MOI Calls on Citizens to Register Names on Voter Lists for CMC Elections

Doha: The Ministry of Interior (MOI) called on Qatari nationals to register their names in the voter lists ahead of 7th Central Municipal Council elections due on June 22.

The voter registration phase will start Sunday, April 30, and will continue until Thursday, May 4, the MOI said Thursday in a statement.

Voters can either register their names by hand at the polling stations from 4 pm till 7 pm or online via Metrash 2 app around the clock, the statement read.

The statement stipulated these conditions for eligible voters: – They must have an original Qatari nationality or have obtained it more than 15 years ago; – They must be above 18 years old on May 4, 2023; – They have not been previously convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude or dishonesty, unless they have been rehabilitated; – They must be residing in the constituency where they have the right to vote, must not be affiliates of the armed forces or the police Citizens should proceed with the registration procedures themselves at their constituencies, according to the residence address in their IDs, or via Metrash 2 app. They are not allowed to register in more than one constituency.

Those who have previously been registered have the right to move to another constituency, according to their current actual residence.

According to the CMC election timetable, the preliminary voter lists will be announced at the polling stations, with the door to grievance and appeals process against these lists open on Sunday, May 7.

الدوحة: دعت وزارة الداخلية، المواطنين إلى قيد أسمائهم في جداول الناخبين؛ استعدادا لانتخابات المجلس البلدي المركزي في دورته السابعة المقررة في 22 يونيو المقبل.

وأوضحت الوزارة، في بيان، أن عملية قيد الناخبين ستبدأ اعتبارا من الأحد المقبل 30 أبريل الجاري وتستمر حتى الخميس 4 مايو المقبل، مشيرة إلى أن القيد متاح يدويا في المقار الانتخابية، وذلك من الساعة الرابعة عصرا حتى الساعة السابعة مساء، أو إلكترونيا عبر “مطراش 2” على مدار 24 ساعة.

ونوهت إلى الشروط الواجب توافرها في الناخب، وتتمثل في “أن تكون جنسيته الأصلية قطرية أو مضى على اكتسابه الجنسية القطرية خمس عشرة سنة، وألا يقل عمره عن ثماني عشرة سنة ميلادية بتاريخ 4 مايو 2023، وألا يكون قد سبق الحكم عليه في جريمة مخلة بالشرف أو الأمانة ما لم يرد إليه اعتباره، وأن يكون مقيما إقامة فعلية في الدائرة الانتخابية التي يباشر فيها حق الانتخاب، وألا يكون من العاملين في القوات المسلحة أو الشرطة”.

وتتمثل إجراءات القيد في أن يباشر المواطن إجراءات القيد بنفسه في مقر الدائرة الانتخابية التابع لها، أو من خلال تطبيق “مطراش 2″، وأن تكون البطاقة الشخصية هي المرجع في تحديد عنوان السكن، ولا يجوز للشخص أن يطلب قيده في أكثر من دائرة انتخابية.

كما نبهت وزارة الداخلية إلى أن لكل من سبق قيده الحق في طلب تعديل قيده في دائرة انتخابية أخرى وفقا لبيانات مقر إقامته الفعلية الحالية.

ووفقا للجدول الزمني للعملية الانتخابية، سيتم إعلان جداول الناخبين الأولية في المقار الانتخابية، مع فتح باب الطعن والتظلم في هذه الجداول يوم الأحد الموافق 7 مايو المقبل.
