنقل والتجارة.
وأضاف: بشكل عام، تعتبر قطر مكاناً جيداً للاستثمار في الذكاء الاصطناعي وتطوير المشاريع التي تستفيد منه، حيث تتمتع ببنية تحتية تكنولوجية قوية واستراتيجية واضحة لتحويل الدولة إلى مركز تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات في المنطقة.
وأوضح أن الذكاء الاصطناعي من التقنيات الحديثة الأكثر شيوعاً في العالم الرقمي، ويتميز بأهمية كبيرة في مختلف المجالات، سواء على مستوى الأفراد أو المجتمعات والدول:
أولاً- يمكن للأفراد استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي لتحسين حياتهم وزيادة إنتاجيتهم، وإدارة الوقت وتحسين الإنتاجية الشخصية. ومن خلال استخدام خوارزميات الذكاء الاصطناعي، يمكن تحليل البيانات مما يجعلها تفيد الأفراد في اتخاذ القرارات الصحيحة.
ثانياً- يمكن للمجتمعات الاستفادة من الذكاء الاصطناعي في مجالات متعددة، مثل تحسين الصحة العامة والمساعدة في تطوير الطاقة المتجددة وإدارة النفايات بطريقة أكثر فعالية. كما يمكن استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي لتطوير المدن الذكية وتحسين الخدمات الحكومية العامة.
ثالثاً- يمكن للدول الاستفادة من الذكاء الاصطناعي لتعزيز التنمية الاقتصادية وتحسين الأمن القومي وإدارة الأزمات والكوارث. كما يمكن استخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي في المجالات العسكرية، مثل تطوير أنظمة الدفاع الجوي والتعرف على الأهداف المحتملة.
